As long as your doing ok and home, Bailey and the truck are good then whenever you bring us along for a drive is just perfect. Thank you for all the content you show us :) Cheers from Oz
The last time I crossed that was about 1985 or so and it was only a single span. Every expansion joint and I mean every expansion joint stuck up about 2 inches above the pavement. I swore I would never cross it again. I thought it was going to beat that old 359 all to pieces. Since then they built the northbound span and seperated the lanes. I know it was a lot better even being in Louisiana. And the speed limit was 45. Thanks Dan, from another retired trucker
a retired trucker myself, I do enjoy your videos , Thanks Dan
My uncle Jim Hutchinson was one of the contractors that built part of the original bridge back in the 50s. I also got my seaman's papers in NOLA, and shipped out of there in the late 60s & early 70s. Love that part of the world!
Wow that’s some serious bridge you crossed Dan.
Hello Dan Thanks for all you do from a retired Trucker.
THANK YOU SIR!!!💯🫶🏼🇺🇸🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Going across that lake was excitement enough for me. Stay safe
That's a loooong bridge. You can see the curvature of the earth on that drive. Thanks for taking us across, been many a year since we traveled over the lake.
Don't let a flat-earther hear you say that. 😂
average lake depth is around 14 feet. During hurricanes, most damage to boats is from them hitting the bottom during swells. Used to do the commute every bloody day, way back when. South into the city in the A of M and north in the evening
Hi from France, there's à Hank Williams song about that lake....
That was a fun trip across the bridge. I would hate to do that in bad weather. Thanks for taking us
I’ve followed you for a long time. For me it’s good content just to be part of your working days 👍
Thanks Dan for posting. Peace...!
No negative drama for you. Nice to see.
So many times crossing that road picking up raw rubber in New Orleans and back.
Watched many drivers following gps in New Orleans and getting stuck on side streets with low tree limbs
I did use the scale at that truck stop and found I was 3000 lbs over 80000 and had to turn back and get load made right
Only bridges I like are the ones 3' from the ground on dry land. 😄😁😆. B SAFE
🚛💨💨💨💨
Welcome back Mr.Dan, thanks for the ride !
Look forward to you posts whenever they pop up. Thanks for doing them and taking us along. Question- I know Bailey is great company for you but do you recognize or sense that she enjoys being out on the trips? I guess whether she does or not her purpose is to be with you. I think I answered my own question so nevermind.
As they say where there's a cause there's a way.
Good Saturday morning Dan and Bailey. Use to take that bridge from 2006-2008 after Katrina. It was a floating bridge! If you went over 45 mph you could feel the bridge start to roll! Took the bridge from Slidell to new Orleans everyday. Was NOT fun with a lowboy and a cat 319 excavator. Thanks for bringing back some memories! Hi Bailey!
Welcome to the great state of Louisiana!
Nice orange escort vehicle at 5:17. 😂
Hey Dan love to watch your videos!
I once made a very bad decision to cross that bridge during a small hurricane 1.
Down in my neck of the woods. The NOLA!!!
That's One Long Ass Bridge 😧
Happy to say, as a Brit, I've been over that Pontchartrain bridge several times, going in and out of "Nawlins". Fantastic build.
Hope all is well and no breakdowns. It was nice to see Bailey sleeping on the seat and being quiet till you hit the Honda place.
Stay safe. Hope to see you at MATS.
Love the drive across the bridge! Be safe
❤ Thanks ❤️
Stay safe brother from the imperial county California 👍🇺🇲
Huge crossover we’ve got nothing like that on Oz enjoy your weather ✌
Sometimes it’s just about putting Mile stickers in your back pocket and making hay when the sun shines. Thank you Dan for taking the time to make these videos and keep on trucking.
Nice video thank you
I’ve crossed that bridge a lot of times in my years. Been to that truck stop also. Sorry you had to load at the port. 😂 Hopefully it’s gotten better since I was there back in the day. I guess I’ll find out in the next video. Be safe.
Hello Dan! Looks like you and Bailey are doing well and Running the Miles. Keep up the Strong 💪 Efforts and Thanks for the video. 👍🙏
718 video ends with you going to phoenix this starts with in Louisiana. Did I miss a video. 🤔
You kinda rolled past what you said, a 22 mile bridge----YIKES!
I always love your videos, but this one touched me more than usual. I lived and worked in the NOLA area from 79 - 82. My first job was just south of the Causeway Bridge and later I was the Manager of a little restaurant just north of the bridge. It is amazing to see the total change of scenery ond growth. Stay safe!
Feels good to be on land after driving across that bridge is how I always feel everytime I hauled over it!!!!
I’m looking forward to the port operations.
I love your videos and would like to see more road footage and some when you go thru cities
Hello dan we saw you on I 64 in Illinois going east bound 3/9/24 safe travels
The bridge was neat! Thanks Dan for your service!
Driven the Ponch bunches of times! It's an amazing drive! Safe travels!
Pushing 60k Dan! Congratulations! Your content is always interesting, don't ever think it's boring. That was cool when you went across the Causeway, can you imagine back in the day when one bridge served both directions? As always, safe travels to you and Bailey
That bridge is old I went over it in 1970 going to deliver in florida
Thanks Dan
Been across that bridge once, pretty cool. I think Louisiana is probably the most interesting state I've been to, between some of the crappy highways, bayous and old infrastrructure. This wasn't a boring trip with you at all, it brought back some great memories.
That’s one heck of a bridge! Wow
I've been across that bridge and it seems like you are driving across the ocean
Good to have a day with nothing exciting to report. Stay safe.
Thanks for taking us along. Keep on trucking!
HEY DAN BEAUTIFUL RIDE TO DAY ! BE SAFE BE BLESSED ! 🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾🇺🇸🇺🇸
Noticed the matching orange Dodge Charger in front of you. Stay safe
Always grateful for the ride. Less excitement isn't all bad. It usually means things are going well. Stay safe.
I've never been in that neck of the woods, so I really enjoyed your content, seeing a part of the world I'm unfamiliar with. Happy trucking Dan!
Wow that bridge is very long
Greetings 2 U & Ur Fam Mr Dan!!!!! Safe Travels & SUPER SUCCESSFUL TRUCKIN!!!!!!!😎🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🇺🇸💰💰💰💰💰💰💰👍🏾🙌🏾📽📹🎥📸
It seems that the lack of exciting things happening is fairly global Dan our side of the globe is not all that exciting either at the present time , ah well some thing has to happen shortly to brighten life a little . cheers mate "RB" Albury Australia
Good luck getting into the port of New Orleans it's always a cluster all the time
Kinda looked like a bridge inspection boom truck. Where they check under the bridge.
Hi Dan from Kearny Arizona what a great vid . Stay safe
Awesome video Dan, thank you brother👍👍👍
thanks for the look.
any damage done to those bridges to prevent vehicle traffic i think you have to take the long way around that lake. i traveled on the route once, gets kind of windy.
Thanks for the video, Dan! Have a great day and travel safe.
Welcome back my friend and let Bailey know that said hello and you guys have a wonderful day
Hi Dan another great video. Only yesterday I was thinking that I haven’t seen a video for ages,I’m happy now. Stay safe and give Bailey a pat from me. An avid watcher from the Nortfwest of England.
I've been across that bridge. Nice views. Good see you & Bailey! Stay safe.
Another good one Dan 🚛🇺🇸👍
Gotta love them Louisiana roads . I was raised in Louisiana. Great Video. Keep on Rolling. I heard they were working on the bridges and it looks like it needs it.
Thanks for the videos Dan I really enjoy your content because you keep it real with no bs included thank you again. Safe travels 🙏
Hi Dan that was one hell of a bridge. Don’t worry about the content it’s good of you to share the ups and downs of your life on the highway
Stay safe
🌵🇬🇧👍
Not looking for excitement, just like seeing where you go and all the traffic you have to deal with, that's pretty exciting.
Hi Dan, thanks for another of your interesting videos. I don’t think I like that bridge that you had to cross, it’s a little too long for me. Save travels.
How it going DAN
looking good my friend ,
What is the name of the bridge ???
No you have not been across that bridge since I have been watching your videos , I still use the Atlas but I got to admit that GPS is really nice , Little Bailey thinking man dad after that long bridge I am glad we are here 😂😂
be safe take care yourselve DAN
Always enjoy your videos, great scenery, pat bailey, thank you, john yost
In 30-plus years of driving, I never crossed that bridge.
A very nice video and a very long bridge, not much traffic tho.
Have you got your new trailer yet??
Can you do a video on equipment one would need to get into flatbed Chains, straps etc
Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work. I was curious to pick up in the port of New Orleans, do they require you to have a transportation worker identification card to enter the port?
Any updates on the Dorsey step Deck
Here is one for your bucket list. Maybe you have already done this one. The Mobile Bay Bridge system. I have driven on both these bridge systems as well as to Key West when I was driving for Mayflower. And the Chesapeake Bridge system. What moving company did you use to haul for?
those step-down trailers seem like too much work
Both ways use to be toll now it's only south bound, I forget amount of toll cause I take the other bridge the twin spans it's only 6 to 8 miles I believe, it goes into new orleans east and into new orleans, I live in Slidell, I believe the causeway is 24.2 miles long lol
That is completely crazy. How long is that bridge ? Is that the longest bridge in the USA ? Or in the world ?
It’s the longest in the USA. And while not the longest in the world, it is the longest continuous road bridge over water in the world. Longest bridge in the world is over 100miles in China on their high speed rail network.
hey dan, you mentioned dorsey wanted you to pull a drop trailer for around 6 months. what is your plan for all your equipment in you 4 boxes on your current trailer? safe travels!
Safe Travels. Good to see you again, was wondering then remembered you had taken some time off @ home. Love ❤️ ❤❤❤ Miss Bailey. Give her a hug, smooches, & scratches behind each ear.
Dan, out of curiosity, what did you deliver to the Honda dealership?
👍
👍😎👍
