- Scotland is home to yummy-mummy, 36-year-old Lorraine. Forget desperate housewives, Lorraine loves a bit of glamour, dressing up no matter the cost. Even her 2-year-old daughter, Olivia is dressed in top fashions from plush catalogs. Lorraine’s gone from full-time advertising exec to full-time mum, losing her £35,000 salary hasn’t affected her spending, although it has affected her husband. In just two years, Lorraine has piled up over £20,000 worth of debt. It’s putting a strain on the overdraft as well as her marriage.

Every time i hear 'yummy mummy" i die a little inside
Yes because they are just plain aging women ....who think they are beautiful.
Wrong.....ordinary and plain with normal boring life like most of us ....
Lol it was a very in trend expression in the early 2000’s, this woman however does not meet the criteria to be called one.
"Yummy" is one of those words like "moist" or "luscious" that should be completely innocent but always sounds weirdly intimate, but not in a good way.
I think she's just really really bored
I think she buys to try and make herself feel better about herself.
Agree. Good they found her a hobby. I'd love to be able to sew clothes :)
She is also afraid of losing everything again. Maybe even losing her husband.
Then she should get a job lol
With all the money that gets spent on shopping, she could easily organise her week for other activities. Come on people!!! It’s just a fake show, for our entertainment. You can’t these silly shows seriously.
Kids today will never know the excitement of getting the Autumn/Winter catalogues and methodically noting down all the catalog numbers of your favourite toys for Father Christmas.
kek23k generally argos and a biro
Ahh, the Sears Catalogue with the huge toy section. So much fun to look at all those toys and circle all the ones I liked!
nanna used to get two for me and my brother and we'd cut the items out and stick them on colored card. was the best man
omg that was the best! i looked at those catalogues all the time it was so much fun
Mine used to get overwhelmed and circle nothing, my friend’s child circled almost everything.
They're talking like organic eggs and Tesco finest pizzas are what's breaking the bank, not the Chanel and Clarins make-up and Jo Malone perfume...
To be fair £150 a week plus top ups a couple times a week is a lot for a family of 4 with two little kids
@@adventurouspeach At the time of this recording/airing, yeah 150£/week is alot for 4 ppl but now that's probably pretty average. I spend $500/month for my family of 4. Goes to show how terribly the US's minimum wage hasn't kept up with inflation/rising costs. Was $5.25/hour for all 2000's until raised to $7.25 in 2009 and hasn't changed since then. 🤦
@@stupidkitty84 minimum wage hasn’t change since 2009 in the US? What??! Thats horrible. In the Netherlands its goes up every 6 months.

I used to work in a department store and it was shocking to see designer clothes for toddlers who would grow out of them in a few months. I couldn't believe people threw away money like that. Second-hand stores are a God-send for kids' clothes. You can find good stuff inexpensively and donate it again when the kids grow out of it.
My brothers mother in law did buy those things but they've done good service for three of my nephews.
I worked for a lady who would buy expensive stuff, clothes for her small children & throw them in the trash when they outgrew them, such a waste
My kids have had brands over the years but they come from my cousin.. so they have done a good service
Why doesn't she start working again, she could easily do it with her youngest 2 years old? She is just bored, I know exactly how she feels, boredom makes you shop, eat, drink even. I don't think it's her family history at all...
her house was quite minimalistic and not cluttered. very nice.
She buys stuff her husband can't see. Just puts on her expensive new clothes.
She is amazing! To be able to be confronted on camera and respond with grace and dignity AND make such significant changes demonstrates strong character. Well done! She inspired me!
What kind of a psychologist is he? She can’t answer a single one of his questions without him talking over her. Sounds like a great practice! Ask a patient to open up and when they do, cut them off and talk over them. May as well have just handed her a script to follow.
I’ve seen quite a few of these and he’s not usually like this. It could be the way it’s been edited as it appears really out of character for him.
I don’t think he’s a real psychologist, I think he’s a life coach or something like that. Driving a half hr away for food would not save money. Just buy organic from the store & save gas money. As long as it’s eaten it’s not a waste. My opinion anyways.
If you’re calling yourself a therapist, you should probably have some certifications.
@@biancac6274 they call him a 'coach' and in earliest shows referred as someone involved in self help. They never say he is a therapist or pyschologist as those are terms only allowed if trained. So pretty sure he is 'self taught'. not qualified
Helen R he literally calls himself a therapist not only in this episode, but others.
This episode showed that it's not the 2000s fashion that made ppl look ridiculous, but a lack of taste. Lorraine doesn't look tacky or weird at all.
No, she could look like this now and still look nice. Her haircut is lovely and I bet she spent a fortune on that. It’s v 2000s but would still look good today

@@communistpropagandist4608 The point he is making is that even basics like food have an element of indulgence because she feels deprived, probably of adult conversation and a sense of accomplishment that comes from working.

She needs both. Everyone can benefit from therapy... And even though yes she is bored she is also an addict.
She needed the therapist, then she needed a job, hobby, voluntary work etc. The therapist was just there to get her out of the rut that she wasn't getting out of herself.

Hope she sorted herself out
Imagine her on wish with how cheap everything is
I actually though the same thing. She might be clinically depressed and in need of real help and not this weird life coach.
I just saw your comment, I've just written the same thing. I haven't seen the entire show yet and quite honestly, I don't think I'll watch the rest. It's just so depressing watching this successful person living a life that isn't 100% fulfilling for her. The shopping is filling the void.
I know how she feels, on the days that I feel unfulfilled, I go shopping
@@Andyscobie I can relate. Recently I’ve completely changed and only buy unbranded and reduced food. I also buy clothing from charity shops or swap. I also take part in product testing and apply for free samples and I use cash back apps, receipt apps and loyalty cards. I also use coupons and vouchers too. It’s so much more rewarding and become a hobby as I share what I find on Instagram. There’s a great community of savvy shoppers online and we all help each other. I also do the no shop challenge and shop your stash challenge. Maybe you could have a go at a no spend month or if you really can’t stop shopping set a limit and make it fun finding stuff
The fact that Benjamin was prepared to give him his "analysis" without listening to what she had to say is extremely unprofessional to me. He had it all figured out and implanted his thoughts into hers. EEK.
It's not that. What Benjamin was doing was making sure the train of conversation stayed on a track where it'd lead to an 'a ha' moment | Most addicts are very good at verbally 'pivoting' when the talk gets a little too close to home. When Ben interrupted Lorraine, she was about to launch into (a clearly often repeated) explanation she gives herself. So he cut her off at the pass, so to speak. If Ben had let her run with her thought, he'd find it much harder to break new ground with her. But by keeping her 'off balance'...and by politely (but firmly)...not allowing her to go down the mental routes she's used to going, he gets the chance to help her break out / break through.
@@re7416 Pseudoscience
I was thrilled that in this episode Jay suggested home sewing as a way of saving money and moving forward. I have often wodered why the suggestion has not been made to many of the shopaholics, as it is rewarding and is a way that enables home sewers to wear unique clothes for a fraction of the price of shop bought rubbish
As a sewista, I can tell you that home sewing can actually be quite costly. We home sewists don't get to pay what the wholesalers & manufacturers pay for fabric, etc. However, you cannot put a price on the satisfaction that comes from making your own stuff. I think this is the real value for Lorraine
Him interrupting her is actually driving me crazy
The main thing is the way he worked with her worked for her.
That guy therapist sees meaning in every little thing...'there's a little spider web in the corner of the sealing'..must mean that Lorainne has chosen to hide her feelings somewhere out of reach but is there for all to see which acts as an outcry for help. What a load of crock

If they got rid of the "I have already decided what your issue is, now shut up and listen I am amazing" therapist from this show it would be much better
Well done, I say. They less you spend , the more time you get to enjoy what you have. The happier you are with yourself the less consumed you are with spending. Hats off to this woman who recognised her spending problem. You’re only making rich people richer by spending on “stuff” you don’t really need.
The therapist annoys me when he talks over clients. That is unprofessional.
He does it A LOT in this one, too. Augh.
He’s not a licensed therapist
it's just a tv show, not 'real' life.
She should just go back to work, she's clearly bored
sarah petch it will make you happy for a while but once the dopamine hit wears off they just shop even more hence the situation they find themselves in. Getting hobbies, learning new skills and doing things for free will relieve any boredom and give one a sense of accomplishment. I have to spend most of my time at home but because I have so many interests in things I am never bored. It may help that I'm very academic too so love studying but my day is always planned of things to do and it never involves shopping.
The therapist kept interrupting her, which really annoyed me. A real therapist would LISTEN!
Why so many comments about her appearance tho? It's a show about someone who's addicted to shopping nothing to do about being good looking or not. Which she is a pretty lady anyway. After poor Caroline flack death didn't take too long before people were back to being nasty about people. She didn't ask anyone's opinions on if rather they find her attractive or not that has nothing to do with the show... #bekind
Nicely said, so true.
So much vitriol in the air you can touch it.
She's very pretty! Yummy mummy indeed :)
Well said! The internet loves to judge women on their appearance only. Unfortunately they lose the plot. I had eating disorders for a long time and everyone thought I was the picture of health. I was dying inside. Love seeing women tell off the comment section. 👏
Such is life. It's not going to change. You don't have to read it, people need to learn that. Out of sight, out of mind. Also Caroline's problems were far more deeper than a few RUclips comments.
She’s obviously trying to fill a void that’s missing in her life. Hope she gets the help she needs.
She’s most probably as said had a good job & had her own money & bought what she wanted..............I think she needs time, support & maybe another job? Part time or full time. She’s bored. And a therapist is supposed to listen but unfortunately I think Benjamin likes the sound of his own voice!

Loraine could have channeled her creativity into helping fund raise for the local PTA at her sons school or church or any charity that speaks to her. She needs to be validated by something other than shopping
I think the point was that she find a fulfilling activity/hobby that was truly for her self and didn't have to do with the children/homemaking, and more importantly didn't feel like another chore added to her list. just some time to focus on herself and her own interests, so i think the suggestions they offered were awesome!
the trick is not to tie yourself down into a miserable life as a woman without an income just to be a "housewife", unless you're devoted to religion ore something, which can infuse some meaning into such a meaningless existence. Of course it should remain legal for women to mess up their lives this way but it shouldn't be promoted...
I love the idea of making her own clothing. It's actually amazing that so many people don't know how to sew anymore, or do many basic skills on their own.
I've had this, not with catalogues but with online shopping, and the scary thing its so easy, you can see something and buy it in less than 1 minute...Being at home all day with small kids can easily get on top of you, it did me, and it used to feel so relaxing to browse shops like Next or amazon, like I had shut my problems out for a while.. Now Ive gone towards minimalism and try not to go online browsing as I don't trust myself to not fall back into these habits, and I try to curate what clothes or things I honestly really want and not browse aimlessly...There are lots of tips and tricks to make shopping more intentional...At the end of the day its another way to evade reality and disconnect, its addiction, and should be treated as such.
What if you really like unintentional shopping? Its a form of rebellion.
Lorraine really threw herself into it and did brilliantly! I hope she's doing well and out of debt now!
This therapist is so rude. He cuts her off over and over to try to make some observation.
Also the home inspection is so silly. They found almost nothing and still made a bunch of unfounded assumptions.

I really admire Lorraine in the episode, she really turned not only her spending around but her life. She is my hero and I wish her the best for the rest of her life. Great show and really inspiring in general. Thank you.
She’s so far ahead of the curve now. Had she spent years seeing a Clinical Psychologist she’d have been in much deeper debt. Good for her!
Well done you. What a difference. I know where you were coming from. I learned over the years that it gives me much more peace of mind to know I don’t buy what I can’t afford. You should be so proud of yourself, I can see you going forward and enjoying your life more doing things for you. Xx

I really like the part where she said, "I need to buy just the things I really want. ... I wouldn't be sitting here if I wasn't going to give it a go,but I think it'll be really tough." Exactlty! I'm always so proud or peoples change and willingness to try in this show.
Benjamin needs to let Loraine speak more he kept talking over her and telling her what she was feeling before she’d finished as though he’s already decided what the issue is 🙄
Brilliant therapist; one conversation and bam, the truth leaps out. Wonderful. 💕
All this healthy output and input, it's as though it makes sense. I've only seen a couple
of these, but this one was extremely insightful. I've never shared an account or had money issues in my relationship (we budget for future plans), but her having that as an outlet and it not fulfilling her, I get that. Nice episode.
This was very interesting, well presented and showed useful strategies for tackling Lorraine's spending problem. In fact I'm going to give this some thought and implement one or two ideas for my own shopping habit. I like Ben's quiet, calm and thoughtful approach. I hope all of the family are doing well.
Kind of love how these programmes are also a blast to the past. I was in highschool when this aired, and I remember the clothing magazines and ordering via the numbers of the items on the website after circling the items in the catalogs. It was a little different. Now everything is online, including catalogs.
I love her personality, so calm.
yeah she alone made this one of my fave ep. So chill, charming, very willing to improve and go with the process but also so honest about where she was at. I love that she valued privacy in many scenes over having her personal business become some cliche tv moment. She had majority of her life together minus the terrible spending which maybe had more to do with lack of communication than anything.
The lady host has great hair for so many years ago lol
It was an excellent idea to get her sewing for her daughter. And maybe even herself. She enjoys it to boot.
I had that same habit but I wanted a better house one day and knew I had to quit it cold turkey. I started taking the catalogs and filling out the order form which is where I got the thrill, it was not the ordering or the having of the thing itself. I toss the catalog away right then and put the order form in my little bill holder billfold. Later I see the nonsense and toss it out. If it's the arrival of the package that's the thrill that won't help. It cured me and when I moved all my stupid stuff to the better house, I regretted 90% of it and I've not sinned again. I also had to donate a lot of it. Some of which I had paid off not long before. I've been clean 6 years now.
I understand all too well the catastrophic effect of so much grief. It can manifest in many destructive ways, that you often don't realise until you're too far in. This is a very moving programme, I hope Lorraine is living more happily now.
Only catalogue I was addicted to was the Argos catalogues, especially the christmas ones, where you would sit and go through it and circle everything you wanted 😂😂

I dont like the way theyre dumping on her. Watching 3 kids as a career woman, which clearly fulfilled her. Kids are wonderful but its different producing your own money versus caring for 3 kids. Dad at least still has work & thats confidence-building & fulfilling. Mom should go back to work Asap. I just am cringing at how dad & the show is portraying her. This is not rocket science. I hate this bs rhetoric of only money mattering & then pressuring women to do all of the domestic work & that men make the money & women spend it. I dont think her partner is a jerk & really kind of gets it, but he could speak more kindly & support her being fulfilled/going back to non domestic work. Having her earn instead of making it like i make & she takes; thats gross, not nice, & not true. They're all kind of speaking to her condescendingly as if shes a child & not a grown woman. Shes buying good food for fucks sake. Not exactly heroin.
Preach on sister! I could not agree more! She is getting the best food she can possibly get for her family, her home is clean af, she buys things not only for herself but for her children too. She is a stay Home mom, after being a successful career woman, she does deserve something for all her hard work and effort.
She signed up for the show though ...
She is in debt. That's what they are trying to fix. Her spending isn't within her means. They are not criticising her as a mother. ☺️👍🏼
I have always been sensible with money by that I mean I never went overdrawn but I found bank statements from when I was in my twenties and it looks like I had a really good time. Restaurants, hotels in London and bills from cocktail bars and clothes shops. Do I actually remember any of this? No. Do I have anything to show for it? No. I guess I had less responsibilities as a young person. Maybe when I have paid the mortgage off and my daughter is a bit older we can return to loosening the purse strings again.
Its ok, bald-headed blabbering Benjamin makes me cry too
I think this is the first time they had a very hard time finding what the person in question is spending their money on. In all fairness she had a fridge/freezer full of food. He needs to let her talk . He is telling her how she feels, instead of just listening to how she feels.
I agree!!! I never heard him interrupt and talk over someone like that before. It was so noticeable that I was going to comment on it also.
I would be willing to bet that she would get rid of the excess things that she bought because she couldn’t stand the clutter. Lots of shopaholics buy and buy and buy and then hoard, but this lady is very tidy. And grocery shopping or eating out can get out of hand quickly if you don’t pay attention to what you’re spending. Add in hair care, skin care, nails, and things like that, there are many things that don’t clutter the house.
One of the better ones I’ve watched. I think they had decided as a couple before children, she would be a stay at home mama. The solutions were terrific
She needs a hobby she is interested in
Did you not watch this? - Jay re-introduced her to making clothes at home if sewing isn't a hobby, I don't know what is
They should do a follow up show to this series. I know it was a long time ago. But It would be interesting to know if this show helped them, when the cameras stopped rolling.
I know that Adele who was in another episode really turned a corner and made a success of her life - debt free to boot!
I hate the therapist!! Every one I've watched he interrupts, forces his views and opinions, I think he's bullcrap!
Think its very selfish when her husband is struggling to pay all these bills. I have always been careful with money you cut your coat according to your cloth!
It's selfish but it's also an addiction. Addiction IS a selfish disease Addictions can't be "willed away" and will power alone cannot over come an addiction. I haven't finished watching the video, but she's likely, very likely, trying to compensate for her feelings of inadequacy. She even saves the empty packaging, boxes and bags. Seeing those help her (falsely) feel better about herself. On another note, if I was the husband, I'd have their charge accounts cancelled or put on hold.
charmain killoran so ridiculously selfish. It actually disgusts me. You want to be selfish with your own money, go ahead, but this isn’t yours and it needs to go to your household and children and the man who makes it!!

OMG, catalogues lol. How many trees were felled for those back in the day? Every home would have about 5 or 6 knocking around. We used to get so excited when the new season one arrived 😉
i always encourage people who buy a lot of organic produce to try to grow some of their own. i say this not having a square inch of land to my name. everything i grow is either in pots / containers or in a large raised bed my dad made for me out of repurposed wood (lined); i use lots of creative trellis techniques including shaping "chicken wire," using tape and string and various dowels or branches i find. i cannot grow EVERYTHING (obviously fruit trees are out for now), especially because i live in a hard 4-season climate, but you would really be surprised what you can grow even in cooler parts of the world. i did 2 successions of cucumbers and i swear at this point i must have gotten 70 cucumbers ... and they're still coming! i have done green beans, peas, edamame, carrots, turnips, beets, radishes, cucumbers, kale, swiss and rainbow chard, scallions, watermelon (which i actually grew on a large dog kennel!), black beans, and now pumpkins, acorn squash, butternut squash, and spaghetti squash. that sounds like it would require a ton of space but my balcony is just about 4-5' wide and about 11' long. if you are creative about how you use space and pots / containers and vertical trellising, you can really grow a lot! and this has been my "experimentation year!" i also grow lettuce and tomatoes year-round indoors hydroponically. the indoor lettuce is extremely prolific and i can honestly say eating salads several times a week i have not had to buy lettuce from a store since february. on top of all of that, it would be a great activity to get kids involved in as well - it is not only fun but extremely educational both as a tool for them to have when they grow up but also to realize how much work and resources are really involved in getting the food that we all buy in the supermarket and usually don't think twice about! i am going to try out overwintering garlic and i am seriously considering investing in some small fruit trees that would do well in a sunny part of my apartment. but just the amount of $$ i have saved on lettuce alone ... if i just did my math correctly i have saved over $250 just on lettuce (and tomatoes and cucumbers to go in my salads - prices not included!) in those 8ish months! that's a lot of $$!
as a short ending to yet another horrendously long comment, i will just say that although growing your own food is wonderful and i think something all of us should do to the greatest extent that we can, we should also be supporting local farmers like the one featured in this video! and 10000% homegrown organic non-gmo and/or heirloom produce is SO MUCH BETTER TASTING than even their organic supermarket counterparts!
I'm really curious. You don't have even a square inch of land but you have a raised bed, trellises, and grow a LOT of different vegetables. I too do a lot of container growing and I'm wondering how you fit all this in.
A lot of nasty comments very judgemental people ... are you all perfect??
Totally agree with you.
Yep. x
Yeah they are all perfect. I can’t stand when they leave comments on a person’s appearance which has nothing to do with their spending.
Autumn A and there is nothing wrong with this lady at all. Even if she was unattractive it would be irrelevant. Might be some envious catty people doing it.
I have to draw the line at the lady "therapist" who knocked the lady for buying organic veggies & fruits. Buying pricey cuts of meat and pre-prepared meals is one thing, but organic produce shouldn't be a negative, imo.
Yeah I was thinking that too. Quality food is super important
Organic food is a scam geared towards stupid liberals.
Goes to show you how scientifically illiterate people are. Organic =/= no pesticides or more nutrition. It's no better than conventionally farmed produce and yet people pay an arm and a leg for it.

Yeah ' organic ' is kind of a bunch of hooey. Just buy regular. I bought an ' eco-cotton' tee ,I liked the design so it was worth it to me ,but I was curious what the hell ' eco-cotton' was . But then I looked into it and it does not sound much different than regular clothing production and the lower yields of the cotton crop can actually be a waste .
@@nikkijackson2981 You are WRONG!! Look up what pesticides do to our farm water. Look at the consequences of SEWAGE SLUDGE being used to "fertilize" OUR food!! The runoffs of pesticide laden crops is the same water that our livestock DRINK. Would YOU drink water with pesticides in it? Why would you want the animals you eat to drink it?
Legit convinced Benjamin is a serial killer. He’s so deadpan and creepy. Kinda oozes Hannibal without the charisma 😂
He def looks like he leads a double life
She's going to run out screaming unless she goes to work and has her own money to contribute and make decisions. Her husband needs to remember when she was working and contributing to their joint expenses.
I wonder why she shows so much love, attention and affection for the daughter but not the son...
Yep it's like half way through and you realise ohhhh she has two kids not just one
Maybe he didn’t want to be on camera
My thoughts too, feel sorry for the boy
Its just the way its filmed
Why can't people figure out themselves that they're trying to fill a hole or cover something from the past by spending way too much. That amazes me.
Gosh at 7.54 she is wearing a silk top with beading that I also has ordered from the La Redoute catalogue of the time!
also - why is it so difficult to tell people - tell the hubby - cut up the cards, close the accts - and go back on ' cash only' buying ! ..so when the cash is gone, the spending STOPS
She should know better since she worked in advertising lollll 🤣 my partner is in advertising and it’s the reason we hold on to our money. She should grow her own food that’s what I do. And £17 for riding horses wow it’s $100 an hour here and considered a luxury.
It's an addiction. Smokers know there addiction costs a fortune and may make them I'll but they still do it.
The psychologist became the most animated when he finally made the poor woman cry in his mock up counselling session. You can quite literally see the smile on his face and in his eyes when she cries. Apart from that hes a complete dullard
I just think Benjamin is a bit awkward and he is charged with getting to the emotional bottom of things for the camera.
Sounds to me like she just needs a hobby to take up her time, she is bored so she sits there with a catalogue buying things to stave off the boredom.
Why behind all shopoholics has to be trauma? Seriously sometimes people are just bored, she left good job for stay at home mum , but she didn't do transition, she shopped like before, maybe even more with time on her hands..Her husband is equally responsible for allowing it...People are spoiled living over the means...Why she doesn't go to work, even part time when husband is at home Saturday or sundays would give her to be tired from work appreciated more the money, she would have break from all the times at home..Where is the little girl, when she shop? The therapist is useless, every person in this planet has some trauma in some stage in life, and to blame irrational behaviour on it is just ignorant!!! I wish this spoiled people go into developing countries, where all family has to live on €400 a month, and pay all bills, eat and get clothes ...They would starve, but half countries in Eeastend block live like this for years, and manage it..So what is wrong here?..
Omg so true
Watching these documentary makes me think about my spending , even i dont spend alot
Poor bloke working all the hours under the sun for what? Material stuff for his wife, I feel so bad for him.
Exactly i would never expect this of my partner
I feel bad for her. She must be bored stiff.
@@gcastrell i feel bad for her as well don't get me wrong but this is not the way :((. At least she's worked on it
Why they came to a conclusion to have her become a housewife and im sure she was making more
The anti-organic comments from the host , when she went through the fridge, are really annoying. How about we address mega food corporations who process food that comes out as garbage or the farmers who add pesitcides, herbicides, etc to all crops instead? We have a right to decent , non-toxic food! That's not a bloody luxury.
brilliant vid!
She needs a job, a social life and a makeover to boost her confidence, not a fake therapist. That man has not been properly trained and is not a therapist!
Great message
I just don't get bottled water. It's cheaper out of a tap. 👍🏼☺️
If she's a housewife, how come, in all those shots of her shopping, there is no disgruntled two year old in tow? Where's the kid? And if the kid goes to daycare, then guess what, it's time mom went back to work.
This is not USA, nursery not daycare, and people are not manipulated to believe that giving your life away working like a dog with no health care, benefits or maternity in return is something to be proud of.
Dear god. The therapist is absolutely not letting her talk at all!
Omg how is it hard to feed a family lol?! I shop at Aldi and meal plan. We eat really well tbh. It doesn't have to be hard.
He interrupts way 2 much. I couldn't talk to him. Don't put words in her mouth
her clothes do not look expensive
Also, they acted like £35,00 salary was a lot!! That’s nothing!
@@betterbetty3542 that is a lot to the average person! The average wage is around £19,000
Alicia Hawkins oh... my bad. I wonder what that translates into dollars. Maybe that’s where my misunderstanding is stemming from
Beth Anderson this was in 2005, £35,000 was a decent salary back then
marsha k my thoughts too
It's interesting to watch documentaries that are set in different countries (I'm from the U.S.)
i like the styles you get from different countries, i prefer the more analytic layout of many of the british ones. not so in your face but is still very engaging content. that being said i'm not from the states but i do enjoy a little dose of guilty-pleasure american reality tv here and there hahah
Right? I marvel at their kitchens and small, closed off rooms compared to the architecture style of modern American homes.
@@pamelataylor8758 Yeah, the layouts seem a bit claustrophobic and sad to me.
Spendaholics: designer clothes for kids!
Me: walmart🤣 and 1 nice pair of tennis shoes.
Fill your life with love, people, hobbies instead of stuff
Where do we find people
She needs to go back to work. Obviously being home doesn’t cut it. In 200 a month for clothes and shoes? Doesn’t she have enough?
I feel this on a deep level. My shopping involves high end brands for far less, though. Help :(
Why does anyone need at least £200 a month to buy shoes & clothes? Why was it even suggested. It should be zero unless absolutely necessary.
Narrator: Stocking up on fruit and veg costs 90£ a week.
The music: AAAAAAAAEEEEAAAAAÆEEEEEEUUUUUGHHHHH
She obviously has a favourite child too. Which isn't going to cause problems later on down the line is it? That said she's clearly trying to relive the happy part of her childhood through her daughter. Again which will cause problems further down the line.
Nah, girl clothes are cute and girls like nice, pretty clothes far more often than boys.
I'm sure she buys her son clothes, but he appreciates it less, so he gets less.
@@diy_cat9817 it's more about her son noticing his mum is playing favourite so he will then reject his mum later in life when he wakes up
@@bdel80 I doubt it.
I've known lots of mothers with sons and they're the ones who've told me that. Boys just don't care about clothes till their teenagers. If ever.
