This was a warm and fuzzy feeling kind of episode. Imagine preparing food for the disciples and having them casually fight over who gets more. I loved the interaction, the simple everyday stuff.

This was a great episode, especially the scene with Martha and Mary. I loved how Jesus was so gracious to both of them. Always enjoy your comments.

I said this in the livestream that The Chosen just had, but I love the scenes where Jesus’ humanity is shown through Mary being a carrying and loving mother. I think The Chosen does it well and I enjoyed the table and chair making scene in The Passion of the Christ.

That was a great scene in The Passion of the Christ as well. Both scenes really highlight the Mother and Son relationship.

Can we talk about how good Martha's food presentation was. She was like the original Martha Stewart. Mary was in the better place, sitting next to Jesus, but I would enjoy Martha's food.

You’re not lying there. It was so good that several disciples pretended like they hadn’t eaten one already so they could get another. I really like the way they handled that scene.

This episode was really good, I do think it had a meaning running through it which was all about Jesus’ words and how it is important to really pay attention to what He is teaching, this ran through the main theme of the episode as the scene where Jesus and his followers had to carry the Romans equipment, this was set on what Jesus has been teaching them in His sermon, seeing who He is and how He wants them to be through His words and example, I loved the contrast between Judas and Phillip and Andrew, they understood whereas Judas didn’t allow Jesus’ words to help him learn, this is also at the scene with Jesus at Mary and Martha’s house, he spoke about these things passing away but how His words will never pass away, he is trying to get through to Judas, and whereas James is starting to understand what it means to be last now, Judas has chosen to listen to another person’s words, have you noticed even though everyone else doesn’t understand fully, at least they are starting to learn and are open whereas Judas is so fixed on his idea of who Jesus should be, he decides to visit his old friend who isn’t a good influence on him and it’s really sad to see him making that choice now to not pay attention to Jesus’ words and digest them to understand which will last a lifetime as Mary has and which Martha begins to learn, I think this was also for Judas but you see him beginning to make his choice as he starts to keep some money aside, he has chosen to sit at his friends feet instead. Have you noticed that it starts off being not so bad like it sounds like a good idea but really it doesn’t actually make sense to what Jesus wants him to understand about who He is and what He first comes to do, and it begins small but turns into something which will lead him to betray Jesus and a heartbreaking end. It’s so sad truly ❤️ but I loved the deeper lesson in this episode for us all to learn to pay attention to Jesus’ words and what they truly mean and how we can live them out as Jesus wants us to.
Also the scene with the two Pharisees, I can see that Yusif was sent here to support Shmel because he was alone and now he has someone who thinks good about Jesus which could ultimately help Shmel to turn to Jesus and do the right thing, let’s see how this unfolds x

You’re right that the advice Judas takes seems good at first but ends up leading him down a dark road one small step at a time.

2:25 No miracles? What about the healing of Gaius' son? That was huge, considering what is going on with Gaius spiritually, coming to faith in Jesus.

I appreciate the comment. That was done in the previous episode. What I meant was in this episode there were no major miracles or biblical events. Instead what drives the story for this episode are the character moments.

In case you’re interested and you haven’t already seen it, here’s the link to the video for the previous episode where I discuss Gaius and the healing of his son. That’s actually one of my favorite Bible stories and I think the episode has the best ending of the entire series so far. ruclips.net/video/yU4qCXCUVL8/видео.htmlsi=oS0vS6xNUT8qAB5v

What is also interesting is how Jesus knows what the Pharisees and those different groups are plotting about him, like he knows and it’s so difficult because he says I speak the words of my Father, this is who I am and yet they don’t understand, even my own followers don’t understand but what will make them understand is of course his ultimate sacrifice and resurrection, they will see the bigger picture!
I also see the contrast between the Pharisees and how they treat each other to Jesus’ disciples and the way they treat each other, it’s so different like Jesus’ disciples loved each other, you see them laughing and joking together, you see the sense of family and support for each other, you see how they spoke with each other on the road, each one together talking to each other, always different whereas you go to the Pharisees and they are just awful to Yusif who is new, they just look down on him, they are so prideful and look down on each other because they think they are better than him, you can see Jesus was right about them deeply. And the evil to think that this is justified, to kill Jesus and partner with someone they didn’t even agree with, such evil to even want to kill someone and Schmel and Yusif get this more discerningly and are shocked!

Great observation about the contrast between the disciples and the Pharisees.
