I ordered this to net the algae in a large pond in our backyard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxphFK7ETiDP5G4IGsNcg7vbASDp_YfDpI The net is very sturdy and easy to maneuver in the water. The angled edges make it easier to get into the smaller spaces among the rocks. I didn't realize that the front of the net doesn't actually have a frame to it, just the sides do, but it seems to work just fine. The handle extends to various sizes, which is a great feature when I'm in areas that are tight with shrubs at the edges of the pond. I can collapse the handle so it doesn't get stuck in the bushes.
Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.
Thanks for the video. As a hobbyist in general I understand why some people would say its arrogant to say you only need these two knots, but they need to remember how the "more experienced" crowd tends to complicate things for beginners. Good introduction, thanks again!
While these knots are probably good I would not call them the best. I've been using the palmer knot the past year and I couldn't imagine a knot better.
Palomar knot is my go to if I'm fishing with braided line. I remember when spiderwire first became popular years back that's what they advised at the time. Not sure if that's changed or not.
This knot has decided to fail on me twice on a big fish recently has done me well for years but... Hence why I'm watching other knot vids. Tried his first and it slips, I think he either misses a stage or it being rope doesn't slip. Also doing it a line attached as it's obviously easier when the line is free and is not showing the true method
The video instructions are very simple and easy to follow. The video is very clear, although I had to pause it at times as I was practicing the knots. I practiced a couple of times while watching and got it without any hassle. Nice job!
THANK YOU!!!! Having 7 GREAT Nephews lol this helps me to teach them survival skills which isnt easy to do. You made it look easy enough that they got it on the first or second try!!!!
Doing the same here buddy! I had a spinal injury and was out of almost any activity for 12 years, just recently got in a boat after 16 years. I think the love of fishing and boating saved my life, the thought about possibly getting to walk again or go fishing again was my goal.
Personally, I prefer the Palomar know most of the time because it’s easy to tie in the wind on a boat or wading but I need to learn a good loop knot and this is the best tutorial I’ve seen. Thanks, captain.
@@YouTh3r3 Well, it wasn't the kids, it was the career required to afford the kids. I regret failing to make fishing a priority as they grew up. Hopefully be able to correct that with some of the as adults, and with the grandkids (three boys already).
Thanks for the video, its been roughly 18 years since I lasted casted a line or tying a hook on a line so I figured I better look at a video to see how to do it correctly.
My favourite 3 knots palomer. Clinch. And uni knot. And for joining two lines it's the albright knot 👍👍👍 but that's me personally. Tight lines everyone.
Finally a clear easy video without fingers in the way, or too fast. I watched a few other videos and just sat dumbfounded lol..I got yours on first try...awesome.
Worth mentioning that the uniknot needs more loops on a braided line partially because it's smaller, but also because it's braided nature means you might not have every part of the line getting grabbed by the loops at once. After all as a fisherman it's important to understand that the reason these knots work in the first place is because they increase the friction between the lines to a point where you need more force than the line can handle in order for the knot to break.
FREAKIN' BEAUTIFUL!!!! Exactly what I wanted to know!!...and a great visual too!! I've lost count of how many doggon' times I've watched a video and the guy's hands are in the way the whole time. BEAUTIFUL!! THANX MUCH!!
im a scottish woman and ready to teach myself to fish, this is easier to learn than reading out my fishing book thanks ready to teach myself how to become self sufficient
To get maximum strength out of the uni knot make sure to not pull too tightly on the tag end before moving the knot down to the eye. Just pull a little move it down, pull a little more on the tag, and then finally pull tight on the standing line but only when the knot is directly above the eye. This avoids all degradation of your line/tippet caused by cinching too hard on the tag at first and then pulling the standing line to lower the knot down. It adds more time to the knot but it will guarantee that your line/tippet will break before the knot. Test it out.

Works perfectly for 0,3mm thin line. Thanx for sharing!

The Unit knot-it's brilliant. I have been converted to it this year. :-) Yours is the best and quickest demo. :-)
Universal uni
Your passion for gardening is truly inspiring. 🌟
Hard to find a short, simple tutorial on this basic skill. Cheers mate!
The uniknot is great. Thanks for the short and to the point video
I like the Palomar Knot. Quick and strong.
Paloma knot isn’t bad but when I fish for big red fish and use it I feel it always breaks unlike the uni
@@artofhope9809thanks. Good to know. I'm going to give the Uni a try. I've seen several good videos on it.

Anthony Sharp If it is slipping add more turns.
Cool. Now my lure is properly tied. If I lose it at least it won't be the knot. Today I'll make my first cast in 40 years.
Did you catch anything
Thank you, these knots simplify my fishing time
Thanks bro, I'm just starting to catch fish and learning new knots.
Very good.

Thanks! New to fishing and this helped me out!!!
You are the only youtuber who can teach me how to do this THANKS
Thank you. This made my fishing easier.
“this is the hardest part of the knot” doesn’t show how to actually make the loop.
Yeah he did.
OverlyAwesome THANK YOU
While im always worried not to get hooked while tying the knot lol
Exactly what i thought
Samuel Bulletproof He wants him to come over to his house and do it for him.
Thanks much for the vid. I saw another demonstration of the Uni knot that was not as easy to follow as this one.
This helped me ALOT. you should make a weather video for people that are not very good at knowing the good weather and temp for fishing.
Great video and very good desmonstaration. Thank you!
This is going to be my favourite knots too 😍😃 Thank you very much for sharing. 😍😍

Nice instructional video.
Thank Joe. The uni-knot will forever be a great knot for all levels of fisherman.
