What a standup parent. Wouldn't let his kid just play the game and instead got their coach reprimanded, the possibility of their team being expelled for the entire season, and now is looking at criminal charges. You really showed your son how to be a responsible adult.

@@BlankonPurpose-d3x the opening active term was "should have". He should have been surrendered to police in damaged condition after being forcibly restrained by every other able-bodied adult male in attendence. He should have been charged with a felony, since the possibility of potentially crippling and/or lethal brain or neck injury is always present when an unpadded, unprotected, and unprepared individual is knocked or thrown to the ground, especially from behind at speed.
He should have gotten at least a year in prison so he truly understands how friggin' stupid he is. He should have been sentenced to 10 years, by rights.
The kids should be banned from the game as well, seeing as he tried to physically attack the much smaller referee over a foul call his behaviour indicates he was clearly guilty of, having to be held back by his teammates, and also just had to chirp some trash at a now concussed referee lying on the ground while the punk's dad stood over him after blindsiding a guy half his size. His teammates should be furious at him for what he and his father have done to their tournament hopes. His schoolmates should be furious at him for the shame he brings upon them. His collegiate aspirations should be dust in the passing wind.
All of that should have happened. It did not. All of that could have happened, but someone in authority chose not to do their job. All of that would have happened had someone in authority done their job properly.

Last tournament I was at, the police were called 3 times over that weekend for parents chasing referees off the field and following them to their cars. The crazy thing is that when you watch the game, the refs calls have nothing to do with why they lost.

A Sacramento man has been sentenced to jail for tackling a linesman during a junior football game.
Vicente Robles Jr, 35, pleaded no contest in October to a misdemeanour charge of battery against a sports official after he became violent when he disagreed with a call made by the match official.
Judge Steven Howell sentenced Robles to 30 days in jail earlier this week and one year of formal probation for the attack in Rosewood, California.

Umm, I don't think so. Illegal guns maybe. And illegal border crossings. Did you see the kid being held back by his teammate in that video? That was probably the kid who got in the face of the ref in the first place and who the ref then ultimately pushed away. And I'm sure the ref didn't shove the kid as hard as he could. He probably extended his arm to create some distance because he knows he isn't even allowed to breathe on a kid in 2023 and that's the best he could do and the Dad STILL lost his mind. Couldn't really see the Dad too well, but did the kid really look like a corn-fed redneck to you? He didn't to me. I know I've said this already but I'm breaking this down as much as I can and speaking as slowly as possible because that's the speed your mind apparently works at: slow. So, once again, I couldn't really make out the features of the Dad, but if the Son and the Dad look anything alike, and I'm betting they do since that's how Father's and sons work, and the Son doesn't exactly look like an Irishman, I'm betting the Dad doesn't look like an Irishman either. I will say that they don't look like the people ESPECIALLY known for this type of bad behavior, but this was filmed in California. The kid looked middle-eastern or, more likely, Latino. Use some common sense. I know I said it's California, but it probably wasn't The Beverly Hillbillies who did this to that ref. Do you get it now? I hope so. Don't make me say all that again.
