You two are beautiful people. Pink Floyd’s music has always made me feel things, things that I keep guarded, try to avoid thinking about or feeling. I know people who can’t listen to their music for that reason… they don’t want to feel that, to tap into those emotions, memories. For me, it’s the opposite. I want to feel that, I need to feel that. It’s why after all these years, so many of these songs still bring tears to my eyes. It’s not sadness, it’s humanity. Which is the single most important thing for all of us. I worry about people who actively try to avoid feeling these emotions.

Bro, you just described my feelings about PF music, to me, it’s like I need to listen to their music, and when it brings tears to my eyes it’s a beautiful feeling, it’s like with those tears, all my sadness, fears, hatred and all those ugly feelings are flushed out of me, like when I read the Bible or go to church, that feeling you get, you want to be nice to people. I know all of you PF fans feel me.
Don’t let evil catch up on you, listen to PF , it’s like a religious experience.

Progrock concept album ... loosely based on George Orwell's political fable Animal Farm, the album's lyrics describe various classes in society as different kinds of animals: predatory dogs, despotic pigs and an unquestioning herd of sheep. The album is a critique of capitalism.

All floyd fans know that feeling, as a band they can touch people in an amazing way, its the reason why so many people become lifelong fans. Personally I've been listening to them for 40 years and there's never a week when I dont listen to Animals or Dark side or Meddle or Wish you were here. A significant portion of my working days are spent driving to and from appointments or meetings, basically im getting paid to listen to Pink Floyd, how sweet
    Is that 😅😅

A fan since my music teacher turned us on to animals given my tormented past from mom deerest ( screw the spelling ) my scars are mental and physical . Pink Floyd helped shinks could not my adopted parents🙏🙏RIP. Could not . In time I was able to say Mom you were and are my mom dad die I was 16 ( adopted no chance to make peace )
Pink Floyd songs lyrics help so much . I was on edge of suicide. Drugs booze at 18 kicked out of home at 16 I was a mental wreck.

With opiates your emotions have been suppressed for so long they can be difficult to deal with during that period and music can be a great help. It's fantastic that Floyd have also been a help to you 👍. Floyd were a favourite, also Hendrix , The Cure, The Clash, Janis Joplin and of course The Beatles

I was asked by a friend once, if I was stuck on a deserted island and I could have one album to listen to what would it be, my answer, Animals, Pink Floyd's masterpiece of the human condition. "Dogs" those who "throw their weight around" at the behest of the bosses or "the Pigs" and we the "Sheep" taking the brunt of the force. Thank you for reacting to some amazing music.

Andrei and Dominika greetings from Ireland. I want you to imagine three Irish farm boys in a bedroom upstairs in a one hundred year old granite farmhouse and playing this album on a stereo system built from scratch by my 17yo brother. The room filled with the cold winter air (no central heating or weather glazed windows). All the farm work finished. Our arms and legs tired from the days work and with permission from our parents we placed this record on the turntable and as the seconds went by we became immediatley revitalised. With our agricultural experience we very much aware of the characterisation of the animals. It is wonderful to see you and others still get emotional about such creations.

Well this is why you guys are my favorite music reactors - some others just say things like oh what a pretty song, and that guitar, wow, ok thanks for watching. Big deal, right? You guys always go deep and even a little personal, which makes your reactions so much more worthwhile. I do understand what Andrei means about being touched very deeply inside. We each have our own experiences that we bring to it, so it means different things to each of us, but yes, PF can take you on amazing and meaningful internal journeys. I listen to Animals when political and business leaders do things to screw the rest of us and it ticks me off - Animals is a kind of catharsis, and just as relevant today as it was in the 70's. Other albums for different moods. I do strongly recommend listening to the entire album, perhaps late at night with headphones on, just lie down and close your eyes and listen to it all, start to finish. When the music ends, you will feel that you have been on an amazing journey. Shine On!

Most real reactions to Pink Floyd I've ever seen. You are right that Pink Floyd is a more mature Musical experience. Sir, you are not the first to shed a tear when listening to Pink Floyd...and yet other days you can listen to the very same song and find yourself smiling with happiness. Pink Floyd songs have so many different meanings, and each time it can mean something or take you to a different place every single time.
Please listen to Pigs (Three Different Ones) its the track just after this one on the Animals Album....the outro is some of Gilmours best guitar.

I feel you brother. It can have the same affect on me. This song alludes to "The Stone". A common theme. Different interpretations, but I believe when they say "dragged down by the stone" it refers to all the hate and fear and anger and bad will that one with low morality might accumulate during life that inevitably leads to lonely and miserable existence and then demise.

    • @MrDuneedon
      @MrDuneedon 11 месяцев назад +4

I love the imagery of the stone during this song. It’s symbolic of power-the weight that is “thrown around”-but the other side of that sword is that the same “weight” will also drown you in the end. Rather brilliant stuff from Roger here.

Animals is a dark album... but brilliant. Though the words were written by Waters, I love that Gilmour sings the first half. Give a listen to an early version of Dogs when it we called "You've Got To Be Crazy", it is awesome. As is the early version of Sheep, "Raving and Drooling." Be well and keep the reactions coming! To those who complain, pleeez grow up. There's nothing to apologize for, especially when you're producing such excellent content. "Animals" is one of my favorite Floyd discs, but, for some reason, tends to be overlooked somewhat. With so many other great discs,...i.e. "Dark side of the moon ', "The Wall", etc... animals turned me from a casual pink floyd fan into an obsessed one. in may 1977 my friend came over to my house and said, "pink floyd are playing at anaheim (california) stadium tonght. we should go!". i only knew them from songs i had heard on the radio (mostly from the dark side of the moon). we sat on the outfield and that night changed everything. the next day i went out and bought animals, and throughout that summer i bought all the albums in their back catalog, immersing myself in their music. by the time i started my junior year in high school that september i was a changed person. both my taste in music and my outlook on life were significantly different. i can't imagine what i would be like today if i hadn't gone to that concert in 1977.

I love your beautiful smiles. When you are feeling the music and you look at each other and and smile i know you guys are in a beautiful place and it makes my heart soar. Nothing but music and love can do that to people.

“And you believe everyone at heart is a killer” such an awesome line, and a big glimpse into Waters psyche I believe

Animals is definitely my favorite PF album. It evokes such a strong emotional response.
Your reactions are so authentic and wonderful! Thanks for rekindling the feeling I had hearing this when it was released!

I've known this song since it came out but I've never listened to this remix. I like it a lot because many more acoustic layers are audible that you cannot hear on the regular record. Thank you so much

I was expecting for this reaction from you. The album Animals is a concept album masterpiece! Inspired by the Animal Farm of George Orwell, each song - animal represents a human type in our societies. The lyrics are "dark" and cynical but they compete straight the wonderful music and orchestration

And I love you two! Just go with your heart with them, that's what their purpose was in this world, to connect with your heart and soul. It's a beautiful thing ❤️

    - Yes! Very perceptive, Dominika. The "animals" are indeed metaphors (allegory) for people, and human nature - in fact, the different animals represent different aspects of human nature.
    - It's a fantastic album :)

I really like your reactions especially when you react to P.F. There is no shame in showing emotions when overwhelmed by certain music. For me, music appeals to me much more than a movie, because then I can really switch off and give free rein to my feelings. Listening to music is like reading a good book with your ears, it gives space to your imagination. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from HH (germany)

Music is LITERAL therapy for me. It has been since I was a kid and I'm 47 now. I listen to music EVERY DAY and I have different genres or groups I put on based on how I feel.
I would be LOST without music. I'm a big Paul Weller fan and when he was asked what was the difference between his music and other people's he just said 'I MEAN IT..!'

Hello Dominika and Andrei, as always, your reactions to Pink Floyd are priceless to me! Dogs is surely a masterpiece from the album Animals, one of my favourite. That's always amazing to see you guys having deep feelings to their music, as I had listening for the first time when I was 13 years old with their "The Dark Side Of The Moon" album in 1973. I have two feelings, seeing you discovering their music, I'm so happy for you, but you didn't have so much time to digest all that phenomenal work as I had!
