@@Gazabyte seeing Bungies new IP gives me hope there will be a D3. I was going crazy thinking it was D3, won’t be surprised if they announce a new destiny game at the FS showcase
What everyone fails to realize is that a new Game Engine will NOT fix Server Issues, Bugs or anything. If anything it will be even MORE buggy. They have their own proprietary D2 Engine with thousands of hours of experience and knowledge of. Creating a new Engine from scratch will be even more Buggy. Using an Existing Engine will mean YEARS of Tweaks, having to pay for support and turn around times will be MONTH instead of days for Emergency Patches. D3 is not the way to go.
While I appreciate that a new engine would be a mammoth undertaking, I didn't suggest a new engine. That's something that's in the community zeitgeist currently, but the Tiger engine itself is more than capable of creating a Destiny 3. Just look at Call of Duty. That game has seen marked improvements over the years, and their engine is from the early 2000s.
Why would a third game solve everything? It would/will just end up like it is now. Destiny is a pretty complex game. Destiny is coming to an end, and we're/I am ready for a complete new game from Bungie.
It's another chance to reset. Destiny 2 was built under the premise that there would be a Destiny 3, most likely after the year of Shadowkeep. Instead however, we've continued to build and build on top of these foundations, while losing locations and other activities that should really have remained in the game.
@@Gazabyte Destiny 3 was an Activision plan for Bungie to fulfill a 10yr game cycle. Bungie is definitely not aftaid of walking away from a popular IP or a cash-cow. Its been said from Bungie that "The Final Shape," will not be the end of Destiny, but would they really tell the truth and ruin players aspirations of wanting more and potential sales of the next expansion. This is my theory. Destiny will end in the next two years. We are sort of the muscle in the game, and it will end with us dying without our ghost, fighting to the death and saving the Universe. Our foe will be the Traveler, and we are ending its loop of giving hope, then taking it away, inviting these endless wars with beings of the Universe. IMO
@@mezz0075 You're spot on with that if the Final Shape really was the end of the franchise, we wouldn't know about it until after TFS was released, and I love your ending to the story, but I just don't think they will end Destiny here. They may put D2 on life support, releasing seasonal content occasionally, or they might gear up for D3. Either way, my thoughts are that, as a player since the beginning of the franchise, I think D2 is falling apart at the seams, something's got to change.
@@Gazabyte When Bungie does decide to walk away, I hope Sony doesn't make the same mistake Microsoft did by setting a blaze of Halo. Bungies upcoming game might be made on the UnrealEngine 5, and if true, that will be big. Like HUGE!!
100% they feel in a terrible state at the moment. I think they could improve with Destiny 2, but Destiny 3 would give them the opportunity to optimize.
damn everyone hates on gambit. but i prefer it to pvp. to me pvp is trash. i guess i just dont get the hate. but the hate most have for gambit i have for pvp but im not calling for removal of pvp
I think you've just got to look at facts. Gambit hasn't hit the heights that Bungie had envisioned. Players complain about the mode no matter how much Bungie change it, and I don't think there's anything they can do to make it a mode that most players care about.
I'm sure it will happen one day, the way we are going, the game is so bloated that it's either remain in D2 and end up having locations and weapons cut from the game anyway, or move onto D3, and rebuilding the game.
It’ll never happened. They confirmed they’re won’t be a Destiny 3
Things change, I would bet my house on there being a Destiny 3 someday. Whether it's in 2 years or 5 is the only thing I'm uncertain of.

Would love a D3!
Think it's about time, I'd love to see what they could do with a third (and final) version.
So funny that there is now fishing in the new season

Based on the work needed and how it would be worse if they changed Game Engine, I would rather they stay with D2.
Just more stable servers would be a bonus so I'm not having to gamble my solo dungeon runs. :D

Its not gonna fix the issue, if anything it will be much worse.
Gaz? It's been so long dude how have you been going
Hey Bio, been good, Tarkov being Tarkov has made me not want to play or make content so I'm trying something completely new 👍

So everyone can be mad about having to start over and then crying until they port over all of their D2 gear. Unlikely to happen
