@Fermentum Mobile educate yourself, fruit, veg , wholegrains, legumes etc pack more nutrition per calorie than any other diet. B12 and that's because pesticides and modern day farming. You dont even need to supplement tho so many things such as soy milk, vegan cheese, spreads and so so many are fortified with V12. Whole food plant based diet is the healthiest diet.
In most cases vegans(like myself) would have to supplement for vitamin B12, but certain brands of vegan products are fortified with it.
@Fermentum Mobile No it's not rofl. Being vegan is stupid easy. I have been vegan 9 years, never plan, and my blood tests are always perfect. People claim veganism is hard, but really, its just that they have poor understanding of nutrition, even when it comes to meat.

I’ve followed a vegan diet for almost 3 years and it’s not as hard as people might think. Many people say that vitamin D and B12 are hard to get on a vegan diet. But besides supplementation, you can get b12 through fortified plant milks and nutritional yeast. You can d through sunlight. Doing your research and finding out what works for you is important. Vegan diets vary from person to person and there is all kinds of variety. Thanks for showing what vegan diets have to offer!
"You can d through sunlight" sunlight only turns provitamin d into ordinary vitamin D dude...
sunlight doesn't just macigally transform waves of vitamin D in the form of heat or light energy via radiating lol
Baris Cankaya I was saying that vitamin d is available through contact with sunlight. That isn’t the only way of course. It can also be acquired by foods such as plant milks fortified with d, beans and legumes, nuts and seeds. There are plenty of plant options that contain high amounts of D. I was stating that you can get D through being outside for a period of time so getting D isn’t hard to get on a vegan diet. There is also supplementation for those who live in areas that don’t get sun.

Hemlock Tea yeah don’t think there is bacon on a turkey
The health benefits of the keto diet could be expanded upon, as they are many:
- It's the only existing cure to partially or entirely reverse Type 2 Diabetes, by effectively reversing insulin resistance, thereby greatly decreasing your chance of heart disease and diabetic Alzheimer's, among other things.
- It was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, in order to reduce seizures, and it's still used for this purpose.
- It's an anti-inflammatory diet, through the removal of grains, reduction of FODMAPs and through the recommendation to avoid bad vegetable oils (the difference between clean and dirty keto) etc, and as a result of reversing insulin resistance.
- Although disputed, it's said that it *may* assist in cancer prevention, by removing/limiting the availability and necessity of glucose for cancer cells (Warburg effect).
- It will over time improve your metabolism through a browning of white fat tissue, which initiates heat production in the fat cells, where you will physically notice an increased resilience to freezing. There's even a tiny bit of "energy bleeding" through the release of surplus ketones in urine and breath.
- And its satiating effects through stabalizing blood sugar, not to mention by focusing on fat and protein consumption, can alleviate bad snacking habits and ease weight loss endeavors.
Not often talked about, but equaløy interesting: The keto diet also fills an evolutionary role in a strategy of seasonal dieting, kinda similar to the background of the paleo diet, but where keto can be described as a pre-agricultural "hibernation/winter diet" or even an "Arctic diet", that you consume during winter in order to reverse insulin resistance, support heat production during the cold weather and keep you sustained when food is scarce and body weight may go down. Meanwhile, a more expanded paleo diet is for the summer half, where you consume easily available and more sugary foods in order to "bulk up" before winter. This is in essence what omnivorous animals do, and so it's argued as healthy for humans to do this as well, for all the same reasons as the paleo diet and the keto diet are regarded as improving health.
This is even kinda what bodybuilders do by default with their bulks and cuts and seasonal dieting, although they of course follow their bodybuilding competition seasons instead. In short, bulking is often done in dirty ways with high carbohydrate consumption, and over time the athletes may start to physically feel the effects of insulin resistance. This is then reversed during phases of low carb and caloric cuts.
I started keto to help with insulin resistance, I think I might be type 2 but I can't see a doctor because of corona. I saw an improvement in about 2 days. Even my gi bleeding improved in about two weeks. If you think you have type 2 or insulin resistance I say try it asap. My quality of life is so much better.
Keto is just the bodybuilding diet mentality taken to the extreme, it's not nothing new, just a simple macro change
It works good if used temporarily to lose weight, because it attacks the fat reserves directly in a similar way low intensity/long duration cardio does
But it's not a good option do eat year round, to mantain or gain weight, for obvious reasons
I personally follow a very special and strict diet called "Eat whatever the hell you want in a balanced way" diet, and it works perfectly.

Didn't know there was maple syrup and almond flour in the Paleolithic era
*lol I know, right?*
Syrup is from trees...almond “flour” is ground nuts....nothing new. Not a new invention. Think much?
The reason processed food is so bad for you is because foods with equal caloric values of sugar and fat doesnt really exist in the natural world, things like ice cream, cheese cake glassed donuts, etc all have one thing in common, they all have a 50/50 ratio of sugar to fat. Our bodies aren't equipped to resist this kind of nourishment so we tend to become addicted to these kinds of food versus fruits or meat
Well ,I think is based on the ratio of macros for example nut flour is like high fat ,moderate protein and very low carb and syrup in a non artificial sweetener
ancient humans LITERALLY ground things, there's proof of them using rocks to do so@1234

that's how calorie density works... you could eat 600 grams of spinach or one avocado, they're both 150 cals approx. but the spinach looks like a lot more
Miren Summers I know how calorie density works, it’s not about the definition of calorie density it’s about how unrealistic this is. I could eat 600g of spinach but I don’t. I eat a normal diet that is a lot of food. Are you really out here thinking people don’t know this?
B12 deficiency is not only a concern for vegans. Studies show that 39% of all people are b12 deficient. That's nearly every 4 out of 10 people. Considering that vegan population is about 1-2%, it's clear that it's a concern for non-vegans as well.
There's an easy remedy to that, organ meats 1-2 times a week.Cheaper and more absorbable then synthetic B12 supplements.
Elizabeth R also, sardines. Sardines are an excellent source of b vitamins

And what sugars are in beef jerky? My package shows no carbs at all.
I mean people have been fermenting juice to get drunk since time began, right?
Ur dumb if you think beef jerky has sugar, it’s natural food
Some brands have added sugar, some don't. My guess is this guys does not.
I assumed you don’t know wine comes from fermenting grapes, a natural product. Beef jerky is one of the oldest forms of preserved meat. Silly girl.

Also, the B-12 deficiency thing is a bit of a red herring. Most people, regardless of diet, tend to have a B-12 deficiency....especially on the SAD.
Vegans are the only ones that literally can't get B12.
>inb4 soil tho
Very true! I had serious b12 deficiency on a normal diet. When I went vegan I was much more aware of what I was eating and able to compensate what I was missing and therefore felt the best I ever had! Every diet can be imbalanced, its important to be aware of micros and macros even on a "normal" diet.
Most people on a healthy omnivorous diet that I know do NOT have any deficiency. Are we all outliers?
A lot of the times people with this deficiency have trouble absorbing the vitamin not getting the vitamin. I think he included that so that people on the diet or who are thinking of starting the diet are aware that the vitamin can’t be found in basically any vegan foods (fortified foods not being included duh) so that they take a supplement if they need it.

On a vegan diet, the only difficult nutrient to get is b12 but the same is true with almost every diet, just more so with vegans. We don't have to eat fortified foods to get the other nutrients, though.
This argument is kind of annoying because people anyway hate vegans and veganism and misinformation being spread gives haters a worse idea.
Also, there are a lot more side affects of the low carb diet that are far worse than what was stated here.
I still enjoyed the video, though :)
Have a thumb up, what you said is actually accurate. The video made me angry tbh because it just spreads misinformation and stereotypes
@Moth breeder not sure if you're attempting to be funny or if it's just lazy trolling
we hate vegans because of comments like this. just shut up and move on instead of promoting the stereotype that vegans are annoying shits.
I eat a strict vegan diet, and have low B12 levels. So an injection once per month and lots of nutritional yeast mixed in my meals. Good trade off, I no longer take a daily statin or any other prescriptions.
I think militant vegans give this way of eating a bad name. It's unfortunate too as it is a wonderful way to eat but I wouldn't call myself a vegan for that reason alone.
I've been a vegan for 5 years and haven't found it restrictive at all. Although in my country the availability and amount of vegan products is really good compared to most places, and there's plenty of affordable options. So I can eat normal human stuff too and not only chickpeas and broccoli (which are good as well). There's a vegan alternative for absolutely everything.
molu ormolu you should really appreciate vegan food as is instead of trying to mock meat.
molu ormolu Do you mean things like vegan cheese or meat substitutes? I try to avoid those but I do “veganise” recipes by leaving out the bad things or substituting better ingredients.

I'm a vegan and a bit butthurt (don't take me too seriously here)- you say an unbalanced vegan diet can cause deficiencies. duh, ANY unbalanced diet can lead to deficiencies. may it be paleo, keto or fast food (and I mean,... especially fast food). Even "normal" eaters can be deficient in many vitamins and minerals.
Whatever diet you eat try to KNOW what you eat, and take care of yourself.
I'm vegan for years and my blood is fine - I even had a b12 overload!
Comment on the 2000 cal on the vegan diet: I somehow eat way more and use way less oil. All dishes look somehow so little 😅 (my Asian self is looking here).
Have you run the meals through cronometer and looked whether you'd get both enough macro- AND micronutrients? That'd be interesting 🙌🏽
You follow the most unnatural diet out of the three listed here.
Serey Mao I was thinking the same thing!!
Maybe it's because being unbalanced in a vegan diet carries more risks. Most people who have regular omnivorous diets are lacking in things like fibre, but most people don't experience any serious health problems. If you're not following a vegan diet properly however the consequences could be more severe
Most people over complicate shit. Eat whole foods. Eat single ingredient foods (i.e. stay away from processed). Regulate how much you eat. Eat a variety of proteins, carbs, and fats. Bam! Healthy diet. This can work for everything from keto to vegan. Seriously. (I know some may say "but keto doesn't eat a variety of carbs" hahaha but they do! lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower are all types of carbs, just most of it indigestible so it doesn't add to a carb count, but they have more carbs than protein or fat!)
Yep.. any unbalanced diet can cause deficiencies... and balanced diets too ... my son eats plenty of high quality meat and yogurts and such and he still tests low on iron and b12... two things vegans are supposed to be deficient in
The "vegan diet" would more so be considered a plant-based diet, assuming it's purely for dietary reasons. Veganism is a lifestyle choice and a philosophy, not just a diet. There's more to it than just restricting animal byproducts for food consumption. Great video, regardless!
Hello, fellow bratz doll.
Hey, sis~~ 💕
> There's more to it than just restricting animal byproducts for food consumption.
Like what?
@@alterego157 Lmfao a lot...No leathers, furs, silks, or any other clothing items made from animals, common fabrics and other materials where there's a grey-area are usually fine tho. No cosmetics or other beauty products tested on animals or containing animal byproducts. That also restricts you from purchasing any of those items from China, because products used on the skin are 9/10 times tested on animals due to regulations. Pretty much every aspect of your life is affected, but it's reasonably adapted to your lifestyle, obviously. Medications and other necessary items where you can't avoid it are always permitted. It really depends on the person and what is reasonable for them and their lifestyle/needs, but it's MUCH more than just food. It's an entire lifestyle change.
Nicky C, so you hate animals and want nothing to do with them?
You really are saving lives today I was worried on what I should eat today thank you so much 😭❤️
ALSO I LOVE how this was demonstrative and informative and it still somehow seemed like a person was there
That was nice of him to point out the deficiencies on the vegan diet and to keep harping on it. Meanwhile doesn’t go into the cardiovascular issues you’ll have eating all that butter and meat. I take a vitamin B12 once a week. I also take a daily vitamin D currently because I live in the Midwest where it’s too cold to just hang outside to get my daily sunlight.
Is just eating fortified foods ok?
There's no link between animal fats and cardiovascular disease.
Mostly vegetarian - I find it's cheaper to eat that way.
Its really weird how people forgot that we exist

Anjuli Patil there was a time when it was the vegetarians people laughed at. Now, no one cares, it’s the vegans that people are laughing at.
Faizan A where do you live? I’m from the Netherlands, and I can cook a vegetarian meal for 4 people for €3. A bit biased in the vegan part (it's not as dangerous or difficult as you make it sound), but otherwise great video.
I would have been more accurate to call it "plant-based" though. Vegan always refers to the moral standpoint.
But plant based doesn't completely preclude meat or animal products. My diet is plant based. I had an egg on my salad yesterday.
Egg is not a plant. And yes, a 100% plant based diet completely precludes anything taken from a animal.
Ask yourself, is it animal, vegetable or mineral?
@@TraceyMush Plant-based isn't necessarily 100% plants. The nutritionists I've been to for health reasons say that a diet that consists of at least 75-80% plants can be considered plant-based.
Just like animals like deers and gorillas are still considered herbivores even though they do eat meat (I've seen deers eat birds fallen from their nests, and friends living in the country confirmed that deers do eat other small animals; scientists have found traces of other animals' DNA in gorilla's feces). Monkeys and apes often eat insects or other monkeys but are still generally considered frugivores.
I'm from Italy and there the term plant-based doesn't exist. If you eat 0 animal products, you're considered vegan, even if it's just a dietary choice and not an ethical choice.
l guess everyone can just make their own definitions for everything, lol.
Funny that there was no disclaimer on the other diets about b12 deficiency! Many people who aren't vegan/plant-based are b12 deficient or deficient in other essential nutrients.
Thanks for this, I now think a balanced diet is the best, incorporating a bit of everything !
Thanks for video

Keto and Atkins are not the same, similar in some ways but def not the same. I’m a month into a Keto way of eating and loving it
right paleo is more similar to keto than atkins.
Historical anthropologists have thoroughly debunked the legitimacy of "paleo."
It's just a stupid fad diet. I guess it could be healthy if you're doing it to stay away from processed foods but you could do that on any healthy diet, really. Other than that it does nothing for losing weight, gaining muscle or feeling healthy.
but it helps people who are allergic to gluten or have food allergies related to wheat
Paleo isn't a "diet" per se. It is not about losing weight, it's about being healthy, and not eating processed food. It's best for people with food allergies.
Anyone who TRULY believes that this way of eating exactly matches food from the paleolithic era is clearly smoking something.
Lmao by the same logic vegan is impossible. Why would a diet never possible during our evolution be the healthiest? Vegans are too malnourished to think it through...
I feel like at least the body composition part is legit but youd have to be SUPER accurate (for example, only roasting meat via open fire). There is a whole study regarding why people with receded jaws are becoming common (same with why we even have wisdom tooth) and it has to do with how our diet changing into softer food consumption via cooking led to our jaws getting smaller hence why we get crooked teeth and receded jaws. Or you're just a mouth breather.
Iirc there was evidence shown comparing "third world" groups who've stuck to eating traditional food compared to modern food and the traditional people tend to have straighter teeth and stronger jaws, even though they had no dental history
Keto is only referred to the Atkins diet by people who don't know what it is.
