I'd imagine Michael and Alan just weren't available for some reason (but Gary just didn't want to say that) and Sid couldn't do any other time either (& they want to keep the output up) - they've been swearing all through this, and the last one didn't seem any more expletive-ridden than any of the others.

Exactly specially for his country, all God level unmatched shit he did at club level but still people used to question him why didn't he produce a wc performance like 86 and win for Argentina. Like dude, every one career is different, it's like asking maradona why didn't he score 91 goals for any club napoli, barca, boca. It was very unfair & he was underappreciated in terms of national sucess before 2021,like playing 4 final was seen as failure😢😅😅

Are such successes due to the fact that English players go abroad early, and play first team gamea? Many non-english players are already top players by 21-23 yrs old, when they get into EPL, and many of them are players who left their country early.

I really like both of them. And I truly understand Eurocentrism from both truly traditional and historical countries. Yet none of them even slightly guess that is precisely the exposure to Brazilian and Argentinian footballers and coaches from a very early period what shifted and transformed the style of play both in Italy and Spain and later both introduced their own more physical oriented version of those attacking and possession football brands with also the very pragmatic even cynical approaches of fellas like Helenio Herrera. Also truly major geniuses and phenomenal players transform even the prototype of what a top footballer can be. Look at how France has shifted due to the introduction of phenomenal African origin players in their League and later NT. But I guess once an Empire even the finest if lads like these two very likeable dudes cannot even phantom the idea of such a huge influence in primarily the Italian and Spanish league.

Tackling will always be a part of football, I don't know if Alonso was referring to the tackling being more of a last resort rather than a focus of a player with intelligent positional play and tactical nous reducing the need to tackle. Like a lot of aspects of life, some elements work in cycles. I wonder if the tough tackling midfielder will ever return or whether the modern methods of officiating and tactical setup has well and truly consigned them to the history books. Admittedly the frequency, intensity and even technique of tackling has changed in recent years. Like Gary suggested tactical fouling is more prevalent in our game now which has filtered through from the Continent.

England are trying their best to put as much pressure on Bellingham as possible as the do with all their good youngsters...best thing he ever done was getting out of England

Love Gary but it needs Micah and shearer also the swearing makes it feel more authentic, look at you’re target audience ffs. No one wants another bbc show where everytbing has to be 100% correct and proper

      It's a joke 😆
All of the "Rest of" podcasts allow swearing. It's Gary's own company 🤷

Literally nobody cares about them swearing lmao you’re the part of society that’s too dumb to understand jokes and cries about everyone else being offended
