I got hella memories of these gems. I mostly remember seeing these on the B68 and shuttles at the Stilwell av station, which was back is slants time. I tell ya the best time to catch these is with it behind a Orion 7 CNG or 1999 Orion 5 CNG. About 2012 I started seeing the new c40 at Stilwell. I was amazed by both this and its older sister interior. I did not know what was better, I soon found out the 1998 - 2000 were retiring, I was shocked. But I grown the love the newer slightly more then the elder. The interior was larger gave a cooler vibe and I absolutely loved the new LED lights and the upgrade stop requested. Rip the 801 - 989. You served NYC well. As for 181 - 672 remain strong! Best busses ever
My god such good memories. #900 C40lf bus was the last C40lf 2000 bus I ever rode beck in early January 2013 and coincidentally the 1st C40lf I ever rode. Thank you 900 for those memories and the rest of the batch.
4:46-4:58 I remember this is by my house and I used to love seeing the black backs old c40 on the B43 and I loved to used to hear the backfire, Man those were the says I tell you.
HELL TO THE YES! I love this review and was waiting anxiously for it! These are thus far the only buses I truly got to see firsthand come in new (as a 3 year old) and go out (as a h.s. sophomore). I can say the same for the Orion 7 CNGs when their time comes soon!
@@NeilQVLGA6455 I believe 1999 New Flyer C40LF CNG #823 MIGHT also still be around somewhere on Long Island. I remember reading on NYCT forums about 10 years ago that it was sold to a private owner to become a party bus. 2009 Orion 7.501 NG CNG #1751 might also still be around as IIRC, that unit was never sent to Cedar creek scrap.

First of all, can you stop with the gems word? Plz?
4:14 blow off valve sounds amazing. I wonder why it's more louder on CNG buses than regular diesels

#958 Was mine.
I remember I caught 801 on the Q38 when I was 5 in 2011, I was out with my mom doing shopping at Queens Center Mall
the song is called On That Day by Desmeon
Hi Kal El, it's very rare seen this buses without ads on the right section. I call this First New Flyers as the Brooklyners.
I love hearing that loud screeching of the old c40lf
I was driving out Gleason when these came in brand new. They were a delight to operate. But they still couldn’t replace the RTS/Nova buses to me.

230 is a pilot and delivered to College Point first as an MTA Bus unit. then converted to NYCTA to West Farms then to Jackie Gleason as the main stay
And returned to College Point Depot to this day
I wish these buses still have existed.

Amazing Review!
I also got a chance to see #230 on a Kensington bound B67
4:07 WHAT THE
C40LF on the S79???
1998 801 was sent to college point depot
I saw it went on Q25 and Q65
It sent to MTA Bus from Jackie Gleason on 2011
Soon after, the MTA would later acquire the C40LF's successor...THE EXCELCIORS!
If u didn't know 186 and 187 logo is in the position of the old C40LF
he meant the depot stickers are in between the first two windows rather above the door
902 is the only unit that has not been scrapped!
That and #848.
@@dodge1515 actually as of today the status of 848 is currently unknown, it’s no longer a movie bus.
@@NeilQVLGA6455 Wasn't last seen a year or 2 ago?
