I usually see people tying the dropper loop but not adding the hook in the loop prior to the start of it. I like the way you did it. Thanks for improving my technique in tying this.

Nice job Dan, very clear instructions, I appreciate that.
Have you ever tried the twisted dropper loop? It makes the hook strand out more from your line.
Start just like you did but after putting the hook on twist the two tag ends in opposite directions. Then proceed like you finished the knot. Haven’t tried it yet. (Did stay at a holiday in express last night though.)A few times my dropper has twisted around the leader but maybe the dropper waste long.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice one
Very informative
Glad you think so!
looking to get the yellowtail on my list
Thank you
The sailfish behind you is awesome
yes it is, I really like it, i was a gift from the artist many years go.
I use the dropper loop all the time. I always put a B-52 on one of the loops.
That's a great way to rig it.
Thank you for showing me how to setup a rock cod rig. I am retired now and have time to learn to how catch fish. Any other tips is very valuable to me. Salt and fresh water.
Glad to help
I also like using drop shot for halibut.
BTW, I made a GoogleMaps page for Dan Hernandez Fishing Adventures, as I saw there wasn't a business page for your private charter
where can I see it?

I like your video,s But love the how to cook the the fish the best. Thank.s Dan.
Thanks for watching
Going for some big halis tomorrow!
I'm doing double dropper loops with bucktails on one rod and popcorn rig on other rod
Awesome
Thanks
Great stuff! Is there any real advantage to using T-knots with a dropper loop?
Awesome give aways
Thank you Dan for your video. I love it, so many helpful tips from you. Sorry for a stupid question. If you fish for a rockfish or scalpin and using bucktail. Do you have to put a bate on a hook or not. Sorry I am a new one. Just sarted.
You don't have to, but It does help.
So dope
Would love to join you on a trip!
Thanks for all the great content Dan. Do you ever tie your Dropper Loops as blanks, so you can change out hooks and sinkers easier?
That is a comman thing to do in surf fishing in the PNW. I also do it for fly fishing leaders.
Nice video
Thanks!
I hope to see all of you at the next fishing club meeting. I think I might get my wife to start volunteering too! When is the next time that the Live Scan will be done at the park? When is the next Kid's Fishing Derby, and where?
Do you prefer the spider winch knot or the dropper loop
opinion on the bimini? this way seems much easier to tie
When dropper loop fishin for YT, once the weight hits the bottom, do fish with the reel in gear (like i do for rockfish) OR do i put it in freespool w/clicker on and wait for the YT to take the bait and run before putting in gear to set the hook?
Tried tying it myself while rock fishing, the deck hand said I put the hook on backwards. He redid it by making the loop first then attaching the hook after. Which way is better
I always keep a few of every oz. Weight. Just in case of snags that break.
I have question Dan if you are using like two 2oz Bucktails or even one 6-8oz Bucktails do you also have to put sinkers? When do you need to use sinkers? Thx for time and help. I saw a video where u had two Bucktails but didn't see a sinker that's why I ask
if you are fishing in deep water then yes use a sinker, in shallow water I will use 6oz. bucktail on the bottom and 1oz. on the top.
For white Seabass would you use the reverse drop loop
No just for halibut would I do that.
Hey Dan ! Is this rig good for white seabass with buck tail ?
Yes it is.
What tackle stores sell your products like the bucktails??
What city are you in? Here's a link you can use to buy them from our website, sport-fishing.com/product/b-52-bucktail/
Me and my son would love to fish with you
Tie this but dont time on the hook, we just girth hitch it on. what is the advantage or disadvantage of my way?
What about using 3way swible?
that's a different rig.
Dan let’s go fishing #2020
When you use reverse dropper loop, is that only used with live bait?
Yes usually
@@dansportfishing will pieces of squid float on a reverse dropper loop?
would love to fish on your boat
Cool video, wish it were a little more close up

LETS GO FISHING
🤙
👍🏻
I have tied many dropper rigs and I can’t believe I never slipped the hook on the line first.
The dumbest way to do it because u can’t change hook size and u can’t. Undo hook to get untangled
