    Lol.... good man, I love the idea of a 'holiday build', now that's dedication to the hobby! 🙏
    Turned out great Addam, loved what you done with the paint to eliminate that big sticker!
    She didn't stay clean for long, but at least she kept away from the drink this time! 🤣

      Thanks! I could not bring myself to putting those big stickers across the roof to get shredded and tattered. This is the third year building something at the beach and I will continue to do it. I already have next years build planned out!!! It really did go from pristine to completely gross super fast! The second time we took it out it was even worse! Poor thing tripled in weight from all the san in it and on it! It was a great time and I did keep this one from attempting to surf!

      I did the Blitzer Beetle last year and the Rising Fighter the year before that. It is becoming a tradition now and I am going to keep it up! This time I brought a built on to drive while I was building the other. Thankfully I was building the other as I fried the electronics in the Beetle on its trip out!! The buggy went from spotless to completely a mess really fast! It weighed as much as an 1/8th scale nitro buggy by the time we were done!! I was shocked at how much sand was in it and on it when I picked it up! It was a great time and already have plans for something to build next year!!

      Oh man, both of those are really cool kits! I recently looked for one of the pink kits and boy have they gotten up there in price! LOL! But then again almost all of the "not in stock" kits have gotten that way! It was a great time doing a nice relaxing build on vacation and then getting to rip it around on the beach! The poor thing weighed as much as a nitro 1/8th scale buggy by the time it was over though!

    ☆Great idea! Painting the center! I was just surfing the Internet (not 🏄‍♂️ Cape Hatteras unfortunately! 😔) to look at other paint jobs done to the Neo Scorcher because I am about to paint mine! Yours looks great and it looks like that GT Tuned motor really set it off!
    I have a Diamond Hobby 25Kg servo, Fire Pheonix XeRun 120a esc, 3800KV - 3652 motor (all in sky blue). I used the same C.F. shox towers you used and I also used other mounting hardware!!!! 🤣. I put a coating of tire C.A. glue around the outer edges of the C.F. towers, helps prevent them from delimitating.
    I used Tamiya center driveshaft and cups, ball bearings, GPM B.B. steering, GPM Turnbuckles, Z.D. Racing 1/10 silver shox w/ dark blue springs, TT01 Steel gear Differentials, Tamiya A.W. grease with extra up front, I waterproofed all my running gear using M.G. Chemicals Conformal Coating.
    I have built four TT-02 touring cars & one TT-02 Rally car, so it only made sense to build the TT-02B! I want to try to build or get a TT-02T Truck! But that seems a hard one to find or even get parts for, just need the bumper and the body now but I may substitute the Tamiya VW Amarok pick up truck body for the Sand Shaker body, it seems a close enough style and the last Sand Shaker body I saw on the bay went for nearly $200 used!!!
    Ty for the video, the advise for painting, the time you took to post it all, and even the music you used!
    ☆btw, our family has vacationed in Kill Devil Hills, Avon, Duck, Nags Head, Cape Hat, since 1974 and love it more & more every year!😊

      I am glad it gave you a few tips. I hate decals that are going to get chewed up on the first roll over so to me painting the roof in made a lot of sense. It is a pretty easy one to mask off as well. You really decked out your build!! It is going to be a real ripper for sure and seems like you covered all the bases! I tend to not upgrade but so much as there are just so many things you can get next thing you now you went from a $150 kit to a $350 kit!! There is nothing wrong with that at all but I would rather have the $150 kit and another $200 kit as well! That is the great thing about the hobby is there is no right or really wrong way to do it. The only wrong way to do is to be a bully or a know-it-all pain to others! LOL!
      Sadly we had to cancel our scheduled trip down to the beach this year. Just was not going to be feasible. I am going to miss it and I already had my beach build purchased and all ready to go for the trip planned at the end of next month. I am just going to do it here and paint in front of a fan and sprinkle sand in all my gear to make it seem like we are there! LOL!

      It was a ton of fun and the problem I had is pretty much all of the sand was very wet. We could only go out at low tide due to the high winds pushing the surf line up to the dunes most of the day. It was still a bunch of fun running it and you can't imagine how heavy that thing was one we got done, it probably tripled in weight! We had a great vacation down there and enjoyed ourselves all week. Back home now and it is time to do clean up on both cars and get them back ready to run again. Take care Robby!

      Hey Addam, great video man. I was wondering which buggy you think I should get. I am looking for a 4wd buggy which is able to run on grass and gravel. Perhaps a higher ground clearance too for those sneaky bumps of grass. So far my options are the DF-03, the manta ray, this, a hotshot 2024, plasma edge 2 or maybe even a squash van. Those are a lot of options so I don’t know which one is the best out of them, or a random one which is better than all of those.

I normally don't do a lot of hop ups on build but for this one I had collected a few bits and pieces for it so why not! one of these days I will probably start doing more upgrades to things I still have quite a few kits I want to collect so I would rather divert the hop up funds to that at the moment. it is nice to look at though, I can see the charm of them!

    I allso have build me this nice car but not tested it outside yet since I wonder if the esc can handle the tamiya super stock bz 7.2v battery with 23T pinion. I have the orginal spur gear that the car did comes with. I wonder simple what the draw of amp the motor may do. Or if 75 amp esc can be used? The esc I use in that car is Tamiya tble-04s

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  10 месяцев назад +1

      I amm not sure what the amperage would end up being, I am not good with electrical math! LOL! I know the BZ is a 23t turn motor and the 04S Esc should be able to handle it with the stock gearing. They are not as good as the 1060 ESC most of the new ones come with but I know a lot of guys have run the BZ and lower turn motors with the 04S ESCs without issue. 23t motors are the lowest recommended for that TBLE-04S ESC although others have run 19t on them without issue but I wouldn't push your luck. On stock gearing you should be fine.

    • @hobbyrc1
      @hobbyrc1 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@AddamsPlayground I may try but with cooling fan on that esc. But on long run I think I will change it to: Axial 31480 AE-5L or Mstyle E60WP. The 23T pinion is max recomened for that gear ratio with that spur gear set up. And I think run on flat ground for only short time on max speed will be ok but yes best to change esc on the long runs.

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  3 месяца назад

      On off-road you don't notice the steering slop as much. It is still there but not as noticeable. I think getting the steel pivot balls is all that is really needed. Inherently all the TT-02 based kits have a fair amount of play in the front end by its design and so many pivoting and slightly loose fitment.

    Nice video man. I was wondering which buggy I should get from tamiya. I want something which can be driven on gravel and grass, and a decent ground clearance for the bumps on the grass. So far I am interested in the DF-03, the hot shot 2024, this one, the manta ray, plasma edge 2, or maybe even a squash van. These are only the options I have looked at, so I’m not sure if there are others that are better.

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  5 месяцев назад +1

      A good all around starter buggy is the DT03s and the Blitzer beetle. The both have good ground clearance and are not difficult to build or find parts for. The only disadvantage to the blitzer beetle is the hard body which makes it a little heavier and can break in bad crashes. I run a lexan shell on mine from Team Blue Grove so it is lighter and tougher. The DF03 is a good one as well but some parts can be difficult to find at times. I have not built the Manta Ray yet but it and the HotShot should do well also. The TT02b like the Plasma Edge 2 and the Neo scorcher sit much lower and don't do as well on the grass and gravel. The chassis drags too much and can slow it down and overheat the motor if in the grass too much.

    • @AddamsPlayground

      @@mosescheng5827 Really there is nothing different other than the body. That being said beware of the really inexpensive version, Most of them come with the torque tuned motor and the oil filled dampers but occasionally you will run across a cheap kit on Amazon, eBay or elsewhere, usually around $100 and those most likely are the kits without the oil filled shocks and TT motor included. It is well worth the addition $35-40 to get the better version. In general the Neo Fighter is the cheaper of the two.
