Your instincts are spot on to question basically any product which claims to clean a dogs teeth. I bought some chews for my three dogs, never again.I was hoping the chews would help to clean my dog's teeth, I was wrong. They're made in Vietnam. I gave all three of my dogs chews approximately one hour later each one of my dogs vomited the remnants of whatever that stuff was it looked almost like plastic particles it "claimed it was chicken." It didn't look nothing like chicken at all. No I will not take that chance again of giving my dogs treats that claims it cleans the dog's teeth yet makes them sick. I now brush my dog's teeth with a pinch of baking soda and food grade cold pressed organic coconut oil.. if your dog happens to unfortunately have fleas I saturate the cold pressed food grade coconut oil on their back hip fur and on top of their head that's where most fleas congregate. I leave the coconut oil on their fur for almost one hour then I give them a bath. You can see how fast coconut oil will stop a flea by putting one drop of coconut oil on top of the flea within two to three seconds the flea is no longer a threat to your dog.
Loved your video. My little one too is averse to brushing too. She also has developed plaque and tartar. I've have recently discovered Tropiclean fresh breath gel that I apply on the gums . Please 1.. let me know if you this is a safe product to apply 2. Will it remove plaque and tartar effectively 3. Any good enzymatic toothpaste. you can recommend as I am based in India. Will be grateful for early response as very worried 😊
We in india normally give dogs rice daily. Carbo.. and milk too.. still they live 9- 14 yrs without any serious health issues.. what does carbohydrates do to dog?. How does it affect dogs health.
This came at the right time! I recently got the bark bright chews! Excited to see my pups dental health get better! Definitely have to incorporate brushing as well!
Hi there! Could you make a video explaining how to make homemade dog food? I want to make my dogs food at home but don’t know what ingredients/vitamins etc that are necessary to do so.
Is the pea protein listed in the ingredients something to be concerned of? I always get worried about seeing peas or legumes because I’ve heard they can be linked to DCM. Thanks!
I love your videos so much! I have an 8 month old Shiba inu and I brush his teeth twice a week, and he gets lots of dental chews to help keep his teeth clean. He loves getting his teeth brushed cause the toothpaste is beef flavored xD
Super super helpful! I’d love to hear more about rawhide just to gain knowledge. Thanks! Also I tried emailing to do a paid consult for advice on my dogs food. I didn’t hear back but no worries! I just want to know how can I go about scheduling that with you please? Thank you!
Oh no! I'm sorry you did not receive an email response. Sometimes emails have gotten lost in weird folders but we try to make sure everyone is accounted for. You can schedule a consultation directly from the "book now" page on my website.
@@TheTattooedDogTrainer thank you! I will definitely schedule that in the next week or so! Thanks for the other recommendations with raw bones🤗 love your nutrition advice always!
My dog will not let me brush I have been trying for over a year. I try to put enzymes toothpaste on my finger and she tolerates that a little better. She is almost three and has tarter and plaque I don't want to put her to sleep to get her teeth cleaned. Is wet food better for teeth rather than kibble? I try to give her stuff to chew on and bully sticks and more but she is a small dog and her teeth still not how I want them to look.
I needed this for my dog! Are the chews marketed as "dental chews" better for cleaning teeth than regular edible chews? It seems a little backwards to me that a lot of popular dental chews have things like potatoes and wheat as the first ingredient.
It really depends on your dog. If your dog is able to gnaw on the dental chew it can help scrape plaque and tartar, but most dogs crunch right through them. For my dogs I personally usually opt for bully sticks, dried tendons, raw bones, etc since those ones encourage my dogs to gnaw. Sponsorship aside, I do like the BARK dental kit more than other "dental chews" because they treat the chew itself more as a vehicle for the enzymatic toothpaste. The toothpaste will do the bulk of the work, but my dogs have yet to turn down a treat I hand to them.
@@TheTattooedDogTrainer Interesting... I definently need to get some enzymatic toothpaste! One more question: what do think about Himalayan Yak chews? I bought some recently thinking they would be a good natural chew, but they are way harder than I expected.
That's awful. Traumatic. Try and avoid general anaesthetic, small dogs are sensitive. Similar thing happened to me, a pain steroid injection hastened my dog's hidden kidney failure and she died 2 weeks later. I try and avoid the vet now
My dog is averse to brushing as well and has developed plaque and tartar. I did some Google and came across Tropiclean gel . 1. Is it safe for me to use this gel on her teeth 2. Would it remove plaque and tartar from her teeth. Please let me know as I am worried 😊
Sadly bark contains chicken and my dog developed an allergic reaction! I absolutely love the product as it works well and I wish there was a non chicken choice
What if your dog doesn’t like to chew much? My dog has so many things to chew on and she could care less…🤷🏻♀️ Any advice of clipping dog nails? Mine hates and refuses and whimpers like I’m trying to kill her 😒 she’s extremely dramatic.
I often feed Primal turkey necks but they have marrow bones and chicken necks as well. Northwest Naturals and Tucker's Raw Pet Food both have prepackaged marrow bones, and I'm sure there are a ton of other brands that carry them
I buy no hide chews. Some are rolled and baked ingredients and some are just made of pig skin. My pup has a chicken allergy and a sensitive tummy so they have been great. I'm not sure how well they do in regards to helping clean teeth.
Too much protein in theirdiet can contribute to allergies- i own two westies, they have to have less than 29% animal protein. And yes their teeth are gross.
I would love a rank video on chews! Especially a talk about nylonbones. I bought some in the past and often worried if they are even safe

Enjoyed this video! Can you do a video on toothpaste ingredients? I noticed ingredients for bark bright toothpaste wasn’t discussed.
Can you do a video on what you feed your dogs?

Could you do a similar video for cats? Demo brushing a cat's teeth? Thank you!
Are the dental chews VOHC approved?
thank you for this!!
how do you like red barn dog food? It seems really nice with the first 5 ingredients being meat
are the bark bright chews for every day use?

Hello; I wanted to see if you could talk a bit about Victor Pet Food in one of your videos :)
How did you become a pet nutritionist?

Can I mix different tooth products at once? For example, brush, treats and water additives??

My dog died on the vets table when having a dental procedure. I am petrified to do this again with my current pup.

My mums dog died after they pulled out all of his teeth, some had gum disease but all the molars from preventive. He was only a 2 kg Pom.
Do you still do brand deep dives? Really interested in your evaluation of Canidae.

I give my dog 'grain free Greenies' to chew on a few times a week... 🐕😁

What are "No-Hide" chews?
They are a rawhide alternative made of rice flour that offers a similar look and feel of rawhide without the health risks

Everyone wants their dog to live longer but very few will actually brush their dogs teeth twice a day if at all. Most people dont deserve dogs
