I've listened to it at least 4 or 5 times a month since 1963!
Me..i'm still listening to it..it reminded me of my youth..so beautiful..
I spent, literally, my lunch hours home from primary school listening to this song on a 45 record and I was there when the Ronettes opened along with the Mamas and the Papas at Maple Leaf Gardens for the Beatles' first Canadian performance. I made it to the stage edge at that event and gave my school ring -- paid for in instalments over my parttime summer job -- to John Lennon. He was wearing it in the next day edition photo of the Toronto Star report. After the concert we had managed to get into the King Eddy hotel room that the Beatles were booked into and I took a piece of partially eaten toast from the room service cart. After hoarding it in the back of the freezer for months I lost it when my mother discovered it and threw it out. Oh, such a tranche of memories; would that I could go back to that precious time and spend the rest of eternity there.
I'm here listening on 1.9.22, this music is iconic and will never be topped by anyone.... 😁
@@mattwestby1169 Thank you, Matt Westby, for including the clip in your post. I listened to it again and from there to the Animals' House of the Rising Sun. I was at Maple Leaf Gardens when the Ronettes and then the Mamas and the Papas opened for the Beatles' first performance in Toronto. How so much I wish I could go back to those beautiful days of innocence, wonder and talent. Stay safe.
The best song of the Sixties.
What a beautiful lady, and crazy that she was used and abused during the filming and production of these things i once loved
There is nothing in this song that possibly could be done better.
No Truer words have ever been spoken.......
I believe the greatest rock and roll song ever. Perfection
Andy Kim also did a cover of this song and it sounds great, though it doesn't surpass the Ronettes version.
they're all beautiful with the same crazy hair. I'd love to see some young girls dare to start wearing that style.

These young and beautiful artists didn't have to cartwheel around the stage half naked and howling without a note in their head, these were the real thing, talented and professional with the sound and music in their souls. Oh for the music of the 60s
Just exactly what I thought while listening to this awsome song.
Boy oh boy have you got that right. ♥
They didn't have to, but their very sexy for the time presentation didn't hurt their awesome talent, with the sound and music in their souls and certainly their voices.
Now how many times have you seen that happen? Be honest. If it ever happened, it was damned infrequent. Something like an urban legend. Meanwhile, why can you not enjoy this extraordinary song by extraordinary singers without making invidious comparisons? It stands quite tall on its own.
So so true , truly beautiful singers

I am a proud “baby boomer” and I grew up listening to all of the great music of the 50’s and 60’s.
My mom turned on American Bandstand every Saturday and taught me the all the latest dances. I really miss having the great music and performers that
gave us a glimpse into the various cultural differences that brought us all together with just great voices and great music. No screaming, bad language, or risqué clothing. Just great rock and roll and soul that was just amazing fun. I miss it!! ❤
You hit the nail on the head, I could not have stated it any better.

This song is 56 years old...only something so good and really special can live through the years...The Ronettes forever !!!
At the time, the Ronettes were the hottest girl group on the planet. Well deserved status. But my favourite of theirs is Walking in the Rain.
Well that means I was 6 years old at the time. I lived at LeMoore Naval Air Station. My Dad played the radio in the carport while he worked on his pickup truck. He taught me how to wrench. That's why I'm so damn good at mechanics, and why I love good music.
That means that some of them May be 90 yrs old.!!

I am the same age as this song!!!!!!!! One of my all time faves!!!!!!!!!!! XOOXXOXOXO
Who knew women could sing so darn great and look fantastic, while fully dressed ? These women are tremendously talented. ❣️

If you're listening to this in 2020 spare a thought or a prayer for Estelle

She had suffered years of mental illness and was homeless on the streets of
NY at one time . Her body lay undiscovered for a week .
Life is unbearably cruel sometimes.
Because of your comment, I read a New York Times article about her. It was very sad. Apparently, she was quiet, sensitive and fragile and struggled with mental illness for many years. Yes, life can be very, very hard for people like that.

43 million hits. Thats how good the old songs were.
Arguably one of the greatest pop songs of all time.An everlasting classic hit.
Just like Brian Wilson said: "Once you hear this song, you're a fan for life." As a bassist I’m, well…”down there”…where the lowest of all harmonic properties lay. Down here…is only one other element: the drum. All can say next is that Hal Blaine is AS IMPORTANT a contributor to this pop masterpiece than the Spector’s themselves. His urgent drum part here moves the song right along at such a clip that you don’t even realize what it is that so incredibly awesome about it until you simply dig a little deeper into the engine room. Like I said…I’ve been deemed to this area since my birth. I can’t ever get out! I’m cursed!😂
luv basses just like Brian said
