Thanks for another awesome video Brian. It was interesting and enjoyable. Thanks. Appreciate you title to this video about the Fendt and Massey Planter being a great rig. I was getting ready to ask you for you evaluation on them but you beat me to the punch. Thanks Brian. Everything I have learned on your channel about this rig setup has been GOOD!!!!! Keeping all of you Browns busy with some form of field work. Busy time for sure. You have been keeping the planter going Brian with many late nights of planting. Way to go!!!!!! Your rig is lite up at night real well so that helps. You can see what is going on. I remember the days of two headlights and one rear light, old boy those were the days. We planted with an M and then later on we got a 560. Thought we were kings then - ha!!!!!! Of course in those days a 560 was a big tractor. Days gone by. About it I guess. You are doing great with your planting. Hang in there. You all take care and be safe. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
This is the Best Corn Planting rig ever! Fendt + Massey Ferguson...Amazing, best video.. very useful and inspiring.. great.. greetings from traditional Indonesian gold seekers 🇮🇩😍🙏💗
Tuesday I sowed 12 hectares of corn in Alsace with a farmer friend who only has old equipment imported from the US I sowed with a white 4-225 and international 12 seeder and I love the sound of the caterpillar coming from 4-225 if I'm not mistaken the previous owner of this tractor was in the center of Iowa and had re-engined it if I remember in France
Back in the 80s we farmed over 2000 acres in Indiana and planted it with a 12 row JD 7000 ridged and had to "trailer the damn thing every time we moved". With a 1466 with NO cab. Stop being soft young fellers LOL! Heck we even had a 303 combine "No cab"
@@herbhungwell8134I hear ya bro... but... I think these lads are doing a good job...and you referenced about 45yr ago... most of us aren't doing things the way we did then....go back a bit more than than the 45yrs from 80s you cite...and we were using horses....❤
I think it's great that you were able to get to demo this planter I don't know how that works totally so I don't think it's fair for me to assume that it is just all free to use like it sounds but my thing is if this is your best planter ever are you guys thinking of buying this planter.if not does that mean they will or someone else will let you demo another one next year. If that's the case then are you just going to sell the JD sitting in a shed somewhere. I am an old time farmer from the seventies and eighties same time so forgive me for not understanding no one offered me to demo a planter for the year every year so I just wonder how this works in new farming or big farmers. Thanks for your videos.
You might check into the "pats" quick attach for your 3pt. Our new hay mower is a 2 pt hook up and its nice not having the bar in the way. They just attach to the end of the arms. So far so good. The mower is 1200 lb tongue weight.
We ordered our seed, never was able to adjust it after we did our vrt maps due to everyone in field since March, took back 14 bags of corn ranged from 27 to 37, average from 30 to 35
Thinking low voltage on vdrives when rpm drops and slows flow to planter alternator going up hill. I would toggle hydraulics on in tms page and set min rpm where you need.
Nope. The 24 year meters were changed up and jabs issues like this. I've run into this in beans trying to go 8 with speed tube's. Have stop completely to get out of the drop. Somethingabout the meter overfilling or something. Never had it do it In corn
As usual, a very informative and interesting video, with a surprise ending; Well done on the 440 acres. I'm impressed with the Fergi drill, tempting fate here but. that is what you want from precision drills. How on earth do you keep your memory updated with where you've done and where to go next ? Thanks for the ride, look forward to the next. From UK.
When you turn around and plant the empty row, wouldn’t the other rows dig up the planted corn? Or do they not engage with the soil of planted rows? Always great content. Cheers to a solid planting season!!
We run copperhead spike-tooth closing wheels on our 9824 white. We love them! They do a wonderful job breaking up side-wall compaction and ferm up the ground well.
There’s been a few times on my gen 3 20/20 where rows shut off going up or down hill or through low area due to faulty or poorly adjusted push button lift switch from precision on the parallel arms, and it looks like the ones on right side on monitor had little arrow on rows which I think means they aren’t planting. Just something to look at.
I know it doesn’t draw attention, but the cab on your tractor kept you comfortable and out of the dust. You would have looked like a chimney sweep without it. Pretty impressive 440 acres in one day and you didn’t have to race to do it.
Perfect! Was born in 64... as a single digit remember nothing but RED... Then in later we had White planters... A couple of CASE tractors... 70 and 90 series... Your father is a mastermind... My father was a jackass... and still is @84....
Are you still using the electric bike? It seems to me that would be useful in planting and harvesting when you have to get multiple pieces of equipment to a field. Along those lines, you might consider putting a hitch on the front of your Roxor or a raptor and towing it behind your implements.
It could be turn compensation messing things up. Check your position of your 2020 box compared to what it is set for. If orientation is wrong, the gyro is reading funny and causing one side of the planter to act like it's planting around a curve. Turn off turn compensation otherwise in the PDM menu and see if that cures it. I've seen this on my Momentum before. Good luck.
I was paying attention to what you were saying about your singulation messing up when going up hills and also noticed either your vac or fan rpms surging going around a turn a bit after that. could that have something to do with it. i understand the planter in the ground but it still seemed like something odd to me. just.a thought.
A question Sir, Instead of jumping from field to field for test pots, why not have just have a field just for test pots, instead of mixing the corn in the fields ?
Sorry to hear about your vegi intolerances Brian, but seriously tomatoes are the best. Cut them in half, salt n pepper, can't go wrong every day of the week! 😊😊

There's a very fine line of "just right" between too wet and too dry.
Great effort.

Great vid Brian. You really need to squeeze your agco guy for the exhaust chrome cover for your Fendt. 😉

Wow 440 acres in one day, you"ve got a good setup with that planter and the flotation tires on the tractor.

Im late but im here for the algorithm.

they still allow you to operate a tractor after the power pole lol
Oh yeah. It’s a three strikes system lol

Does it not mess up seed placement on already planted seeds when going over the seeds in the ground?
We've been placing hybrids on fields for a while in the long run it's worth it for sure, we feel,

Really curious. Different varieties planted next to/within other varieties. Does one variety pollinating another affect it's yield?
Lets get brian to 200k subs😊
I think strip tillage is the way to go
Hey Brian, will planting different varieties of corn so close in the same field throw off your yield data due to cross pollination?
Question on when you are back filling your unplanted rows, dose this affect the already planted seeds?
With the Rx seeding, are you targeting max yield or minimum expense per acre? There's a difference.
Wow my neighbor has an 84' Seedhawk air drill and only does 450 acres/day here in Sk.
How did the roller situation go? Are you going to plant any beans with the massy planter?
Perfect! Was born in 64... as a single digit remember nothing but RED... Then in later we had White planters... A couple of CASE tractors... 70 and 90 series... Your father is a mastermind... My father was a jackass... and still is @84....
I was given responsibility of planting 1100 acres several yrars ago with an old U minneapolis and 2 2row planters tied together. Had no skips 😂
I would say is when you're going up healing. You slow down them. Tubes are getting dust in them and your senses are probably covered with dust
Are you still using the electric bike? It seems to me that would be useful in planting and harvesting when you have to get multiple pieces of equipment to a field. Along those lines, you might consider putting a hitch on the front of your Roxor or a raptor and towing it behind your implements.
We do still use it

When did AGco change the planter from White to Massey? Why? Are they basically the same planter?

oh man I miss the family, MAMA BEAR looking just as good as ever😍
All our fertilizer goes in with deep bander only starter is applied with planter. Beans dont require as much preplant.
Liquid anhydrous knifed in with rolling colters as well as other liquid. Entirely liquid applied.
I hull seed into Sabina for seed consultants from time to time

Nothing really. Neighbors got a new pole
Do you use starter or just 28 % top dress?
Just top dress
Gonna have to trade it all in now that you have no dealer support after December

I hadn’t heard they was in trouble with cnh. I was strictly speaking of the equipment. Around here Deere has very mixed reviews.
That’s why Massey planters are such a hot commodity?
Sun spots? If this the time frame of the northern light? They say that affected a lot of guidance.
