Part of me wants D3, the other just wants to stick with D2. When D2 came out and D1 stopped being the main game, a lot of people that I played with stopped playing, and often when i bring destiny up to anyone their usual response is "I played the first one". The issue we had with D1 was lack of content, same thing with D2 for a while, both eventually got chunks of content but it happened with both games so I imagine the 3rd will be no exception. We also just started getting content from D1 carried over to D2 to kind of bridge that gap of content we wanted, and I just don't want another few years of slowly adding in old content from D2 into the new game, just a repeating cycle.
Perfect response. Them making D3 I do not think will make them fix their ways, it’s just a new game to repeat the same issues. Bungie has not been good at moving forward, they’re always one step forward, two steps back. I know most of my friends are either not going to buy D3 if it is made or some of us are just going to wait for reviews as we’re scared of a D2 launch incident with their new game.
I need them to make it so I can play the full light and darkness saga, in its entirety and all seasonal story missions (albeit abridged) that are related to it e.g chosen, haunted, seraph, splicer, arrivals etc.
Exactly. The same way that MMOs have their expansions and stories. A new player coming in now? Will have no idea what's going on or experience the weight of the narrative movements happening in Final Shape.
there are so many races and planets we have yet to explore, sure the witness genocided a fk ton of them but with the witness gone, life can flourish in all its chaos. Get me out of Sol pls.
eh, the realism of Destiny lore’s roots in a Golden Age Earth is what attracted me in the first place. If we move out of Sol, what makes this different from any other alien sci fi fantasy game
D1s lore and world building was what made Destiny so interesting. The apocalyptic feeling and non cartoony aesthetic. Now with D2 the lore and visuals feel like LSD. D1 was reality and you just took LSD and got D2
Certainly if bungee comes out and says let's say 6 months from now and they say hey destiny 3 is in the works for 2028; destiny 3 would only be successful if it's a fresh game and for God's sake if they throw away seasonal content. Nobody is going to buy destiny 3 if it's gonna be the same issue's content design that we have with destiny 2 where it's nothing but recycled reused content rewards ideas that people fucking hate. destiny one content was so great because it offered a new experience it offered new rewards it wasn't always the same! Ever since I played Destiny since 2014 I would always buy the Deluxe expensive edition of the game, but final shape the way the content is I'm only gonna buy the standard it's not worth it to pay a $100. Personally to me the seasonal content should be free it's not worth the money.
It was always going to eventually happen. D2 was not meant to be a long term MMO - the architecture was never designed to be modular over the long run the way that it is being developed now. Eventually improvements in technology and development practices, as well as the evolving needs of the franchise itself, was always going to eventually make a sequel necessary. It’s going to happen. That’s not a guess - it’s an inevitability. Bungie cannot reach the next zenith in Destiny’s potential without that.
I want a Destiny 3 because it would give them the opportunity to create a much better onboarding experience for new players and throw all previous content into it. This weekend of trying to get my cousin and an acquaintance(fresh account) back into the game after a while was an absolute nightmare from a user interface and tutorial perspective. New light quest track doesn’t address nearly enough, and even though part of it is skippable, so many fundamentals are just left out in the cold. They need to find a way to standardize things for Destiny 3 for new players AND bring all the old content back into a single package with a fresh coat of paint. In other words, simplify the user interface to the relative size of an atom. Hire some technical writers and user experience experts to get this done with efficient and not long-winded language for everything. That’s all they need to do on top of the additions that final shape is already bringing to the table and I’m positive with competent narrative design destiny will be the game it was meant to be. Oh and fire those execs Sony. Their greedy practices almost put this studio in the ground.
I don't think it will be d3, I think it will be a prequel story. if its a real D3 I do not want to start again for them to drip feed me stuff that was already in the game. Either it will need to be a completely brand new. New guns, new enemies, new planets. Or let me port everything over, my vault, my characters, my progression.
I want it brand new aswell clear vaults. I hate that d2 is just 50% new stuff and 50% old shit I just want a new stuff I wanted old stuff I can go back and play d1.
Destiny also said they won't bring back sunset weapons... Things are always shifting. If D3 is going to make them money, they will always shift toward that direction. D2 presale for the final shape right now is also all time low. I'm sure the only way for them to bring the title & players back is "D3".
One the other side you have the CEO of Bungie Justin Truman who says as a live service game you have to deliver content fast. So in their mind its exactly not a marathon
I think they can do the reputation-reset and "start over" thing without creating a new game client. They can simply dedicate the following year to restore content such as the Red War campaign and severely rework the new player experience, create a cohesive and easily digestible way for them to get used to the mechanics as well as the story. And whatever the new saga is, they can update the already existing D2 client and call it D3 without getting rid of all the progress they made with this game. Whether the loot should stay or not, I don't know. But new guns are almost always better than the old ones anyway, so who cares if they stay.
After all the money Players have sunk into D2, including myself, I don't want D3. They just need to call it Destiny and let players carry over gear. At least exotics and cosmetics.
Actually no I just think that thumbnail image was just a memorial for the people that we lost over the years in destiny. People want destiny 3 so bad they're just willing to say anything or show anything and make up a random interpretation that makes no sense whatsoever. It's up to bungie if they want to make a sequel think about what Blackburn said he's leaving after final shape. Personally to me I don't think bungie is in a good place right now to even consider to make another destiny game.
from the leaks/rumors i read , there will be no Destiny3 or anything related to it till 2028; i mean there will be a Destiny3 in some point, but if the leaks/rumors are true , destiny2 will still have ALOT of content coming till 2027: my guess is when the new consoles arrive , will have some kind of news about destiny3, 2029/2030....
Problem with D3 for me is that Bungie will have to do a lot for me to want to buy a whole new game. I’ve played Destiny from alpha - now and for me D2 launch into curse of Osiris was the only point where I thought I was going to fully quit the game. If there is a launch like that for D3 then gg. I know people are saying they’ll learn and whatnot but in my experience Bungie has been 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Look at witch queen: good raid, good campaign, PvP is PvP (was interesting), then look at light fall: terrible campaign (one of the worst I’ve seen - especially with how the early seasons handled the gaps not told in the main campaign) and the raid besides from visuals to me is boring and is almost on D1 Crota vibes for me. So in summary I’m mixed feelings. Now I do understand that them overhauling the technology in D2 would probably be too cost heavy so D3 does seem more likely but I’m just hoping if it does come out the game does actually learn from D2 and works to improve everything and not just make D3 into the same game we have been playing. To me that would just suck.
I think D3 was going to happen until the wheels fell off D2 due to leech execs bleeding the cash cow too hard. Then they had to lay off staff, crunch the rest, delay the DLC, and rip Prismatic out of D3 and transplant it into Final Shape to get sales up high enough to stave off the Sony board takeover. Which, by the way, is objectively the worst outcome for the franchise. Everyone seems to be thinking that Bungie is suddenly making good decisions now, after 10 years of sustained bad. Interview after interview of former devs saying, yep its the execs absolutely ruining everything. Prismatic isn't the great news everyone thinks it is. There's a cost. Look at the timeline. Final Shape showcase in summer 2023: 1 new super for each class is good enough, also we give up on Gambit and Crucible, we just aren't the company to make content for those modes. 6 month DLC delay - 10% staff layoff Prismatic subclasses, new crucible maps, Gambit actually received a piece of content, brand new enemy faction, unsunsetting, Into the Light, etc. Do you think they made *all that* in 6 months? From 1 super per class to here's an entire overhaul of the subclass system and more? Or is the only thing that makes any sense at all that Prismatic has been in development for years amd the execs mortgaged the future of the franchise *yet again* to keep their jobs.
@Understandmed8 I see them just updating the engine and going to just destiny and changing things as time goes on... it makes sense that way we don't lose everything that we've worked for but it can still change and evolve
@@DEMON_SUNGODthe remaster is available on Xbox one, but it’s full price since it just came out like a year ago. I want a D3 in a sense but I think MY D3 would be a bit of a different direction for the game since D2 lost me a few years ago now and it would be much closer to D1.
What i want destiny to do is make stasis and strand obtainable without beyond light and light fall im a f2p player and its sad i cant use those subclasses without paying money and lightfall isnt cheap i could get most games for the price of lightfall i just wish they would either add more content in those dlcs to make it a worth while investment or make them cheaper cause currently i dont see a point in getting them when i could buy a full game instead of getting a single dlc
D3 needs to happen D2 has no chance of being a good experience for new players it will always be complicated for new players and they won't fix it as it costs to much. So new players aren't coming in that fast plus why come in now 10nyears into a story. A story that doesn't even have half of its story available. It just makes sense to make d3. As a place where players can come back to the game or can play for the first time
To be honest, the concept of a new Destiny just demotivates me to play Destiny 2. Why should I grind away hours for weapons and armor that I'll likely not be able to take with me into the new game? Why should I spend more money on the game if the next entry will wipe it all away? I love Destiny, really, but just the community talk alone of another game has made me stop playing Destiny 2 as much. Also, what would be their strategy of release? D2 is free. If D3 is free, why not just be an update for D2 like Overwatch did? If it's full price, what's my incentive to stop playing the free game I've spent thousands of hours in?
The only way a Destiny 3 works, is if our character arc dies, and we start over from an entirely new society. That's about it. I don't know if it'll involve humans, since we didnt know about Neomuna, but realistically we would need to be far from the Sol system for it to work. That way it justifies why we don't have gear we already had.
Because sequel sells. Sony and Bungie already knows that destiny has a huge onboarding problem and the best way to bring new blood in and to put fresh new energy into a franchise is to make a sequel. A company would rather invest in the sequel than a new property because they know the sequel has a better chance of selling.
They should make some apps that relate to destiny or other games such as marathon. I mean you have to think about it apps are very very popular now if they make more video games that are apps, they could have a lot more revenue come in
@@SlongestKongest Reminds me of the Blizzard fiasco for their new Diablo mobile game, while everyone expected a fleshed out game for PC. The devs just responded with "Do you guys have no phones?" haha
Destiny 3 will come eventually just not any time soon. Bungie is working on Marathon and smaller projects. They don’t have the free time at the moment to even work on a Destiny 3. Most likely they’re working on a singleplayer prequel game to hold fan off until D3 has begun being developed.
i seriously dont think theres ever gonna be a destiny 3. i think all this new stuff is just a new project and people are freaking out like they did with telesto being bugged
Well, if final shape doesnt perform well with sales. Sony probaly gonna take over. So safe bet is that a new destiny game will keep sony off their backs. Just my opinion
Also something that destiny 3 really needs is the option to turn harder difficulties you know harder modifiers on and off like what we see with division 2. Players in division 2 they can make the game the hardest that they fucking want or they can make it too easiest. Think about when bungee made Neptune a little harder they forced the challenge on players the challenge should always be the player's choice. Just like destiny 2 2017 remember that bungee treated players like they're stupid picked how the subclass should be operated! My biggest problem with the game and a lot of people are saying the same thing too that the option of choice is absent in destiny unlike what we saw in destiny one; where everything was based on the choice how you play and who to play with it wasn't about ohay must have this title must have this rank. I guess you could say that I want to see a much strict system against toxic players who wants to alienate people for not having a fucking title for God's sake what about the new players what if they don't have the conqueror title they're not allowed to play nightfall that's fucking stupid. I'm serious before I got the conqueror title on my birthday this year I literally saw people who told other players that you can't play GM unless you have conqueror Some of my best friends left destiny because of that!
Destiny 2 doesn’t have the room for more years of seasonal content. Just put back in the essentials that were taken away (Leviathan Raid(s), Scourge of the Past), some key strikes and story missions from the Red War campaign/Osiris. Then start fresh with a Destiny 3 using the knowledge you’ve learned from Destiny 2.
Whatever the next Destiny will be called it’s still Destiny 3. This year is the last full year of D2, all the signs are there. It won’t be next year, they’ve got to get marathon out the door, the first dlc for it to drop. We may get some content next year but nothing like a yearly drop. Maybe even bringing things out the vault or bringing d1 into d2 as a final hoorah. The reality is, destiny is bungie’s bread and butter, Sony know that and won’t allow bungie to ditch it. Bungies biggest problem is the higher ups leaving after marathon ships and taking their bonuses. And for those that don’t know. They’re due bonuses when the game launches and the first content pack drops. If they don’t meet the criteria they get jack shit.
Yes destiny 3 will happen even if bungie doesn’t want to. Sony didn’t buy bungie just for them not to make another destiny game. What has bungie been known for the past 10 years? Destiny it certainly not gonna be for marathon. Even with the current struggles of bungie and destiny, it will still be, happen. Sony isn’t going to shut down bungie if final shape flops; they just paid all this money for them
I highly doubt it simply because I myself cannot fathom what can possibly be past light and dark. Light is all things physical touched by the light of the sun and darkness is all things done in the background of reality, neither good nor evil but both tools used by good and evil. I mean I can totally see other entities of darkness attempting to make it into the light, but why continue the fight when we can harmonize, resonate and end it all with a final shape? Then if we need something more we can get it in a different game that comes after destiny and it’s universe have shut down.
If there were to be a D3, the Tiger engine it's made in has to go. It's outdated and has more issues than Vogue magazine. Will there realistically be a third? Probably not, A prequel maybe? Who knows. Personally, I'd rather see Sony put its movie department to work and see a trilogy of films.
The day Bungie stops making games for consoles is the day that Elon Musk gets to Mars. Bungie was practically made famous because of Halo: Combat Evolved and that released on the original Xbox. And they’ve been making games on consoles ever since so I don’t see why they would stop. Also, that would do horribly for the money they make off of their games by catering to one platform.
Did you know that the PS5 and Xbox S X, run on x86 architecture and are practically PCs? I do agree with the guy that it should be made on the next generation of consoles because by the time Destiny 3 would come out the PS5 would be like 7 years old. But it's to do with the consoles power and not their architecture because their architecture is the same as a PC. That's why people want Destiny 3 on the next generation of consoles so that they aren't held back by 7-year-old hardware@@Saint_Wolf_
? I don't think so. They have a good amount of employees and some of them are working on marathon and a huge chunk of them are working on Destiny. If they know that Destiny is their money maker then they are going to stick with it or make a sequel rather than put all their eggs into the marathon basket which may or may not fail

Why would Sony invest billions to take a chance on games bungie hasn’t released yet, destiny makes money. It’s not going away.
I mean you have to think about it apps are very very popular now if they make more video games that are apps, they could have a lot more revenue come in
Like destiny mobile? How would that even work
@@SlongestKongest Reminds me of the Blizzard fiasco for their new Diablo mobile game, while everyone expected a fleshed out game for PC.
Yeah guys d3 year one will definitely not be like d2 and d1 year one and almost kill the game
Will they make D3? Yes.
Anytime soon? No.
Do I want it? YES!
Well, if final shape doesnt perform well with sales. Sony probaly gonna take over. So safe bet is that a new destiny game will keep sony off their backs. Just my opinion
Ps6 needs exclusive day1, d3 will be there
destiny 3 is coming but it will be inside destiny 2 also eventually bungie will remove the number 2 and it will just be called DESTINY
According to the leak (not saying it’s true) Destiny 3 isn’t just going to be a huge update to Destiny 2. It will literally be a whole new game
I'd rather not have another overwatch "2" situation
I think bungie wait for marathon to see how it going if it fail then is gonna be destiny 3
I’m hoping for destiny 1 re-release
Just got to wait and see if it’s true or not.
not till like 2032 or something i think
Yes destiny 3 will happen even if bungie doesn’t want to. Sony didn’t buy bungie just for them not to make another destiny game. What has bungie been known for the past 10 years? Destiny it certainly not gonna be for marathon. Even with the current struggles of bungie and destiny, it will still be, happen. Sony isn’t going to shut down bungie if final shape flops; they just paid all this money for them
honestly, i want it too
I highly doubt it simply because I myself cannot fathom what can possibly be past light and dark.
I feel bad for the sheep
I hope so
Do you really think spamming the same reddit posts as content everyday will help grow your channel? 😂
I better hope so otherwise the franchise is dead!
Not even close to happening just yet
It will happen i know it will because Destiny 2 is all messed up
Holly 💩 byf ate byf
If there were to be a D3, the Tiger engine it's made in has to go. It's outdated and has more issues than Vogue magazine. Will there realistically be a third? Probably not, A prequel maybe? Who knows. Personally, I'd rather see Sony put its movie department to work and see a trilogy of films.
It is coming.
If they do make destiny 3 im out bungi will recycle the previous two games just think how many recycled stuff wi haw from D1.....
I hope it doesnt and i dont think it does
Helldivers is over hyped. Super boring game after you play for a couple weeks.
The world will end and Jesus will come back before D3 is ever released. Believe now while you still have time.
I think it should do the WOW thing and he a PC exclusive, not have to deal with the nonsense of console architecture.
Only in a perfect world. I hope it’s at least exclusive to the NEXT gen consoles and above.
@@Scromanoe but then you need to deal with thee nonsense architecture and dedicate time to develop for it, cutting down fat would do wonders.
Bonkers take
Make more original ideas
It’s not lol
Yes it’s coming in a few years. No need for this video.
What a horrible title
Definitely no, they're too invested in Marathon. However I can see Destiny License being bought by another company.
?
I don't think so. They have a good amount of employees and some of them are working on marathon and a huge chunk of them are working on Destiny. If they know that Destiny is their money maker then they are going to stick with it or make a sequel rather than put all their eggs into the marathon basket which may or may not fail
Untill bungie says otherwise im inclined to believe a d3 is in the works as we have no clue about the future post TFS episodes
they have said otherwise though
