I think I know why Yorkie's are prone to tooth loss, especially if you have one that turns teeth brushing time into a wrestling match! Our pup is almost 8 months old and trying to brush her teeth is nearly impossible. Those tiny one in the very front are no problem but if someone has a trick on how to brush the ones WAY in the back, PLEASE let me know!!
Our Chihuahua is a MONSTER to try to brush his teeth!!! He needs it badly, we can see he has one maybe two cavities, and his breath is like a dumpster!!!
My big ol' Husky boy purses his lips shut as hard as he can and will not allow me to open his mouth. He's always been the same... it takes me a while to do his teeth, but they get done eventually. I'm definitely stealing your technique of shoving the toothbrush in the side of his mouth and doing it with his mouth and lips closed. Genuinely don't know how I've gone this long without even thinking of that idea, but I have a feeling this whole song and dance we do every time is about to get a lot easier. Cheers :D
If my German Shepherd sees a toothbrush, you can see all the muscles on the top of his head flex and his lips go completely tight. He goes full Winston Churchill and he’s prepared to fight to the bitter bloody end. Lol no way in hell I’m getting that bank vault of a mouth open.
My dog bites me and then moves on to just bearing his teeth and growling murder which works out for getting his back teeth done little does he know. I also do not know the solution. Let me know if you find one :)
@@mckennasweda3614 - Actually, I have since found that I can bathe my chihuahua by putting him in a harness and clipping him into 2 suction cups with tethers that I attach to the bathtub. I have to use a cage muzzle b/c he bit me with the muzzle that is open in the front. I bought the suction cups with tether from Amazon. It works b/c he is only 8 lbs but if your dog is bigger you will need stronger suction cups. He takes his allergy drops without a muzzle now, but I use the dental wipes with the open muzzle.
my dog would never bit me but he keeps shaking his head and closing his mouth. Like how tf am i supossed to brush his teeth 😭

There is some liquid that you cna put in their water instead and helps thr breath too. Look up Pet lab Co or Dr Pol dog drops for water

@@drattary9591 what a coincidence! I have a long haired Chihuahua mix but he's about 13 lbs. I will look into the suction cups.

I’ve watched many videos on dog cleaning teeth. Yours looks very cruel. You keep pulling the dogs hair around the mouth. Did not like your approach.
