By my count, 7/10 people crossing died, and the entire security team (plus the news crew) were wiped out. That is one serious mortality rate for this border crossing 😂
In near eastern border, I think it was one of Israels, all of this happens, plus a lot of “flirting”, that is more like molestation. Borders are shite.
Never thought I'd see someone in 2024 playing "Border Patrol" on ArmA 3. This was the funnest little game mode back on Operation Flashpoint on the original Xbox.
@@jonathanoriley8260 And very boring if not done with a bit of extra thought. But this was great, one of the few checkpoint ops I would genuinly enjoy if I played it
@@globmonkey200716102 I wouldn't even say it would be boring milsim wise, but it would need more tasks than to just let people through or detain them. The problem with RP missions is that only the player who's roleplaying and the Zeus is having fun. The rest is securing the perimeter, thinking "what a boring mission this is". The RP needs to include at least majority, ideally all players. Or give them some other meaningful tasks in the meantime. But it's not easy (on the other hand not impossible) to do in a static mission like checkpoint control.
it would be cool if the successfully smuggled weapons and contraband would be sold/used in a rebellion/war after the border crossing event and the fighters had to use whatever items smuggled in

My family and I visited Abhazia twice as a vacation destination. The russian side of the border gad good security, many borderguards and so on while the Abhazian side had like one or several guys, I don't remember exactly, he checked our passports for a brief moment and that was it. Russians asked us some questions to verify our identity, and the Abhazian borderguard just looked at our passports and said:"Alright, you are free to go".
Off of this video I winded up going into a rabbit hole of trying to find out if "Abkhazia" was even a real place simply because at first I thought the flag looked fake as all hell, only to then see the foreign affairs website at 2:15, learned about an entirely new place that I'd never have any idea of existing prior and more importantly how they make their moonshine.
Ignpring the whole "dont ask me why a fictional country from ARMA lore is bordering a real, semi-recognised, breakaway state" i also didnt know abkhasia existed lol
30:35 can I just clink a glass of wine to the editor? All my respect to video editors who have keen hearing and a perfect understanding of english. o7
I used to this with friends a lot in various scenarios many many years ago. From police checkpoint things, to big government border checkpoints, to military defensive forces doing checkpoints.
As a resident of Abkhazia, I will say that our border guards do not really want to check documents and just look at your passport for 10 seconds and let you through🙂
@@alexletiny5155 if we say without jokes, the salary of the border service is higher than the national average. But in Abkhazia, thanks to its political situation, it is possible to maintain a high standard of living
Whats the best job at a checkpoint? I bet the watch tower is chill other than if you miss something youre in trouble. And the coffee and bathrooms are probably in the main office. Main office probably has AC but you’re probably stuck doing computer work all day. Guard has to deal with people but maybe gets to chill in between that. Security just has to stand around and be present mostly but they can’t just like sit or goof off

AHh this brings back memories. I used to do these exact type of missions with my old arma 3 group. These checkpoint missions can be some of the most fun you have on arma. One time I strapped C4 to a go-kart and then proceeded to drive into the checkpoint blasting running in the 90s and then bombing the entire checkpoint.
Really fun stuff man. Tip from someone who has worked too man ECPs, have a lead man to control incoming so they can't get eyes on ongoing searches, always take drivers and passengers away from the vehicles to the other side of blast barriers. Most of the issues with customers come from finding stuff where they can see you found it lol
