TT-01 and TT-02 are surprisingly versatile chassis that can handle some serious abuse not to mention the amount of parts available for them both official and unofficial is awesome cant remember who makes them but there are alloy oil filled diffs available for both TT-01 and TT-02 and sure if you'd be interested for this project but there is now TT-02 carbon fibre lower deck and alloy diff housings on ebay similar to the chassis you used on the bling project
Oh wow! This is going to be an absolutely fantastic adventure!!!!😳👍. Can't wait to see how this progresses. Im going to be glued to this. BRILLIANT!!!😃👍👍
Ditch the FRP and go Carbon on the shock towers. Consider running a front shock tower on the rear as the suspension travel on the front and rear is about the same. DF-02 Metal diffs fit. Also get the rear 1 degree alloy rear hubs.
Thanks for this video, ive got two unbuilt neo scorchers and you have given me some new ideas of what to do with them.ive got some carbon shock towers and alloy shaft and cups already.
i said to do this over a year ago when you were running on the tammy arena bmx track.... get a car, run it stock then do incremental upgrades to see the performance differential against a modern buggy..............
Nice video, as always, Glenn. I'm looking forward to my next project: a TT-02B Neo Scorcher kit running a Team Blue Groove Marui Coors Thunderbird body. I'm calling it the NRC TT-Bird.
Another great video Glenn 👍 Can't wait to see this come together. Also been thinking about going back to an indoor track for a bit of racing action but it's been 30 plus years since the last time. You may have helped me make my mind up to go for a visit 👌💪😁 Thanks for your time my friend 👍 People making donations to your channel is so awesome, some really great people within this hobby, restores a bit of faith in human nature 🙏 Happy RCing
Hey Glen, as a TT-02 nutter, I’ll be following this series. In my opinion, if you can’t get/afford the genuine Tamiya Universals, I suggest the Yeah Racing ones. Compared to some of the GPM stuff you can get anywhere, they’re a little more consistent in fit, the quality is about bang on with Tamiya and they’re really, really affordable. Used their G45 axles and drive cups on mine and I couldn’t be happier. Saved about $70USD going with the Yeah Racing parts instead of the Tamiya ones. Also, funny thing the TT-02R comes with a 27T pinion so to anyone buying the High Speed Gear Set with the 68T spur, change to the TB-03/FF03 27T pinion. I would say you’d be okay to use any 48P pinion but I’ve had issues with the gears themselves being sized differently than the Tamiya ones (Yeah Racing Delrin spurs are smaller than the Tamiya 48P/06mod) so be aware if no information exists on whether you can use a particular pinion and spur set of varying brands. I have used the Yeah Racing hard coated aluminum pinion in one of my cars and it’s certainly better than the stock Tamiya one. Tamiya DO make hard coated pinions but good luck finding any actually for sale. Amain Hobbies ProTek line of 48P pinions would be a good option and some people have used them too which is good because Yeah Racing doesn’t have a 27T option for Tamiya, only 26T. *Edit: they do make a 27T 48P pinion but they don’t say it works with Tamiya though I’m quite sure it will. You may also have to use the adjustable Yeah Racing or similar motor mount for a non-Tamiya combination gear set to work properly. Again, use non-Tamiya gears in your own TT-02 at your own risk! Lastly, as blingy as the aluminum steering set is for the TT-02 really is, there is a benefit to it. On the standard TT-02, the steering absolutely SUCKS and the aluminum steering set as expensive as it may seem, makes the steering tighter and more precise. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking into the TT-02. You will have to use Loctite on the threads of the grub screws holding the steering posts in place if you do get the upgrade though. Mine didn’t need it but just a heads up if you get it as the posts were a bane to get to fit exactly as the included manual said. Took two hours of fiddling to get it just right and that was just the steering posts! While on the subject of steering, get the steering servo mount. Not the RM-01 right side mounts but the actual servo mount designed for the TT-02. Along with the servo saver, the car will feel more precise as the servo won’t have a chance to flex as much as it would on the stock plastic mounts. Anyways Glen, stellar job and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the Neo Scorcher.
Thats just Amazing Glenn, How ironic ive just ordered another TT02B Myself Happining to be the Neo Scorcher and plan was to run it as the other TT02B ive got is the PLasma Edge 2 with almost every option in blue alloy and also ordered those new TTo2b/DF03 shockers but the plasma edge 2 was a shelfie and i always wanted to run it but too scared to scratch it up but now's my chance to build exactly what you've got in the pipeline an actual runner with constant progression to better and better performance - now im excited lol , also would love to take this to a track only 20 mins down the road being an off road would be grreat fun , im sure and would also like to see how the 415MS takes the track on the on road side of things , gotta get out and use and enjoy beside being stuck inside building and just building and buying up more and more ok enough blubber from me now thanks again Glenn for Putting OOffmphh back into the simple not stupid crazy expensive side of RC and how much fun it can be thats just Superb :-))
YES! This is a project I’ll be following with interest! Don’t be afraid to add bling though lol.. everyone likes to look good going fast! … enjoy the journey 😎
Really looking forward to this. Last year I picked up a TT02B and have some of the parts you mentioned but haven't put them on yet. Going to have to now! 😁
I think this is a great project that will set you far above similar channels. I love seeing Tamiya buggies on the track, it’s way more interesting than watching them go back and forth across a flat car park.
Wow, massive thanks to Christopher! What an amazing idea for a series of vids, love the idea of including a bit of actual racing into Tamiya Legends and especially pushing a "entry" Tamyia to it limits! Great stuff, very excited myself.
Great minds think alike! I was thinking along the same lines, want to start doing some local club racing. I've been practicing in my backyard with a TT02B on a decent size figure 8/Oval Track for a couple years now. There's a Club about an hour away from me...NEXT PURCHASE! is a decent race buggy =)) I'll be keeping an eye out for some Pro build tips on this TT02B Build Series.
Hey, greetings from germany... Great challenge and a great idea to do the TT-02B project. IMHO, you should think about the alloy steering, for which you have to order Hopups 54574 and 54575. These come with ballbearings, what makes steering more precise. And: If I change my wheels, i hated how often the pins fall out, so i ordered Hopup 9404205, and i´m very happy with them.... Tried aftermarket-parts, but at least i always ended up ordering original Tamiya Hopups. Looking forward to see part 2 - ?. Greetings, Martin
Wow, I built basically the exact same car during lockdown. Same parts you mentioned, but also with the hi speed gear set, 3degree rear hubs and df03(?) metal diffs and a hard black chassis.... I also built a AE B74 to race as the TT02 was just a basher buggy to chase my son's Lunchbox around. Damn thing ended up costing about the same as the (admittedly heavily discounted) Associated 4wd. Not really compared them to drive yet, but I was intending to have a blast on the track with the Tamiya at some point.
What a cool project!! I raced for about 8 years back in late '80's - early '90's (RC10, Ultima, CAT) and I absolutely loved it. Today, the nearest track is very far away so I just run on a backyard track but I really miss competing with my racer buds. Anyway, I recently built a Neo Scorcher and I'm quite impressed with it; for a cheap 4wd, it's not bad. Very much looking forward to this series. Oh, and I actually like the Neo Scorcher body set but I'm certain what you have planned will look awesome. 👍😊
Some sod literally just bought the Neo Scorcher I mentioned yesterday on your community post lol. I'll have to see if I can get another TT-02B by the end of January so I can follow along with your build :) Also I'm really looking forward to your racing idea. I've had a similar thought of trying to get a more budget Tamiya car to compete alongside proper race kits, possibly making a sleeper-esque build. Sadly I don't have the money for that or any race tracks nearby (I think the closest one is like 3 days away lol) so I'll be living my dream through you :D
I've started a similar project with my neo scorcher, alloy shaft, cups, steering so far but I went with the carbon fibre shock towers as they were only a few more $$s than the frp ones. I also went alloy lower front arms as the ball studs kept pulling out of the plastic ones.
I love the TT02b - so many upgrades Plus the neo scorcher is great looking I have mine running on 3s LiPo and brushless combo It’s super fast I got mine because I needed parts too for my TT02b MS haha
Glenn the shock towers as you say are a must have. The rear suspension especially does not work properly without it. The steering upgrade does make a difference. It rotates on ball races instead of step screws.
This project sounds really interesting, and you've picked some good upgrades, at least to start with ;) I can't wait to see how well it goes, really looking forward to part 2 :)
Awesome Glenn, looking forwards to this little project. Tamiya make a stiffer glass fiber reinforced chassis for these as well, the white special TT-02 kit came with a white one (obviously) and I believe it comes supplied with a couple of the other on road TT-02 Chassis. TT-02SR definitely, looking at mine right now! It does weigh a few grams more than the plain ABS but it's another tuning aid if needed. You are smashing it out of the park lately mate, loving the vids!
This is a really nice approach and thanks for doing this. I think it's a great project especially to see what kind of capability a properly set up TT02B can do-on a track with other modern race spec buggies. Your thoughts on getting a modern race buggy as a test car (and probably for track practice and benchmarking) is a great one. Good luck and looking forward to the future update video!
Maybe you can take your Stratos Dragon racing too :P It's really beautiful though and personally I'd be terrified of messing up the paintjob but I'd love to see how a Hornet type car would handle a track (or how well it wouldn't handle a track I guess).
Nice one buddy ..I have had one ready since lockdown .but not had chance to build .plus the aluminium parts was always out of stock so put it away until parts became available again .. So will watch and see yours and pick the bits I fancy too ... But I have the Ltd plasma edge multi colour one ....😃
Love the Neo Scorcher body. I just started a Plasma Edge ll and doing most of the similar upgrades. Running a Trackstar 21.5t brushless with 68/22 gears and 2s Lipo.
Oh yeah i like the sound of this a modern race buggy vs a cheaper Tamiya buggy, will be interesting to see what you can achieve with an upgraded Tamiya on the track against proper race kits, maybe you could also race it against your Top Force or Terra Scorcher too.
@@zosozoso2 ? please enlighten me on this, I thought a modern racing buggy would be at least £250+ but the Tamiya Neo scorcher is around the £120 mark.
@@ptaylor5014 Yes, a standard TT02B is around that prize, but take all the upgrades, and its quite up there. Buggies like Egress, Avante, Top Force, and other from Tamiya are way beyond 250 mark :-)
@@zosozoso2 Ah i see what you meant, so Glenn is going to have to either spend big on it or more likely be gifted some of the parts from the usual suspects lol
@@TAMIYALegends There is some flex I guess I very much doubt I would ever notice any performance gains but it's cheap and its carbon.... A chap called the RC racer developed it who by all accounts genuinely seems to know his stuff (and actually races rather than punting stuff off ramps in the garden!) so I am happy to accept his opinion that it's better.
EXCELLENT project - really looking forward to seeing you drive on track as much as the cars you'll use. Super good luck! It'd be great to see this run on track before you add any further upgrades so we have a "true" baseline to work up from e.g. prove if the FRP shock towers, turnbuckles, etc. really make a performance difference (or a strength, running cost benefit). Personally I'd love to see you use this shell and wing and do a Terra Scorcher livery. I'm sure it'll make it at least 5 seconds quicker per lap ;-)
A 13.5 turn brushless setup on 3s makes these things pretty fast. Plus thae same motor could do double duty if you do decide to race as well if the track has a 13.5 class for 4wd buggy.
Sounds like a great plan Glenn. Looks like a nice build to work from. I didn’t realise that the carbon shock towers come with adjustable turnbuckles so that is one thing off my shopping list. Be interested to see what benefit you make of the steering links with the bearings as I was winding if that would make any difference. I have also been researching tyres for the dirt track in my back yard but I have some time to consider as upgrades are not planned until next winter. I will be following your progress on this one closely my friend! All the best 👍🏻🙌🏻
Exciting stuff!! I’m really pleased you have decided to do this project as I have recently purchased a TT-02B plasma edge 2 gun metal edition. I’m planning on building it completely standard at first as it’s my first rc car since I and a midnight pumpkin back in the 80’s as a kid. I’m new to the channel and rc world and would love to know what upgrades I can make that will really make a difference 👍🏼
Having upgraded and raced my TT02B against modern buggies, I am excited to see what you do with this project. The end results are not as important as the experience you will obtain through the journey. Enjoy the journey on this project. I certainly enjoyed mine. 👍
What an exciting project Glenn! A great idea, really cool to see the racing side of things. Ideally ask the track before you rock up what are the go to tires/compound, also if they have a photo of the track or video you can think about racing lines even before you get there. I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun! 🤘
Great project! It's a shame there does not seem to be a TT02B or DT02 race series in the UK. Especially for Juniors it would be a great way into the hobby. What King of Clubs is doing with Tamiya Junior E is brilliant I think. Need something similar for buggies!
That's a cool project, I'll definitely be following along, see what I can learn along the way! It's gonna be very exciting to see it on a track, see how good you can make it! Last year I was playing around with my DualRidge, I think I made 2-3 videos about it, but it was more of a speedrun thing... I did replace the steering components to all aluminium and turnbuckles, and it did help a lot, so I think you chose right by getting those parts, it's not just bling.
Great timing with this video Glenn. I am semi retiring my df03 avante mk2 and have bought a plasma edge 2. Just started doing small upgrades and will be watching to see what parts you think gives the best bang for buck, and what parts dont work.
I'm excited about this project as I have a Plasma Edge 2 that should arrive tomorrow and I want to do the same thing. I am also intrigued about your idea of taking and comparing some of the older Tamiya cars on an actual race track.
The indoor tracks there, are they carpet, clay, or turf? We have a new carpet track about an hour and a half from me (I live rural so everywhere is an hour or more). Seems 2wd is almost as fast in carpet, so if you haven't already gotten the race kit, maybe check out some of the stuff at the track, maybe 2wd would be a cheaper start? I have not been to the new track yet, it just opened last Tuesday...amd have never raced on carpet, but have looked up a bunch in the last month or so... have a look at it online if you have FB, HRCR, Hayden RC Raceway... Been watching Tamiya videos and retro RC videos...looking to pick up a couple/few retro style rigs for the collection, hopefully a Tamiya or 2, and at least one Kyosho like an Ultima ? Hard to decide to buy a Tamiya ReRe when they haven't put them out with steering fixes, slippers and gears to handle mild brushless, oil shocks and bearings still not in some... maybe I just am spoiled by modern kits and what I hope for would be like a Tamiya (Iconic Name Here) Mk2 Deluxe or something ... Any Tamiyas that you can recommend for someone spoiled by modern kits? There's so many Tamiya rigs that are recognizable, why they don't put out a more modern buggy with Grasshopper or other livery, a monster truck chassis with a Lunchbox/Pumpkin/Beetle, or...??? It's just beyond me and I can't understand, those would probably sell a LOT to people who remember the old kits, but want something to get their kids or even grand kids o start their journey into RC.... Cheers.
I have been thinking the same thing Glenn in regards to making a run of the mill Tamiya buggy, upgrade it to see how it performs against modern buggies, can't wait to see these future videos.
As popular of a buggy as these are I think it will be a great series. I just got a Plasma Edge II from my wife for Christmas and was going to basically do what you outlined in as your first stage. Curious to see the results. Maybe I'll take it farther as continue to upgrade yours.
Excellent Glen.. my TTO2B is nearly finished and to be fair it’s similar to what happening with that one!!!. So just to ask did you find that drive shaft moves up and down in the cups???
Hi Glenn good luck with the project, I did race a tt02bms for a while and got some reasonable results against better buggy’s with it. I did add the full c-shaped servo mount to mine as it helps the servo from flexing about. I did put uj’s all round and run aeration dampers as well. Tyres will be critical on carpet when you race it I used Schumacher cactus on the rear and cactus fusion on the front. Maybe there using proline pin points or prisms as a preferred choice in Canada ? Anyway good to see how it progresses , good luck :)
Glenn i think that the steering upgrade is a good idea and not bling the tt02b is like the df02 and I found that there was a huge amount of slop in the steering
Hello Glenn live the tt02b great car are you going to put the high speed gear set in ? I went for the alloy shock towers and hubs and steering set and universal drive shafts from yeah racing still waiting for my metal diff cups😪. great video Glenn 👊👊👊
Where did you order the universal drive shafts from? I want to get some for my TT02 and TT02b but the price always makes me think twice. Where they cheaper from the place in China?
I don't think I've ever said how great I find your Tamiya Legends video ident, in all its 1980s 'VHS tape playing in a model shop' glory.
Thank you 😊😊😊
People are sure generous, how awesome is that!
Yeah couldn’t agree more my friend 🤩👊🏻
Perfect timing, just built my first tt02b and want to increase the performance in the near future

Liking the blue wheels and liking the plans you have for racing looking forward to seeing the footage also the build Glenn 😎👌💪👊🔥🔥🔥

Super pumped for the project and the track videos. It‘s simply more exiting than watching a car running from left to right on a parking lot ;).
Yeah totally agree my friend 😊👊🏻
Looking forward to seeing this build Glenn, i built a Plasma edge 2 Iridescent Kit over Christmas and added a few Hop Ups. Great Video BTW

This is my first RC kit just ordered it looking forward to it. I want a block head hotshot 2 for my birthday but wanted something cheaper to start on
G'day Glenn that is a great idea mate 👍😃👍
Thank you 😊
This will be a fun series! Looking forward to this project 🤩
Thanks Duncan 😊👊🏻
Spot on mate. Looking to go racing myself this year with a TA 2wd buggy.

Sadly I don't have the money for that or any race tracks nearby (I think the closest one is like 3 days away lol) so I'll be living my dream through you :D
Yeah not having a local track absolutely sucks 🤮
I've started a similar project with my neo scorcher, alloy shaft, cups, steering so far but I went with the carbon fibre shock towers as they were only a few more $$s than the frp ones. I also went alloy lower front arms as the ball studs kept pulling out of the plastic ones.
Excellent Jason there seems to be a few of us doing this 🤩🤩🤩
I love the TT02b - so many upgrades
Plus the neo scorcher is great looking
I have mine running on 3s LiPo and brushless combo
It’s super fast
I got mine because I needed parts too for my TT02b MS haha
Glenn the shock towers as you say are a must have. The rear suspension especially does not work properly without it. The steering upgrade does make a difference. It rotates on ball races instead of step screws.
Excellent thanks Lee 🤩👊🏻
Very interested in seeing how this goes!!
Thanks Jason 😊👊🏻
Sounds like great plans Glenn.. look forward to see some track action and how this one develops.. :)
Thanks Pete 😊👊🏻
Jim from Cambridge, ON, here - just got a Plasma Edge II of my own, so I am curious to see what changes you make.
Thanks for the great comment Lee 😊👊🏻
This is a really nice approach and thanks for doing this. I think it's a great project especially to see what kind of capability a properly set up TT02B can do-on a track with other modern race spec buggies. Your thoughts on getting a modern race buggy as a test car (and probably for track practice and benchmarking) is a great one. Good luck and looking forward to the future update video!
Maybe you can take your Stratos Dragon racing too :P
It's really beautiful though and personally I'd be terrified of messing up the paintjob but I'd love to see how a Hornet type car would handle a track (or how well it wouldn't handle a track I guess).
Thanks buddy 😊😊😊
Nice one buddy ..I have had one ready since lockdown .but not had chance to build .plus the aluminium parts was always out of stock so put it away until parts became available again ..
So will watch and see yours and pick the bits I fancy too ...
But I have the Ltd plasma edge multi colour one ....😃
Excellent thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Love this video! Thanks! Your accents sounds a Hull? I'm from Grimsby and only just started dabbling in RC and awaiting my first Tamiya!
Cool idea Glenn, will be interesting to see the results, did a similar thing with a Bear Hawk a few years back.
Excellent thanks for watching 😊👊🏻
Love the Neo Scorcher body. I just started a Plasma Edge ll and doing most of the similar upgrades. Running a Trackstar 21.5t brushless with 68/22 gears and 2s Lipo.
Fantastic thanks for sharing this my friend 😊👊🏻
I just ordered one my self
Excellent enjoy the build my friend 🤩👊🏻
Very cool concept.
Thanks Steve 😊👊🏻
Looking forward to track videos!
Oh yeah i like the sound of this a modern race buggy vs a cheaper Tamiya buggy, will be interesting to see what you can achieve with an upgraded Tamiya on the track against proper race kits, maybe you could also race it against your Top Force or Terra Scorcher too.
Yeah definitely if I can find a decent indoor track that’s local ish to me, then over time I’ll get a few different buggy’s down there 😊👊🏻
Well, actually it is "modern racy buggy vs a more expensive Tamiya buggy" :-)
I would also suggest the fibre-lyte carbon top deck. Its carbon which obviously immediately improves performance.
Haha interesting, so you’re saying the standard chassis has flex?
Haha yeah unfortunately I haven’t found a track yet, so the car will be modified before it’s first track run 🤕🤕🤕
Do you think the Durga body would fit?
love it, the subtitles always say welcome to TOMMY legends or TUMMY legends 😂😂
Haha 🤣🤣😊
A 13.5 turn brushless setup on 3s makes these things pretty fast. Plus thae same motor could do double duty if you do decide to race as well if the track has a 13.5 class for 4wd buggy.
Excellent thanks Brian 😎👊🏻
Sounds like a great plan Glenn. Looks like a nice build to work from. I didn’t realise that the carbon shock towers come with adjustable turnbuckles so that is one thing off my shopping list. Be interested to see what benefit you make of the steering links with the bearings as I was winding if that would make any difference. I have also been researching tyres for the dirt track in my back yard but I have some time to consider as upgrades are not planned until next winter. I will be following your progress on this one closely my friend! All the best 👍🏻🙌🏻
Excellent thanks my friend 🤩👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends That's a clearly defined budget forecast. Good for you having discipline OAG. :-)
@@markscotchford4159 truth is I have too many projects planned for the summer! 😂
Iv just started building one 😎
I like that body😥 it better have your logo on it! So excited 🤪
Haha me too lol 😂
Exciting stuff!! I’m really pleased you have decided to do this project as I have recently purchased a TT-02B plasma edge 2 gun metal edition. I’m planning on building it completely standard at first as it’s my first rc car since I and a midnight pumpkin back in the 80’s as a kid. I’m new to the channel and rc world and would love to know what upgrades I can make that will really make a difference 👍🏼
Fantastic thanks for watching and leaving a comment Richard 🤩👊🏻
Sounds like a great project..... will be interesting to see how the various upgrade affect it. 😀
Thanks for watching and commenting my friend 😊👊🏻
Having upgraded and raced my TT02B against modern buggies, I am excited to see what you do with this project. The end results are not as important as the experience you will obtain through the journey. Enjoy the journey on this project. I certainly enjoyed mine. 👍
Excellent thanks for sharing my friend 😊😊😊
What an exciting project Glenn! A great idea, really cool to see the racing side of things. Ideally ask the track before you rock up what are the go to tires/compound, also if they have a photo of the track or video you can think about racing lines even before you get there.
I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun! 🤘
Wow you make some fantastic points my friend 😊👊🏻
Dribble, love it
Thank you 😊
Great project! It's a shame there does not seem to be a TT02B or DT02 race series in the UK. Especially for Juniors it would be a great way into the hobby. What King of Clubs is doing with Tamiya Junior E is brilliant I think. Need something similar for buggies!
Yeah totally agree with you my friend 😊👊🏻
I just got one…do you recommend associated wheels?
That's a cool project, I'll definitely be following along, see what I can learn along the way! It's gonna be very exciting to see it on a track, see how good you can make it! Last year I was playing around with my DualRidge, I think I made 2-3 videos about it, but it was more of a speedrun thing... I did replace the steering components to all aluminium and turnbuckles, and it did help a lot, so I think you chose right by getting those parts, it's not just bling.
Excellent thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Great timing with this video Glenn. I am semi retiring my df03 avante mk2 and have bought a plasma edge 2. Just started doing small upgrades and will be watching to see what parts you think gives the best bang for buck, and what parts dont work.
Excellent thanks for watching Pete 😊👊🏻
I'm excited about this project as I have a Plasma Edge 2 that should arrive tomorrow and I want to do the same thing. I am also intrigued about your idea of taking and comparing some of the older Tamiya cars on an actual race track.
Thanks Simon 😊😊😊
Thanks Paul 😊👊🏻
Looking forward to this, but not sure that the chassis can handle brushless 🤔. Will be fun finding out though 😁👍.
Oh it will lol 🤣👊🏻
As popular of a buggy as these are I think it will be a great series. I just got a Plasma Edge II from my wife for Christmas and was going to basically do what you outlined in as your first stage. Curious to see the results. Maybe I'll take it farther as continue to upgrade yours.
Excellent thanks for watching Ryan 😊👊🏻
Excellent Glen.. my TTO2B is nearly finished and to be fair it’s similar to what happening with that one!!!. So just to ask did you find that drive shaft moves up and down in the cups???
Yeah there’s certainly some play there my friend 🤕
Hi Glenn good luck with the project, I did race a tt02bms for a while and got some reasonable results against better buggy’s with it. I did add the full c-shaped servo mount to mine as it helps the servo from flexing about. I did put uj’s all round and run aeration dampers as well. Tyres will be critical on carpet when you race it I used Schumacher cactus on the rear and cactus fusion on the front. Maybe there using proline pin points or prisms as a preferred choice in Canada ? Anyway good to see how it progresses , good luck :)
Excellent thanks Andy, that’s fantastic information my friend, thanks for sharing this with us 🤩👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends my pleasure if you get stuck give us a shout, I’d have to look but I think I did a few other things as well to it
You might want to consider upgrading the steering rack too
Yeah it’ll get done before it hits the track my friend 😅👊🏻
Glenn i think that the steering upgrade is a good idea and not bling the tt02b is like the df02 and I found that there was a huge amount of slop in the steering
Excellent thanks Chris 😊👊🏻
Hello Glenn live the tt02b great car are you going to put the high speed gear set in ? I went for the alloy shock towers and hubs and steering set and universal drive shafts from yeah racing still waiting for my metal diff cups😪. great video Glenn 👊👊👊
Yeah that’s actually just arrived so I’m fitting it tomorrow 😅
Tamiya did an MS version of this kit with the Dual Ridge body .
Yeah it was probably the poorest attempt at a MS car Tamiya have done 🤕
Where did you order the universal drive shafts from? I want to get some for my TT02 and TT02b but the price always makes me think twice. Where they cheaper from the place in China?
Yeah they were from China, not ran the car yet so no idea if there any good 😅
@@TAMIYALegends Thanks. I will continue watching and if they seem good I will ask again🙂
Yokomo YZ-4 for the modern buggy 😃
Hi Glenn , how about a speed run just to see the difference between the 21 and the 8 turn 🤔🤔🤔
Yeah definitely I’ll be playing with the gps meter again in the spring 😊👊🏻
Hey I have a Tamiya tble02 ESC can I use a Tamiya sport tuned motor with that???
Hey 👋🏻
Yes you can James 😅👊🏻
Hope there is something I can add to my plasma edge
There’s always something we can add Paul 🤣👊🏻
