    I remember my first time riding on this 1997 Newflyer D60HF bus on the Bx55 bus with my grandmother, damn I was excited to ride it! At first I was scared of them, and I had alot of memories riding them. I used to nicknamed these the Accordion bus

    I loved riding all 3 orders of D60HF's and the Detroit Series 50 Engine on all 3 were godly, and I loved the fact that they would do wheelsliping most of the time and some even had roaring engines, the last EVER D60HF I rode was 9501 on the BX9 while an RTS on the BX28 was trailing behind it at kingsbridge.

    I can remember one time I took one on the Bx5 towards Simpson St. It was the unit 1023 as a 1997 unit.

    I remember Kingsbridge Depot having these buses. The 1996-98 D60HFs on the Bx2 were my favorites. Just before the 2012 XD60s and 2010 LFSAs started replacing them

    Impressive review! Really brought back memories. I remember seeing these buses brand new when I came home from college break. We called them accordion buses and you never rode in the back. In the winter during snowstorms the back part would slide around to meet the front on hills. Still I try to ride one whenever I get the chance.

    I think these buses should've remained with MTA NYCT for trippers and Subway Shuttles and maybe transferred some to JFK Depot MTA Bus for the Q10, Q21, Q52, and Q53 routes.

    Amazing! Those D60HFs remind me of the Septa Neoplan An460s. It's too bad both of these buses are retired. Now what was that about a D60HF in Brooklyn? Just imagine these buses out of Casey Stengel Depot on the Q44. That would've been cool, right?

    • @Vxllain
      @Vxllain 4 года назад +1

      You could find D60HF’s in Brooklyn by riding the Q35.

    I remember seeing these buses on the M101 & also the younger sisters are now being retired.

    • @Sevvy_staxkz
      @Sevvy_staxkz 3 года назад +2

      These are the younger sisters. These are the first D60HFs. Then the 1998-2000 D60HFs. Finally, there were the 2002-04 D60HFs.
