  • Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has admitted that his party are headed for defeat at the general election and that they are headed for a 'large Labour majority'.
“I can’t look you in the eye and say we’re on course to a fourth victory.”
“The fact is we are behind in the polls and the polls are indicating a large Labour majority,” he says.
“That background shouldn’t put us off, shouldn’t demotivate us. It should remotivate us to work that bit harder.”
In a wide ranging interview with i's Chief News Correspondent David Parsely, Rees-Mogg also touches on Nigel Farage, abortion and his own character.

No. The tory party has shown that it is completely beyond saving and has absolutely no intention of enacting the will of the british people.
Making a nationalist the head of a globalist party is a stupid idea.

It's no longer the Tory party but a distasteful melange of the liberals and green parties so the question is not even academic. The few true Torys who remain in the party would be better off joining Reform because their credentials are not so sullied.

They're the ones who pushed a hard Brexit, their allies bet against the pound and caused a lot of our economic troubles, and they're the reason we have labour shortages that in fact force increased immigration to fill the gaps in our many failing systems (In fact, were it not for them the small boats issue wouldn't exist as we'd still be processing people abroad like we were before). They and the Tories have worked hand in hand for the last 14 years pushing us towards collapse so thinktanks, foreign powers, and the wealthy can pick this country's bones clean. They are traitors, not patriots, they use your pride in the country to ruin it.

The first thing that needs to be done is change to Proportional Representation otherwise it is so unfair and biased. Secondly the NHS Needs to lose its diversity managers as that could fund many more nurses. The NHS is already diverse. Then l think if you go through the layers of management earning big salarys a lot of them could be cut/phased out and the biggest problem of all, having to buy from central places and not being free to choose best value for money without cutting quality. That would make a huge change and the money saved could be better spent on patient care and nurses.
What happened to all the nightingale hospital, equipment etc that took millions of taxpayers money but never delivered?

Yes, Farage probably would have been a Tory wing in past centuries, but that was before the party machines started picking all the candidates and telling them how to vote on pain of de-selection. Preselection is why the Conservative Party is no longer conservative. And why we can't work within the party structure to put up more conservative candidates. It's a closed shop. Members rejected Sunak, Westminster MPs found a way to put him in anyway. It's a shame because 2 party system is best. Why doesn’t Jacob open it up? A few primaries perhaps, instead of quotas.
