Me: has a 3.8 gallon tank with colored gravel and a broken filter Chris: No Me: Setting up my 10 gallon tank with a new filter and new heater and live plants with planting substrate and black/brown gravel❤️
Wahoo!! I LOVE my fluval 107 filter. I use it in my snail tank and to slow the flow, I strap some filter floss around the output nozzle with an elastic band.
I absolutely LOVE the rescape! I was looking at it in the background last video wondering when the update would be and I’m happy it came today :D it looks beautiful, not like anything I’ve seen before, and I love the openness of it. It feels so calming and natural, and the simplicity is wonderful
OMG!! I just installed a 107 and was annoyed by the intense flow. I didn’t realise you could use that lever to adjust the flow. My floating plants are in your debt!!
just get s smart plug :) no noice like those stupid mechanical timers and you can set it up easily on the phone, with a planted tank / tanks it is best also if you go away for a few days :)
If you cycle your tank for a while before you add the fish in, the bacteria will have time to get established. You can also buy capsules of some at the pet store to put in the tank which will help the colony establish sooner and cut down on cycling time. You don't really need to add more at any point since they won't leave as long as you never take all of the water out of the tank. However! Please note that you should not throw away your filter cartridge after the tank has been cycled, as long as it is not torn or falling apart. It may look dirty, but is actually home to all those beneficial bacteria, and if you completely replace it you can sterilize your tank and crash the nitrogen cycle. Wash off the worst of the dirt in dechlorinated water when you think you need to clean it, and then put the same filter cartridge back. (This is just for if you don't have a sponge filter) As for the heater, it depends on where you live and how hot it gets in the summer. If your in-house temperature is between 78-80 degrees, you can probably turn the heater off. However, if you run air conditioning or it is cooler than that, I would suggest keeping it on!
I use fluval hang on filters and love them. Also, I have a planted tank with gravel I have never fertilized my water, plants and don't use grow lights look at my plants with a regular l.e.d. hood light.
Hi Chris your videos are the best i mean THE BEST i used to know nothing about fish but now im an expert lol planning in the future when im older to get an fish room with happy fish inside thanks Chris for teaching me about fish care 💘💘
Hi.. do these clarifiers help with algae on glass also ? i.e if you I can clean if off the glass as much as possible will it be less likely to return ? Thanks.
Hi, how long do you leave the UVC clarifier running out of interest? I have very recently installed one and love it, but still experimenting on the optimum amount of time I need to set it to.
I've always wanted a better filter for my tanks but hob filters get annoying to deal with. There's noise, too much flow, still oils on top of the surface which is the worst imo! This filter looks actually really good. I'm going to look into it. I would love clearer water without oil slick on top. This is why I use sponge filters but they splash too much. Thanks for another great vid Chris!
Yo Chris I realy need your help. I currently am really starting to not like my 5.5gal's tank aquascapeing. This is my first tank so I tried to go for simple, but it's now just... too simple. I already have the water and stuff in there and it's almost cycled and I feel like if I were to meddle with the scaping, like adding and taking away, it might mess my cycling up. Any tips for rescaping something? Also, any tips for algae? I had an outbreak;-; I would really appreciate it if you would reply😊
To give the cat something to focus on other than eating fabric, to entertain it. But he's used the fake robot fish in the past, so i don't know why he used real fish this time!
@@smilygriffin1144 That does make sense, but is also kind of concerning. There are plenty of things to help keep destructive cats occupied, like toys and robots that mimic real animals (like you mentioned). You don't need to give a poor betta fish an even shorter life expectancy in a little bowl surrounded by a big scary predator xd
OI i’m getting a pair of goldfish soon and i wanted to know if there are live plants that are safe for them cuz goldfish eat e v e r y t h i n g. if not i’m just gonna use some fake high quality silk plants. TY!!
That's what mudskippers basically do already lmao. They can barely swim cause their fins are kinda shaped like legs and they just jump across the sand.
Finally Chris got a sponsor. 😂
Am boi got a sponsor!
We should pray for him. So Chirs can put more food on the table for Repapshy. 🤭
You know it’s gonna be a great day when Chris uploads before school starts 🤗

I’m on spring break feels bad
Fish ASMR + Chris (yes Chris is a whole new genre)

I have 2 406 and a 407 in my living room, and so quiet and my uvc is priceless!
I needed this update badly, my current filter is the opposite of quiet and won't stop trying to tell me about it's day.
It's beautiful, and so is your camera work!
I really like the new scape, it definitely fits what you said in a previous video about wanting it more natural.
OMG!! I just installed a 107 and was annoyed by the intense flow. I didn’t realise you could use that lever to adjust the flow. My floating plants are in your debt!!
Look how far he's come, it puts a mile on my face to see him com from 10k to 154k subs :) Keep up the good work chris
Looks beautiful! The filtration is amazing!
SHEEEEEEEEESH!🥶🥶
that’s it... I’m so sorry
I really like your new toys.
Chris: This Fluval Canister filter destroys all algae problems
Algae: we may look bad, but at least we are helping
God I’m so tired of reading RUclips comments like this. Please stop. You aren’t creative what so ever.
@@MattyP650 I’m sorry that you have to drag people down to feel good😁. Have a great day😋

I think your new scape is gonna look so cool! Can't wait to see the final look
I got a Fluval 407 a month ago. Best choice I ever made
thanks for the short and concise video
How often do I add beneficial bacteria to the betta fish tank? And do I have to keep the heater on in the summer?

Man the greenery in that tank really acts as a coolant for the eyes. Could watch that all day.😍😍😍 Luv it!!!
Great editing, dude🌴💜
I’ve been on the search for a canister filter for a new tank 👏
We have to have a underwater tour of one of your tanks with a underwater camera like a GoPro!

Hey Chris, really been wanting to make a planted tank. Can I use pool filter sand or use stratum?
Both are fine! For pool filter just make sure you fertilize it somehow
yayyy, love being early for chir s's magical videos that make my grades go up
Petition to get Chris to start a saltwater tank ->
ayyyyy 1am gang lets go!!
You should look into cord organizers

I love these videos because they are so relaxing
Also first for once!
Ooooo u are first 😁
Those water spangles.
Yay I’m earlyyy:))♥️
My cherry shrimp had babies
I use a product called organic aqua which releases millions of microscopic bacteria. Would the fluva UVC clarifier kill that bacteria?

In a recent episode of Jackson Galaxy, where he helps a problem cat that eats a towel, he gifted them a betta fish in one of those stupid "tanks"!!!
Oh no..
Why would you... give a living fish as a gift... to a house with a 'problem cat'?!
To give the cat something to focus on other than eating fabric, to entertain it. But he's used the fake robot fish in the past, so i don't know why he used real fish this time!
