This is an excellent video. No distracting music. Focus on common problems. Clear concise explanation great camera work. Not too long. 10 out of 10 Many thanks. It is greatly appreciated.
This is so helpful, thank you so much for sharing such clear instructions! I'm sewing a lined circle skirt with a yoke waistband, and nobody else seems to actually show how to sew the zipper between the main fabric and the lining.
Just ordered a hidden zipper foot for my sewing machine. I didn’t even know there was such a thing before watching this video! Thank you! Hoping my next “invisible zip” will live up to it’s name! 😂
Wow , ! So very glad to have watched your video . The method of folding the top zipper tape is so helpful. I have always been fearful of installing concealed zipper to a lined bodice . Thank you so much .
This is a brilliant video, thank you. So many patterns tell you to see the zip to the main fabric and lining - I think this approach has a more couture finish.
I’ve watched this video several times and it’s been immensely helpful! I do kinda wish you’d redo the video as the quality isn’t so good and it’s a bit hard to see what exactly you’re doing with these white fabrics but the tips are spot on!
Very useful video. I noticed your dress was only lined up to waistline and the bottom was unlined. If it was fully lined would you still have a seam at waistline for the lining?
For the most part it is. The top part is different (you fold the top part down and stitch it so it is fixed) and of course you are not to stitch so close to the zipper teeth.
Thanks that was useful, but I didn’t feel you covered why the top can get bumpy, you mentioned it in your intro but didn’t say what resolves it? This is something that I constantly get and cannot resolve what I do wrong
Do you mean: bumpy around the zipper? That is (usually) because the machine processes the fabric (bottom layer) faster than the zipper (top layer). The solution is to pin the zipper to the fabric well.
@@straightgrain1012 no it’s at the top when you add your lining, i always get the issue where the fabric doesn’t lay flat anymore and creates a bump where when wore the dress sits away from the body at the centre back
Thank you for your question. All the instructions are included in the Tinny pattern, which is available in a paper and a pdf version, in 4 different languages.

Thank you so much for this! Question: what if your lining goes down all the way to the end of the skirt?
Then it is a bit trickier. I should probably make a separate tutorial for it because it is hard to explain from the top of my head 🤔
Very useful video. I noticed your dress was only lined up to waistline and the bottom was unlined. If it was fully lined would you still have a seam at waistline for the lining?

Great video ! Thank you ! 🥰 What type of sewing machine do you have? 😊
Thanks! It's Bernina 340. Happy with it - though my 25-year-old Pfaff was better.
@@straightgrain1012 thank you for your answear! 🥰🤗
Can you add more videos on cutting and inserting the lining in dresses, skirts, coats?
I will if I have the time! ❤️
Just subscribed! This was very helpful... thanks!
Is the process the same with a regular zipper (instead of an invisible zipper)?
For the most part it is. The top part is different (you fold the top part down and stitch it so it is fixed) and of course you are not to stitch so close to the zipper teeth.

Good tutorial. Where did you buy your fabric
Thanks! I bought it in a Belgian shop a long time ago. But you can find it in online shops - just google "fuccra rakuen" ;-)
Ok. Thank you
Question : what if the dress have no hidden zipper or any zipper at all, can I add an invisible zipper to it?
Do you mean an existing dress with no zipper, or a dress pattern with no zipper?
Good idea ❤
I loved it thanks alot
So happy to hear that ❤️

Thanks mam
Plz help me
Your hand is hiding it, I really need to learn how to sew it on
You actually explain alot.
Why would anybody sew an invisible zipper shown it's called an invisible zipper.
Exactly! I think not everyone knows that the needle should be moved close to the zipper teeth.
At the end of step 2, your hand is hiding what you are doing
