Thank you for this excellent and very specific demonstration. Your explanations help me to understand not just the “how,” but also the “why.” I just found your channel today, and I am grateful! I played the 1, 2, 3 game earlier with Maggie, and she had fun and caught on unbelievably quickly. As a clinical psychologist, I especially appreciate your respect for agency and individual differences. I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned from you and to look forward to more of your training videos.
Hi Sara Could you make a video on hand shyness for dogs, I would really love to have some help with that for my own dog. He does not like being touched anywhere on his body including the head. I really would love to see a video with a dog experiencing this same problem. Thank you for this video as well it was great !!
Hi! Absolutely. I work with people on building in tolerance petting and cooperative care, especially for grooming or medical handling. I’ll try to get some video later this quarter and post a few of the ways I work through this.
Thank you for going so in depth! I pick my 3yo rescue up in six days. I really want to set us up for success and I have autism so showing clear example situations and real troubleshooting is invaluable for me to feel confident in my actions. I don’t know what she’ll be like yet so I’m trying to gather up knowledge about lots of different behaviours so I can help her in the best way possible and at the best of ny abilities. So cool to have such an experienced professional showing all this 😊
Wow! What brilliant, helpful video, thank you so much! I am awaiting the arrival of a new pup; I confess I never brushed my previous dog's teeth; I was very fortunate that she never had problems. I realize now how vital oral health is to a dog and want to begin this training/play activity from day 1. What a gorgeous pup you have! ❤
She mentioned that it is simply his kibble breakfast, he was hungry, so it was perfect timing. I was wondering the same thing, "that's a lot of treats", but it is essentially a meal.
this is so overwhelming!! we also have 2 small dogs. a chiweenie and a min pin. they are nearly feral. they also pay very close attention to each other so if treats come out they are both all over you and salivating aggressively. we don't get one on one. our min pin has only been chewing on one side and the other side is going bad. she will need about a thousand dollar dental cleaning with some extractions. so we can't skip brushing any more. they are learning to fight harder so we are going backwards. we need help!! is this possible with out treats?? thank you!!!!
If you have time make a video of hand feeding so my girlfriend can see it instead of me guiding her and we need it as soon as possible please and thank you
@@wolfspiritmom I give my dog a raw food diet as well, but my vet still suggested brushing every once in awhile. I was kind of surprised but on second luck, after brushing her teeth, even the first time, there is a lot of plaque gone that was there beforehand. I do have a chihuahua though, and they tend to be susceptible to dental issues.
Unfortunately, food - whether raw, kibble, or fresh - can get caught in between teeth and even cake on the back teeth at times so it’s always good to at least occasionally brush no matter what you feed for best oral care. Just as we floss and brush daily, no matter our meals for the day 😊
Yes! It’s still good to brush no matter the diet since any type of food can build up behind and between teeth. Chihuahuas can be tough with their oral health - similar to yorkies and other small breeds. Keep up the great work 🫶🏼

Thanks for an excellent dog teeth brushing video. What are the small white treats you are giving your dog?

Is it good if I mouth coverage hand feed my dog

What breed of dog? - kind of looks a little like our brand new Plot Hound - is yours a cattle dog?
My guess is that she is a Catahoula
She is gorgeous.
She’s a Beauceron 🥰
Good guess but she’s a Beauceron 😊
Thanks! She’s lucky she’s pretty because she’s a wild one 🤣

I feed my Grizz a raw diet and tooth brushing isn’t needed.
