Just like any other apex predator with a healthy population, bears need to be managed. There are a ton of bears in the world and in many areas, they actually cause a lot of harm to the deer and moose populations. That and bear meat is very good.

If you don’t see what a waste it is killing an animal that fought, survived and earned its way to be THE apex predator just so a small guy with a bow or gun can kill it for a rug and a good memory. 900 pounds of bear meat. I was worried that guy was going to try a frontal shot. As soon as the bear turned he let it go. If that bear went after him immediately, there is no way he could get another arrow in him before he got scredded .

It would be hard for to just take aim and kill that big beautiful beast, just for the sport of it, I couldn't do it! On the other hand if was hunting me and attacking me, then I would have no problem ending its life. But just to kill for the sake of killing works against me! This is just me though!

No.. that is real hunting at its finest. Very very few people get the opportunity and can do this. Sure, lots of people bow hunt, very few bow hunt giant grizzlies and are successful.
