I was going to sign up to Ump baseball this year and I decided not to after 10 years. I'm sick and tired of the abuse. I get it I made a bad call here or there. We're all human. But these people act like I have some sort of vendetta against them and their child. Look sometimes I'm umpire for 5 games a day. I started at 7 am and my last game is at 6. We are going to make mistakes. These children are hear to learn the game and learn how to lose. These entitled parents are just making things unbearable.
What kind of empty lives must these people lead that they can become so 'engaged' in the outcome of a kids' soccer game. Pitiful.
Those that pay $2,000 a season for club soccer.
@@robertburch3813 I truly feel sorry for anyone willing to embarrass themself or their child over $2,000…
@Larry Capoya your kid will go pro being a goober
End the game IMMEDIATELY when a parent behaves like a THUG. It's not worth the risk of injury to referees, players, and other parents. Then have a disciplinary review of the incident that hopefully results in the offending parent BANNED from all future games.
I totally agree. Parents started chirping at me this past weekend. Went straight to the coach and she went to her sideline and gave them a behave lecture. If that wouldn't have solved it next step call the game.
uppity side gets a forfeit. Why should the other team be dinged? Ban the parent.
But what do you do when a referee acts like an authoritarian tyrant? Are parents just supposed to sit there and shut up? Are parents not supposed to act like their children are playing in a competitive sporting event? Toughen up buttercup
Agreed 100%, no room or reason to act like that in front of the kids. They are the ones who are watching carefully
Plus it puts the blame on HIM
That’s why these sporting events should ban parents!
Would be interesting setup
Officials should never get in a shouting match with anyone--it just makes things worse and this parent needed to go for sure.
children are the reflection of their parents
Parents simply ruin this game for kids.
Out of control parents, and they wonder why there is an officials shortage
Yup parents suck!!! I'm a parent, a coach, and a ref.
Parents are wrong but the Ref needs to learn to stop shouting back at someone walking away. It's not a pissing contest. Keep shouting back and it never stops.
Yep, dont give oxygen and the fire will go out.
More refs need to call the game in favor of the team who's parents aren't assholes.
A ref hasn't earned his bones until he tosses every parent on one team's sideline. I'm still proud of that.
These people need to be banned from attending sporting events. Obviously they don't know how to behave. It's just disgusting.
wow crazy, its a kids game...parents like that need to stay home and let the kids play and have fun
Parents:stay home.
Just drop them off and come over after the game and pick 'em up.
Stay home!!!!
Go shopping do something!!!
Yep, I agree. Go play pickleball or something.
so your solution is to drop your kids off for someone else to watch them while you go out and have a good time. That seems really supportive. What would happen if your child gets hurt? Someone has to try to get in contact with you and notify you of YOUR child's injury. That sounds like some great advice.
These parents have no lives
Their life is coddling their children
The reason they lose so many referees every year. The league should ban that parent though where I live they do absolutely nothing.
@Larry Capoya Hey man, if you want to get into a physical altercation with a referee and have a criminal record because of it, go for it.
Every parent should have to referee one kids game and not their own kids game just so they can feel the wrath of Parents being pissed off at you, and then every single parent will sit there quietly and keep their mouth shut
The pay to play model coupled with entitlement = Dysfunctional parents, players and coaches
This Ref. Is not to mes with! Shooting cards left & right!😄
I know!! SO SCARY!!!
He’s yelling because he’s sick of this BS
He should red card the parent's kid.
Parents like this have lost their minds they forget the kids are present. They act as if their children are playing sports to pay the mortgage. INSANE🥺
I support the referee. Parents need to chill. It’s a freaking game; their children aren’t being sent off to war. Calm down, parents! 😅😅
If the parent is so on about the ref reading the rule book than he must know all about the rules then
I would be so embarrassed that was my dad
Now do you see why there's a referee shortage
Great role models being displayed by all the karens watching and spoiling this game
It was like that here 40 years ago and the fields had a net to separate the bench from the field. But then they started to be arrested and banned from watching the games, everything changed. Also the school and education has improved a lot. Today there are no nets or anything separating spectators from players.
I must be confused! I thought in youth sports the children were on the field!
mexican, central american and south american people are all like this at these games. yell, fight make scenes, refuse to allow the last word fusal to capitulae towin or die arguling.
That man shouldn't be allowed at any game. They should have called the cops. He set a horrible example for the children.
Irony is the background is Sac County court house
dude ISNT that bad
Doubtful there was anything to call the cops about. He left the field, so trespassing is likely off the table. Not against the law to be an asshole. Ref should have just called the game.
Competition, Skill building, and Fun. Not in my experience. All about someone’s kid, referees get pounded, refs are blamed for losses.
Happens way too often. Coach, parent, spectator always acting out of line. Especially with youth officials, maybe they do have one bad call and a parent yelling at them only gets them more nervous and can lead to even more bad calls or hesitation. Been reffing soccer for 8 years never been assaulted but yelled at. Guess you just gotta learn to take the heat but you also gotta know when to get coaches involved to handle there crowd or end the game and get outta there. Just this weekend I had a guy come on to the field talking about it was the time for there game to start. However, I’ll admit we were behind schedule (about 7 minutes ). This total NPC just is shouting showing the time on his phone and steps onto the field. As if we were going to stop the game just for him. Thankfully the home team had a team manager that stepped in and threatened to call the police on him. One of the coaches even flipped out on me to get him out because he couldn’t coach. I was just thinking like what the fuck am I suppose to do I’m not risking getting punch, unbelievable. It’s sad to see so many games come around each weekend without full crews.
Both the parent and ref not realizing people aren't there to watch them.
The coach saw the parent being ejected for running his mouth and decided to make bad praxis.
Man, when a soccer ref pulls out of a Red Card it's always SOOOOO SCARY!
You look like the guy that was sent out of the game... Were you?
@@regularassyoutube2581 Do you look like your pfp?
What’s more scary is the letter of notice you’d get from an attorney for threatening a match official.
Never ever ever be a referee for kid's sports with parents in attendance. You will regret every second of it.
Never ever ever take SteelCom's advice on anything. You will regret it every time.
I have been officiating for 20 years, and have never had anything more than a couple minor incidents that were easily handled. My son is 15 and is now officiating.
You have to learn to take criticism but you don’t have to take abuse. You will screw up but at the end of the day, if you pay attention and give it your 100% you will be rewarded. I made $700 cash this week and I am in the best shape of my life. I work a regular 9-5 and do this on the side. It does not even feel like working getting paid $40 an hour to run and exercise. I introduced a co worker to this for side money and in 1 year he saved up $10,000 all cash. It was pretty impressive. Life changing for him. You have to stay healthy and keep an open mind to people who you should be taking advice from.
Refs job IS to throw out parents like him
It’s not his job to throw parents out, he’s meant to tell the coach to control his fans if not abandon game, referees should NEVER get involved with fans, just leads to escalation
@@jameshills778 most these kids won’t ever make it to college level
It’s not that serious
I don’t quite know what to make of all this, it’s very common, we’re used to the pushy parent syndrome in the UK but don’t think it’s got quite this bad! Most folk who step over the line usually find plenty of others who will step in and assist. But as I said, I don’t think it often gets this bad in the UK!
The kids😂 what a joke
I take it he's not swearing by the moon and the stars in the sky!
Refereeing soccer games ain't easy that ref did his job completely right
The ref shouldn't have gotten into a shouting match with this parent
Some of this is the referee's fault for interacting with those knuckleheads.
Parent was insane. I am curious, though. Would sure like to see what got him so worked up, because this ref seemed to be enjoying the commotion since he let it go and go and go.
The ref constantly saying bye would be enough to send me over the edge
This kind of stuff puts your kids off playing sports
SOMEONE TOOK THE JAB ..
Usual suspects
Bad stuff all around, unfortunately.
I didn't see any one get rushed tho
Granite Regional Park?
The parent and coach created an "incident", but the referee created a "spectacle."
Center ref lost his composure. With a freak parent like this, give an instruction, set out the consequences for not complying, then follow through. "Keep it up, buddy" helps no one. He needs to mentor with another more experienced official to learn some strategies for handling morons like this parent.
Its Soccer... Calm down
The one thing these videos need is the performance of the refs before the parents went nuts. As a parent who has yelled at a ref a time or two, I tend to only say something if I don't agree with the call. The sports that my kids played and now my grandkids play I am very familiar with the rules. I also understand that the refs cannot see everything that is going on, I expect that they will be consistant in what they call. If you are not going to call something a penalty for something in the first quarter don't start calling it in the fourth quarter. Just be consistant. Also, if the comments from the parents are not of a personal nature, ignore them. You are supposed to be paying attention to what is going on during the game more than paying attention to the crowd. In watching the entirety of this video, once the ref ejected this parent for his personal comments, he should have gone back to the game and continuted the game and not engaged with the parent further. The ref got mad so he wanted to show who was in charge and completely forgot about the game
Tldr
You must be a joy to be around at games
That ref seemed to be looking for trouble.
Soccer?! It's football ffs 🙄
Ok but the referee went on a bit of a power trip too. Made it about himself getting disrespected rather than ignoring and letting kids continue to play
I got my popcorn ready...
