If this is the kind of breakdown y’all are doing for every detachment of every codex, I’m in 100%.
it is indeed! we will have one out for each detachment so crusher is out Tomorrow :)
I love that this detachment feels like the "ultimate battlefield general" detachment.
I also think the amount of parallels to the gladius is neat. Almost like the hive mind is taunting the space marines with their own tools
With the various points changes, I have been finding room for Screamers in my Nexus, accompanying either my Maleceptors or a Dirgeheart Tyrant.
Their melee is solid, and are a good way of forcing extra Battle Shock tests and maximising Smothering Shadow.
The Tyrant is an all-star in this list, popping Irresistible Will in my turns and Reinforced Hive Node in their turns, whilst helping everything rush forward with Onslaught.
Now this is the Detachment I wanted to play with.
I feel like Neurotyrant is a must have in this list. Especially with the suped up Torrent.
he definitely is benefitting from a lot in this detachment especially with the enhancements
Love the flexibility of the Codex! Not supper happy about the points change day one but o well. Synaptic Nexus and Unrelenting swarm are the two Detachment I will be focusing on. I will still be getting reps with Invasion Fleet its so flexible.
Random person: "- How many sponsored content can fit into a video?"
Vanguard Tactics: "- Yes."
I haven’t played tyranids since the late 90s damn I got a lot to learn again my tyranids have grown so much ,,,,so proud of
Tervigon is synapse still so with 20 guants, 5++ is pretty strong
I was also thinking, mawloc yea they aren’t bad, mortals when they deep strike and could cause battle shock test so that’s 3 phases to use the Strat that also causes mortals
I want to love this detachment, but I am not too psyched.
I'm not sure the Norns and the Maleceptors are so perfect for it as you say. They don't really use the army rule. They already have a 4++ (no use for 5++), the Norn already hits on 2+ so does not use the +1 in melee and you want the Maleceptor to primarily be shooting. And +1 to charge is a bit whatever.
With this approach of going for the big Synapse bugs all the detachment really has going for it is reroll 1s to hit and wound and the -1 AP.
Despite first glance, think these guys do tactical great! Biovore and a couple of grags go a long way together with ur lone ops!
I like the Vanguard invader detachment but this is a close second
Wait wait wait. How the heck is he not, **”THE HIVE MIKE”**?!?!
Damn this is horrifying just thinking about how my opponent will feel about going against this. Definitely making a list to try out all the Tyranid detachment’s.
Just to confirm, I can use reinforced hide node on a model that is being attacked, and if my hive tyrant is in range i can use it again on the same unit for 0 CP, giving the model -2 to AP to anything attacking that model until end of phase?
No Zoans for Synapse Det. ? Still a important Unit in Terms auf S12 shooting. At least 1 x 6 or 2 x 3 should be considered i think. Well done Video, looking forward to the other ones.
The list you guys came up with sounds amazing although doesn’t the venomthropes stealth ability exclude monsters so you won’t be able to give it to much of the army you listed?
They will give cover to everything, including monsters
@@HereticDave40k oh I misread it’s the Stealth monsters don’t get - thanks
The detatchment says you "can" select a synaptic imperative to take place this battleround. Does that mean you can choose to not pick one?
Starting to build up Nid army and this sounds pretty nasty!
Has there been an FAQ about 3 warriors having 1 venom and 1 barb? With how the units always been it seems unintended/typo
No Faq and it was that way for all of 9th edition so i doubt its a typo
oh didnt realize thats how it was in 9e@@TheJasonDragonsbane
@@johaadganor1684 im 99% sure it was that way in 9th. I could be wrong as i havent looked at that codex in months now but either way i doubt its a typo
Yea i looked at the 9e wiki and you are right. I last played in 8th, and I assumed it was like a lot of those options where its 1 wep per 3. But i guess thats not the case anymore. Seems odd though for 2/3 of the unit to have the 'buffed' weps
@@TheJasonDragonsbane
@@johaadganor1684if only the guns were actually good... their shooting output is legitimately terrible
Question: using Irresistible Will, does that also work for the synapse model chosen or does it have to be another friendly. are synapse models in synapse of themselves? Make sense?
Yes
@@HereticDave40k noice!
Do you ever think Miele Warriors will make a comeback or is range still the way to go with all of it
I really want Melee warriors to get a buff this upcoming Update in January. It's a shame that the Ranged variant is better in every way
@@Chester2194 though I still think the melee version is better slightly cheaper and is twin linked. Since the range versus only hit on fours, that's pretty bad
Melee warriors are 15 points more than ranged. And in terms of melee power you're giving up an entire round of shooting for one more attack, one ap, and twin linked. I'll take 4 deathspitters and 2 venom cannons over that slight upgrade in melee prowess. Ranged warriors hit hard enough in melee imo, And can fall back, shoot and charge.
Also a prime leading them gives sustained hits which makes those 4+ shots not so terrible.
I 100% think melee warriors deserve to hit on 2's and probably get a buff to their strength or dmg. I love how they look but can't defend how bad that 4+ save is on a pure melee unit.
When you mention the hive tyrant being a stand out unit for this detachment would you suggest the flyrant or walking tyrant? Also what loadout for him?
walking tyrant for sure, it just offers much more in this list with providing assault to everyone within 6" which in turn helps with mission play, If i was to give him anything it would be a ranged weapon so maybe look at the heavy venom cannon as its still a couple of damage 3 shots or if your list is lacking large amounts of shots (damage 3 isn't something tyrannies struggle to throw out) then look at the strangle thorn cannon :)
There great but the points increase is heart breaking.
Walkrant. It would give his malceptor weapon assault.
I just painted 20 termagaunts haha. Any chance of including this in a synapse army or would it lower the competitiveness of it?
Absolutely not!! Terms gaunts still have a place, especially giving them the invul it can be really annoying lol 😂 that's the great thing with this detachment is it's not biased towards one type of unit, you just need to make sure your synapse is plenty
That could work real well when paired with tervigon. Like round 1 or 2 when they'll get shot a lot would like the 5+ invul from the detachment.
Doesn't the swarmlord have a psycic shooting weapon as well?
he does indeed, a pretty decent torrent weapon
Unless I'm mistaken, this list is 2,015 points before even taking an enhancement on the hive tyrant, whats up with that
The swarm lord has a psychic weapon 👍
He's an epic hero, so no enhancements.
venomthrope cover ability does not apply to the norn as they are monsters.
Sorry, I'm new--doesn't the Swarmlord also have a psychic weapon as a Psyker for the first enhancement?
Epic Heroes (named characters) can't take enhancements
Would you say this list is as solid as the swarm one?
100%!! It is a very different play style but this is a very strong list and as we mentioned this detachment is probably the strongest one in the codex! But it depends on the player and their playstyle too, like Mike would play the swarm one better as he has the most experience with that style and he prefers it but this list is very strong still! (Jord)
@VanguardTactics Keep up the great work guys! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the Harverster Detachment!
@@try2dream thanks dude! Should be out for next Tuesday, crusher stampede is this Thursday ✌🏼
Can someone give me a writeup of the list? The enchancements? I got lost in the rambling lol
8:30
I think this strategem is the reason Tyrannofex's got nerfed.
Comment for the algorithm…er, um, the HIVE MIND!!
Hey guys love the vid, but battleshock can’t be worse than 8+
Warriors can only have 2 venom canons and 1 barbed strangler. The barbed is max 1 per unit 17:30
You should put up the pages as a visual reference, otherwise hard to stay focused for non-english listeners.
You use a lot of adjectives, but is it backed up by rules? The Emissary took a big hit from the stealth nerf, the change to Devastating Wounds. Now she can only block Mortal Wounds, which suddenly are extremely rare in 40K. It's inexplicable that it also got a point hike, BEFORE we've had a change to test its rules and affect the meta in any way, irks me to no end.
Please don't clump it in with her lesser sister, the 'Lackinvo' Norn. You'll not see that in a competitive list.
Also, 'expect to see 6 Norns, a Hive Tyrant and a BUNCH of other stuff as well', huh? Clocking in at 1975pts you would only have room for a single Ripper model and it would likely be a mediocre tournament army, struggling to score secondary objectives. I could be wrong though, some tournaments have more emphasis on just winning, than winning with a huge margain.
You didn't have a Tyrant on foot to film? I assume you're not suggesting we take a Flyrant (outside maybe Vanguard detachment).
Again, please include pics or documents on things like army lists.
Pls never play more then one norn! (If u want to win Games) They are not worth theyr points. For roughly the same cost u can field a maleceptor AND exocrine, both will do more for ur whole army
Buddy said hive tyrant was good lol😅
The battle tactic stratagems that it can use with this Detachment and the units you can give assault to make it worthwhile.
The hive tyrant on foot in particular is fantastic for just giving out assault and allowing the army to do actions whilst advancing forward! And it's still a tough enough monster plus as been said it can still give out free battle tactic strats, it deffo has a lot of play competitively
Gives out free Battle Tactic in BOTH players turn. Crazy good!
