Also here's some miscellaneous stuff that I couldn't quite fit into the video: There's a new door at Surface Exit to prevent camping. There's some new loading screens including just launching the game. SCP: Secret Lavatory! Some new props and hallway variants have been added to Entrance Zone! Entrance Zone lighting is NORMAL and not BLUE now! Heavy Containment Zone has a TON of new layouts! Brand new decals for bullet holes like shots on glass have been added. Screen Space Reflections have been implemented (DeviousMelon is happy). & probably more! (will keep updating as I remember more things)
By god, for the longest time I've held the belief that heavy would play so much better if there were less doors, so im glad to see the new rooms and hallways are more open.
Imagine a rust-like game where every single player has to explore and base in an infinite heavy containment zone like this, with monsters lurking around.
I love this focus on the general player experience. Most of the previous updates involved the scps which you only have a tiny chance of getting to play, so this is really refreshing

I dont like the model of the guard, its just like a boring normal security guard from the normal world, they should put them more like on the scp universe for expample the ones of contaiment breach that has riot helmet and such
This update is honestly so amazing While the fun in scp:sl still mostly comes for me from vr chat tier shenanigans, the gameplay improvements are gonna make a huge difference even for someone like me

Yeah, true you have a fair point. I do believe the heavy overhaul and such updates should take priority and not a small detail such as spawn vehicles. However i think in the future when (if ever) the surface zone rework happens, matters like i mentioned should at least get some attention so that the vehicles match the style of the (hypothetical) rework.
Only concern with it is now all the other three zones look terrible compared to it. Just imaging walking through ez checkpoint and going from this crazy realistic and good looking zone to fucking entrance zone
I dont know if its a good idea but maybe they could add SCP 966 wich is basically an invisible lizard and can only be seen with thermal optics, the abilities could be that it drains your stamina when near but you can hear it so you know its there if you dont have NVGs, since they are said to have hollow bones they could be weak but it also has huge claws, additionally it could be slow so that players can have a chance to escape or run from it but combined with other SCPs it could be dangerous
Make 3114 year round, i love him so much. Clutched up so hard while playing as him i can't even describe it. (Everyone died and i was the inly one left, not even pc)
I hope they don't mess up the optimization again (I know they say they are optimizing the game better but with every new update it gets WAY worse. I used to play with 60 fps on max settings before the mimicry update and now I play with 30 fps on the lowest settings with many frame drops. I still don't understand how changing one SCP destroyed the even then terrible optimization and with the way they are going I am fairly certain I will no longer be able to play SCP SL after this update releases.)
Particle disruptor is a bit loud in it's aesthetic design. Feels like a Starfield gun, just a bunch of random shit slapped on to make it look interesting...

The HCZ redesign is only good as far as it changes physical layout. I don't see why they they are focusing intensely on 3d models and polish over gameplay and features. You DO NOT NEED FANCY RESKINS to have fun in coop horror, as shown by lethal company and phasmo.

You will still be able to. If anything, you'll probably be able to get a better performance, since most of the performance issues can be traced back to the cb models which were super unoptimized. Removing them with optimized models will drastically improve performance.
Like that SL is looking more and more like its own thing. Loved the game for a long time but running through containment breach layouts got old a decade ago.
Old models and map actually had way too many polygons. Removing the Containment Breach assets will likely improve performance since that's apparently what's causing most of the performance issues.
