Rizzuto knot to finish..I use it to finish FG knot, works great. Next video can we see how you attach your leaders to that please. Love the videos learn plenty watching them
This is a great clean knot. About 25 years ago Lefty Kreh, a famous fly fisherman showed me how to whip finish the bimini knot just like this. Been using it ever since!
I was just thinking, “I haven’t seen a vid from Mike in a while”; BAM, here you are! I learned something new today as well, 45 wraps on braid, I have been under wrapping and going to correct that one TOMORROW! Ruzzuto finish, as you have discussed so many times. Thanks for all the education you have provided me.
Mike, very nice technique. Yet in the grand scheme one must always consider the weakest link. To that end, I'd like to see you make a video on the uses of the Bimini twist. I searched the tube for such a video and found nothing. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Great video, but would love to see how you use that Bimini twist. How do you attach to a leader? What if you put a bimini twist on braid? How would you then attach to mono? Thanks!
I know it's 2 years later but the original name of your finishing knot is a whipping knot. It was used to keep fiber ropes from fraying and unraveling on the ends. We also use a whipping knot when making and serving bow strings. Its a very clever way to end a wrapping knot and ensure the end will not pull out.
Just found your channel and really enjoying it. I have inshore fished forever and now diving into saltwater. The Bimini is a name that is mentioned in fishing for as long as I can remember reading outdoor mags and before RUclips. Here is my stupid question. Everyone shows tieing the ready to use knot. But then what? How are we attaching the leader? Is there a specific follow up to this knot? Is it a knot that is easy to have ready on each rod for changing tactics and baits? Thanks.
Rizzoto knot to finish, I've seen every one of your videos on knots multiple times! Keep them in my library so I can find them when I need it! Thanks for another great video capt Mike! Tight lines!
Hi Capt. Mike - Can you please make a video on what to attache to a Bimini? How to do it? Knots, hardware,, etc?? I'm looking to be able to do quick changovers from one leader to another while using a Bimini Twist, depending on what I'm fishing for. Can you please do one of these videos?
This video proved helpful to me. It took about a half dozen attempts, but I managed to tie the Bimini knot with 40 lb mono. Do you recommend the GT knot or the Bristol to join the main line to a 100 lb mono leader?
Good summation. I need to remain teachable, lol. Twisting the line instead of one wrapping around another is something I'll have to start doing. Most important point to a bimini is tight coils all the way thru. And looseness especially in start of coiling should be re-tied. Would like to see him do this on 80 lb off shore line
I use the Bimini twist for Mono/Fluoro, and the FG when braid is involved. For braid, I refuse to use anything else and for Mono/Fluoro, I will use nothing other than the Bimini. Anyway, 2 years late, but that is callled the Rizzuto Finish. I use it for both the Bimini and the FG.
I know how to tie the Bimini and have been doing it for at least a decade. However, for me, I prefer the Spyder hitch. It's stronger than the Bimini, and I have seen several online tests confirm that fact. Granted, it's not as sexy as the Bimini, but I think the Spyder hitch is a superior knot.
rizzuto finish knot, thanks a lot Captain Mike for sharing your experience with us, Happy Easter!!!

Great video, but would love to see how you use that Bimini twist. How do you attach to a leader? What if you put a bimini twist on braid? How would you then attach to mono? Thanks!
The finishing knot is the rizzuto knot. I remember reading saltwater sportsman magazines when I was a kid. I need to subscribe to them.

I'm looking to be able to do quick changovers from one leader to another while using a Bimini Twist, depending on what I'm fishing for. Can you please do one of these videos?
Great vid !!
Rizzuto to finish! Love it
Looks like a difficult method to do in rough seas. I'll have to stick to the FG for my line to leader connection.
This video proved helpful to me. It took about a half dozen attempts, but I managed to tie the Bimini knot with 40 lb mono. Do you recommend the GT knot or the Bristol to join the main line to a 100 lb mono leader?

I like the bristol knot also called "no name".
We call Rizzuto knot for the at end finishing knot
Great Instructional vid Mike. Seems like you are towards Miami, do you charter? Flyfishing at 8,000' in N. New Mexico.
So, this creates a thin barrel style knot for a loop to loop connection, like the welded loop ends on fly fishing line and leaders?
Rizzuto finish knot. 😉
Rissuto knot? Thanks for sharing 👍
Would you do less wraps with a higher lb mono?
Rizzuto finish - shirt please! 😊
The Rizzuto finish. That’s how I also finish a FG knot
Rizzuto finish.
I’ve only heard of it as a whip finish.
I need to see how you tie the leader to that line... can you directly catch a hook?
Is the finishing knot called a rizzuto knot? Happy Easter! 🐣
How do you tie your lead to the Bimini knot? Can you use a swivel and tie your leader to the swivel
With braided line first time tieing this knot it moves up... Should it or not move?
You need to do a close-up of locking that thing in. I couldn’t tell exactly what you were doing
So is a mystery on how to connect a leader to the bimini? Is it a loop to loop? 2 bimini's using a cats paw?
Bridge or whipping knot
greetings in turkey🇹🇷👍
Happy Easter
Surgeons knot!
What is the advantage of the bimini twist?
It’s a 100% strength loop knot that offer shock absorption. Great for tying leaders, swivels, etc
Rizzuto knot to finish
I tried to tie that knot the other day with some rope. I didnt do well, I think the rope was to big. One day I make it to florida to fish
Bridge knot/whipping knot
I use the Bimini twist for Mono/Fluoro, and the FG when braid is involved. For braid, I refuse to use anything else and for Mono/Fluoro, I will use nothing other than the Bimini.
