Some great hop ups for this, have probably spent more on hop ups than the original car 🤫 great video as always Glenn, and just shows you can have fun straight out of the box
Just got 1 of these perfect whilst reversing and going forward is instant but when going forward and press reverse it takes a while too stop, how do I fix this please
Nice Buggy. Those tyres actually wear very well, even on tarmac. I had the neo Scorcher on the TT02B chassis, ran a lot nicer with afew upgrades. Larger pinion, Speed gear set & bearings.
Just got one of these. With a Tamiya 17.5t Brushless motor on 2s and using a 19t pinion I got a top end of 17 mph. Having dynoed the motor the 17.5 turn only put out 18000 or so rpm which is lower than the torque tuned. Going to try a 15.5 soon.
Great video as always. I'm liking this TT02B. I bought a DF-02 a few weeks back with the same bodyshell so this video has bumped it up towards the top of the restoration ladder. I'm a big fan of the TT01 chassis and I've been thinking of adding a TT02 to the collection. After watching this I think a TT02-B is now a must-have..!! Keep up the great work Glen... 👍
I agree, that looks really cool and a well balanced buggy. With a few hop ups, i.e bearings and quicker motor I think it could put in some quick lap times at the track. I too would like to see some GPS speed times before and after bearings. I think bearings would improve the speed and throttle response quite a lot.
Looks nice I actually like it , the BZ motor , bearings and the high speed gear set would make a big difference. The thing I don’t like about the tt-02 is how much debris gets into the chassis when your driving it . Great video Glenn . Time to get serious and do some upgrades 👍
I run a Neo Scorcher with a 13.5T Brushless on the standard ESC with a cheap 2S Lipo, it is so much fun!!! Just fit the bearings & alu propshaft, end cups & high speed gear set with alu motor mount and its cracking... :-)
now i wanna get my butt into gear and start building , that was fun to watch building the neo fighter metallic green first then ill build this as i have been slack lately , taking weeks to finish off this frog want it to be pristine , tyre writing the lot, painted driver no visible cables decals on can silver motor want it to be great for the shelf off course but blackfoot on the way , cr01 Rock Socker ,425 Unimog and Porsche 911 GT1 street also are awaiting building/assembling ,just finished the Hotshot re re and have bought a couple of ready to runs to be honest and also an Axial UMG10 also needs to be assembled and thats a big build kit lots of parts and polly carb to cut , paint and decal so gotta pull my finger out and get cracking on building , also got hold of a kyosho 1/8 Nitro Neo 3.0 Inferno ive been wanting to take out the box and run the motor inn , need to have a bit of fun in between builds but hard to find time tbo, cheers Glen love the Plasma Edge II , its a real looker too and the FaceBook Page Tamiya Legends has so many nice people on there too btw great page love it , cheers again bud :-)
Great car Glenn. Love to get my hands on one. Unfortunately in Melbourne at the moment nobody is getting any stock and I don’t want to pay $100 or more to get it shipped from overseas. Keep up the great videos.
On brushed, these tires are stronger than you can imagine. It wasn't till I put a brushless 3s system in it that it started to show signs of wear. Especially on wet surfaces where the wheels spin..
Adjustable turnbuckles, ball bearings, perhaps undertray, bit stiffer shocks. The tt02b tends too flip forward in jumps so watch out for that. I'd wait with the aluminium propshaft until you upgrade the power on this it should hold up for a brushed motor still, specially with low grip. If you can measure the motor temperatures at the next video feel free to do so too see if you can go up in pinion gear size on the tt02b without it affecting the stock motor temperatures very much.
Hi Glenn! I looked this vid. You need to upgrazthe tt-02... It's awesome at the end. I updated the speed gear and some Carbon fun. And it needs a alloy shaft. I runn it on a 17t modelcraft cheep motor but fast like hell. Also i locked the front diff.
Nice little RC, I might buy it, haven't had one in over 25+ years. I don't like the one's that are too loud and big. It's $200 Canadian vs the other ones that are 500 too 1000... It's worth it.
Would of been cool to of done a speed run as stock without bearings to see if the bearings made any difference in terms of speed. Great little buggy for the cost. Great video thanks buddy 👍🏻
Nice buggy and watching it in action kind of reminds me back in the day i used to run standard Terra Scorchers and Fire dragon buggies, then i upgraded them to silly speeds lol.
Great video as always Glen. Been waiting for this one to see how mine compared. Looks like we came to the same conclusion. Needs a bit more grunt and turning circle is a bit wide. Already put a speed precision 10.5t and Hobbywing 10BL60 sensored brushless setup in mine and it rips pretty good now. Got a motor mount to fit and then I'm going to look at strengthening the internals I think. Be interesting to see what upgrade path you take.
We have a club that races these Also a group page With the hop ups and big upgrades these tt02b are awesome but end up expensive in the end but well worth it
Would love to see the difference just gearing would make. My Super Astute with Superstock BZ seems slow, but motor gets hot. If you ran torque tuned plus high speed gear set I bet the tt02b would be close to perfect?
I am new to rc cars and I just finished this same buggy and wanted to put on road tires on it like you did. May be a dumb question but how do I determine what size to use? I know the front and rear are 2 different sizes but having a hard time finding online those sizes in on road tires. Also, how do I determine what size foam inserts for both on and off road tires? Like i said, a newbie. Lol
Great video.. I've just ordered a Plasma Edge 2 for my first model getting back into the hobby after 20 years away. Can you run 2s lipo with the stock motor and esc? If so which do you recommend to fit in the plasma edge. Also I fancy running disc wheels like the ones you used in this video which would you recommend. Many thanks Glen.. 👍🏻
Hey Glenn , just picked this car up from a shop in the states for $129. Looking forward to building g this but think I'm going to get the yeah racing performance conversion kit. Cost more than the car but looks sweet. Have you done it?

Good little buggy. Looking forward to get this little sprinter. With brushless motor and some experiments. But shakiness of the video makes me dizzy. Get a gimbal or a cameraperson :-)

This is a fantastic video. Gives beginners a look at how a stock platform actually goes. Nice one man.

Hi 👋
Really enjoyed watching the 3 episodes on this build.. great channel
I'd love to see a GPS speed meter run before and after bearings with no other changes.
On it’s way my friend 🤩👊🏻
I honestly don’t think there will be any difference with modern electrics .
The brass bushings in my astute wheels were amazingly smooth.
