Your Dad keeps chugging along...glad he was able to get bean planting going. Not a bad day for corn planting considering you were jumping between smaller pieces. I commented to a friend last year driving through NW Ohio, wondering about farming some of the open areas with smaller tractors and 2 row planters. Your Dad could probably relate to that.
Thanks for another great video Brian. It was informative and interesting and enjoyable. Wow. Between you and your dad a lot of seed got put in the ground. Your dad did great with a machine he had not used before and put a fair amount of seeds in the ground. Yeah to Bob Brown!!!!! Good job done. ✅ You also covered a lot of ground without any major problems so to speak. That seeder you used is new to me. Doesn’t appear to be a complicated machine but still need to understand it to get the job done. You didn’t seem concerned about that but would bother me until I had it corrected. Don’t totally understand what you are talking about, but trust your understanding of the problem and the machine. Well you and dad had a great day of planting. You have a lot of small fields to do. In our area in central Iowa we don’t have that. Used to big flat fields. Your area is a lot different than ours I believe from what I understand from you. That’s life I guess. About it for now. Hope you can have at it tomorrow again and no rain to stop your progress!!! You both take care and be safe. Thanks Brian for the video and your narratives. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Like it your dad saw you coming up the driveway and in his own way said I got this. And kept going. I think he might like planting beans after years of corn. Hopefully planting went way better then here in mid Michigan. Might need to replant 200+ acres because it rained so hard on already wet fields.
Good video. Hope you are all done. Thinking this video is behind. Had a guy call me about using my 6 row White to fill in places. Another guy already has it and my tractor. Might have to start a rental deal up.😂
Great video! My Dad would say if your boot (work shoe) heel sinks all the way in when you stamp your foot, it's too soft/wet. Never heard of the wheel spin test. But if your Dad said it, he is probably right! 😂
With all of the technology now days implemented into precise seed placement, one would think there would be a system in place to monitor and automatically adjust seed depth and placement which is the #1 factor that any farmer no matter what color or brand of planter they run constantly battles.
Don't know if you're doing wheat harvest yet (I know your videos are about a month behind). We're on day two and had to replace a seized chain on the combine header. It turns out, chains will fail if you use them for fifty years without oiling them (this one was covered with a shield to the point where it is barely visible).
I know how you feel about the size difference, when I go from my 14.5’ self propelled hay mower to my 9.5’ tow behind mower I feel like I’m getting nowhere.
Yeah that wheat stubble needs chewed up some get a little dirt on it, ours was chiseled last fall then nh3 put on, then w pass field cultivator and crumbler it was stil our last to dry just so much trash from the wheat and beans. East central il
It's interesting how alot of you (BFV, Cornstars, ext...) let your ol man work, while you take time off, or get some sleep or rest, while your dad is out working. I've been farming my entire life and I don't believe there's been one time since I've been 16 years old that I've gone to bed or enjoyed time off while my ol man was working in the field. Nothing wrong with it. Just a different mentality.
I went to watch a soft ball game for an hour then relieved him at 9 and worked till 145. I was the last member of brown farms to go to sleep and I usually am.
Love to listen to Bob Brown.Lots of experience, great perspective. Thanks guys.
That really scared me! 18:49 on the video , thought the tractor was on fire!

Enjoy your time with us. Always something different to watch 😊
Loved the picture of dad planting at dusk with sun set. You never said if Emma won her game? Hope so. How is BJ? Great as always.
Good to see the bossman, always impressed how he deals whit all the computer stuff, plugging along and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Great video! Hope the weather holds out for your planting.
Evening Brian, great watch.
Got love listening to the Shawn Ryan show
Growing up all we had were bags. Cow corn varieties but we did switch varieties but only a 4 row planter. so not such a big deal.
Something to watch!
Great video Brian
Thanks 👍
It would be good if you could say the date during the beginning of each video during the planting season.
Mornin!

Yep
Perfect!
Good stuff Brian
Thanks 👍
Great Video Brian, 275 acres in a day, well done
👍👍👍
great video
Thanks 👍
Brian can't you still run a VT over the wheat stubble in the spring
Burn out test is the official way to check fields, it's in the book 👍
What is the advantage of 20 inch corn rows? Do you a special corn head at harvesting?
I've moved alot trees like that with a 851 ford tractor with a blade turned backwards, that looked alot easier
Good job guys
Good video
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
How's the new house going for you your family
Evening
👍👍❤
Do you honestly think if you plant 109 day that you will cut it on day 109. Why not go for the high yield.
We have had 109 be some of our best before
👍
Just wondering, how long have you been married 👰?
Good choice on the Shawn Ryan podcast
