    As a long time foxhole player, I really like your more mil-sim approach to foxhole. Despite being newer players, you guys were fighting as effectively as some veteran Foxhole clans. Just goes to show the basics of combat translate well in game, and once you get more familiar with the mechanics you guys could really start. I will say though, as someone who focuses on Logi, 50k Bmats is not really as much as you might think. An good sized artillery op can blow right through that in a matter of minutes, and Landing operations can easily hit 1 million. It really emphasizes teamwork, and working together as a faction to win the war as no one player could ever produce that much. That's one of the reasons I love this game so much; we have to work together and have built a closer community than most other games.

    Alright, here are a few tips:
    Use SMGs to disable trucks, 2 guys with SMGs will disable trucks way more often than 5 guys with rifles.
    Always have at least two medics when operating, running the Medic Uniform or Outriders Mantle (if you need to be undetected by radar)
    - Always bring the Trauma Kit with Plenty of Plasma and a Medic Kit.
    - If one medic goes down, the other medic prioritizes that medic.
    When capturing a truck full of Basic Materials, another option instead of dumping them is to entrench there.
    - Build Rifle Pillboxes, Anti Tank Pillboxes, Watchtowers, whatever you want. You can hide inside them during fights, and you're making the Bmats unrecoverable by making them your own structures.
    - Obviously, this will draw lots of attention; make the call when to stay, when to resupply, or when to go.
    Don't use RPGs to disable trucks, use them to fend off tanks that come to QRF you. The Anti Tank Rifle is a lighter alternative to the RPG, and therefore you can store more ammo inside.
    *The deeper into enemy lines you go, the less resistance you will face and the more damage you can do.*
    - I'm talking about another hex deeper than you planned to go; that's when you find people/facilities harvesting raw materials, and if you're lucky, they're the least defended.
    Another possibility is bringing one of your own CVs to a secluded place in enemy lines and setting up a Partisan Base. You'll have a place to store your loot, a place to submit enemy crates, but if it's found out, and the enemy captures the base, you're basically giving back loot.
    *Only do this if you're confident you make a base that won't be found*
    I'm a foxhole vet, and I've been looking for a potential Partizan Clan to join. I'm not the best at it; but I do love cutting the enemy backlines.
    Edit: OH, ALSO WIND IS A BITCH TO COMPENSATE FOR WHEN TARGETING ARTY, I understand it makes Arty a bit more challenging, so it's not just point and click; but I fucking hate wind.
    But still, compensate for wind direction, look at the flags on defenses or watchtowers, and see how fast the flag is fluttering. You're working on a scale of 1 to 5, considering wind speed. This is something you will learn to tell from experience.
    Also, to Whiplash, since they seem to like the LMGs, it's faster to unequip, change locations/turn around, then re-equip than it is to be always carrying the thing. It's meant for stationary positions; but you can just reset your positions by unequipping then re-equipping

    • @jamesc.8376
      @jamesc.8376 2 года назад +39

      you're giving it back but it's unlikely anybody is going to use it, especially if it's off-road in the boonies. if its mostly their stuff youre basically misallocating their resources to some backline decay-trap. if some poor lifer actually sits there pulling uncrated supply out of it piece by piece that's their time to waste I guess. one less person doing something useful.

      This is also the same reasons why tap raids work - simply by destroying the town base of a major town and "tapping" it (placing the blueprint) most of the items in the town hall and any further factories/refineries/etc you destroy disappear and they cannot be rebuilt for several days.

It's not like games such as Far Cry, where you take down a MASSIVE supply line, but all of the enemies are still equipped with good shit. Veteran Mortar Tip: group your mortarmen around the spotter, really close packed. The distance and azimuth the binos give are relative to the spotter; so the further the mortar is from the spotter, the worse the accuracy will be. Additionally, mortar teams should use staggered firing, to ensure a continuous rain of mortars on target.
    Bonus tip: the corners of your screen provide the longest view distance when aiming. Therefore, rotating the camera so the corner always faces the enemy is a good idea.

    Heres a tip for when playing arty, you gotta stand at the same angle as your mortar team!!!! If youre 5m to the south of your mortar, you would have to triangulate to give a good angle for your mortar. You dont do that math. Stand on top of your arty piece.

    • @pyranna2003
      @pyranna2003 2 года назад

      Learning how to triangulate is very useful though. It's essential for long range forward observers. But you don't do the math either way, use the foxhole arty calculator.

    Hey, don’t know how recently you did this op, but typically in Foxhole you want to wait at least a couple weeks, preferably a war, before posting content of your operations. Don’t want to accidentally give away intel. Great vid, hope to see more.

      The op is pretty old at this point. The lines are completely different in the infrastructure, defensive positions have all changed significantly. I definitely considered the OPSEC impact before posting. Not super worried about it.

    Hey CPG, as I watched I kept expecting you to use the Seaport in Ulster Falls or the Storage Facility at Prairie Bazaar given your desire to secure your materials and such. I'm not an expert on their usage, yet, but I believe you can create a reserved stockpile in which to store your stuff, though you may or may not have had to have made it or gotten it from a public stockpile (not sure exactly how that bit works). From there you could have created your BB closer to the front, and then maybe had some people run logistics to keep it stocked as needed just to keep the supplies in a more secure location further back. Also, it wasn't clear from the video if you did this or not, but you may have been able to more efficiently transport the supplies from the back lines in shipping containers on flatbeds and boats (but maybe that wasn't the best move for reasons I'm unaware of). Mostly I just kinda like how the bulk shipping stuff works, and I was hoping to see it put into practice. In any case, I think things worked out well in the end.

    I was thinking of playing this game with a group of guys from a gaming group I'm in, but the thing that holds me back a bit is this - what stops people from stealing all the supplies that your private group has amassed? It'd be super frustrating to spend so much time grinding for an operation, only to find that a bunch of randoms took all the supplies for whatever reason. Is there a way to lock things?

      Just got to manage your lots well, and keep vehicles in private storage where possible. Its not perfect, but its more workable than you think. Most people are lazy and will only steal readily available vehicles. Partisans, you got to watch out for.

      You can't stop allies from taking supplies but say you and your friends set up an outpost in a quiet area . It's liable to stay relatively untouched because its not needed for the battle but if you place your base in a more strategically friendly position you are liable to have 100+ players using your base as a spawn it all just depends

    • @ddgaxelnilsson7855
      @ddgaxelnilsson7855 2 года назад +1

      For storage depots and seaports, you can place your materials in a private stockpile with a code. For bunker bases, you just have to pray. Also, players of the enemy faction can’t open the inventory of a storage depot, seaport, bunker base or relic/town base.
