I ditched toothpaste over ten years ago. Me and my family have used baking soda ever since. I wet the toothbrush and dip it into the soda. Its caked one. Then stick it under a dripping faucet just to turn it into a wet paste. Spread around all teeth, then light brushing. Rinse. Then i gargle with peroxide for a whole minute. Rinse. Toothpaste caused thrush, gingivitis, swollen gums, tartar, cavities, and kept me going to the dentist. I haven't been back once after ditching toothpaste. People should wise up and realize the industry wants you to need them $$. They will lie to get your business. Same applies to healthcare.

Nowadays, the kids can't even make it to ten years old and they have a mouth full of fillings, crowns and braces that cost more than a car. When they get in their college years, there is no way in creation they can get by without having all of their Wisdom teeth surgically removed...

tl;dr - hundred/thousand years ago more chewing = bigger mouth = no need for extracting wisdom teeth, far as those go.
If it helps any, part of the reason is that said hundred/thousand years ago, there used to be a lot more chewing involved as food overall was far less processed. Therefore it was more chewy (think - roasted leg/shoulder joint of an animal levels of chewiness) which required a larger jaw and also added more muscle to it, thus adding more space.
So that's why, at least far as wisdom teeth go, those weren't pulled out as often.

My 16 year old son first rinses his mouth with baking soda dissolved in water immediately after eating to clear his mouth and neutralize acids before brushing his teeth by dipping his tooth brush in the water/baking soda solution. After brushing he flosses by dipping the floss in the water/baking soda solution and repeats after flossing each space between the teeth. The result: one dentist check-up per year with no cavities or other oral health problems. Of course, not eating between meals, no candy or soda...ever...water only betweeen meals, and other dietary factors has played a role in his stellar oral health, too. We started him on a healthy diet and oral care regiment early in life and it has not only kept him healthy, but saved him from needless suffering as well as thousands of dollars for us in his care.

Was researching years ago about the affects typical toothpastes have on the body with their minimal doses that build up past the safe body limits we're allowed to digest and I quit them. Since then, I've been brushing with coconut oil and baking soda ever since. I rinse with hydrogen peroxide about twice a week and have always had great dental checkups.
My visits for the past few years have left my hygienists disappointed because they were hoping to give me a cleaning but there wasn't anything to clean. I've literally had my mouth be called 'boring' because there wasn't anything to clean. I always get asked what I use and the dentists/hygienists are always surprised. It has cut down the cost of my dental supplied drastically and I have a healthier mouth. Thanks to dentists like you, we're able to make better choices.

This is the first time I've ever heard a dentist address the root cause of tooth decay!
I had an epiphany years ago that the key to eliminating plaque was to reduce the growth of bacteria which is absolutely necessary for it to form. We began rinsing our mouths thoroughly at bedtime with warm water mixed with Sodium Bicarbonate(food-grade baking soda) to create an environment hostile to the unfettered growth of bacteria by meddling with PH. We also began disinfecting toothbrushes after every use with hydrogen peroxide. We haven't had any issues with plaque or cavities since that time! It's amazing that such a small change in hygiene can have such a dramatic effect. But it's unconscionable that modern dentistry doesn't understand, or promote, proper hygiene.
And we got rid of commercial toothpaste that's loaded with Sodium Saccharin! It literally promotes bacterial growth and tooth decay while you sleep! I often think we're still living in the Dark Ages of medicine...

Have you ever tried to polish steel with baking soda? I have, it’s so difficult I gave up. My feeling is you could never brush long enough or hard enough to do any damage to the enamel. Use common sense though, use a small amount and brush lightly. There’s no reason to grind off anything from your teeth. I alternate on different days using salt, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, turmeric with black pepper combination. Everyday is something different including Vicco toothpaste made in India.
*Edit. I’ve recently added povidone iodine to the days when I use toothpaste. Just a drop added to the toothpaste to kill bacteria. I’m aware that I am killing good and bad bacteria but my intention is to kill the bad stuff & hoping the good will return before the bad.

I just started this a couple of months ago and I'm going to the dentist this Friday to see how the pockets have healed. My teeth sure seem to be a lot tighter since I started that, so I think my gums are growing back to health.
I also had a bad infection in my left main molar that I've been keeping at bay this way. It helped, but couldn't completely get rid of it, so that tooth is now gone and I'm waiting for the bone graft to heal so I can get an implant to replace it.

I'm not longer using fluoride toothpaste, brands like Crest, Colgate, etc, I see a huge difference, it's like sugary and 90% doesnt do anything good for your teeth.

      @remiem-iw7uk 2 года назад +19

@Dennis The breath issue can be two fold:
      1. Gut is sluggish so food is rotting/putrifying. Increase natural fibre in your diet so your gut gets scrubbed and you stool it out more efficiently. Cut down dairy and increase water intake as well as fresh fruit and veggies.
      2. Clean your tongue! I recommend starting by using a little baking soda on a damp brush. Start at the back where most of the coating is concentrating. This is more stubborn to clean but well worth doing. You can gently touch around the back of the throat in a circular motion to drain excess mucus hanging there. Snort it down and blow/spit it out. Gargle with the same salt or plain water.
NB: a. Baking soda is very bitter. b. You have to master your gag reflex, so the quicker you brush the back of the tongue, the better. I brush in the shower to save time.
Personally, I brush BEFORE I eat breakfast or at least two hours AFTER a meal to avoid vomiting.
You'll notice your teeth will be "whiter" due to stains being removed.

A tiny little half a peppercorn sized one or even smaller can smell like a piece of the worst rotting parmesan cheese flake or similar. Sound disgusting? Hopefully it inspires you to check out your tonsils. They may even not be visible and require pressing on the tonsils to expose them but I can't recommend being too handsy with your tonsils or you risk a serious throat infection. Like... largely inflamed tonsil that makes your throat feel like someone is pressing an ice cube down on it until it starts to cool the tissue type of pain.

Use common sense though, use a small amount and brush lightly. There’s no reason to grind off anything from your teeth. I alternate on different days using salt, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, turmeric with black pepper combination. Everyday is something different including Vicco toothpaste made in India.

Important information for anyone with dental amalgam fillings, which should have been mentioned in the video considering the possible health consequences.
*When hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with amalgam fillings, hydrogen peroxide molecules break into free radicals that corrode metallic alloys like mercury and release their toxic vapors. Exposing amalgam alloys to bleaching agents release greater amounts of mercury which would be in the dentinal tubules and the dentinal odontoblasts - specialized cells that form new dentin and which extend into the pulp - would be bathed in mercury. Suffice it to say, this is not a good situation to put your teeth in, considering the neurotoxic effects of mercury and the very short distance between your teeth and brain. It is good reason to steer clear of peroxide if you still have amalgam fillings.*

I already have salt and baking soda at home. I will get the 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and get started with this. I have tiny cavities and two wisdom teeth that need to be pulled (the two on the other side were already pulled). In case anyone is interested in my results I'll update you here.
My routine would look like this: brush with toothpaste (I have one that has lots of essential oils but no fluoride as there's already fluoride in some of our salt) on a daily basis, occasionally brush with the method described here, occasionally gently brush with charcoal and occasionally use organic unrefined coconut oil to swish around for a minute and then spit out. I will also eat more food that are good for teeth such as kale or oat.

    • @Dispatern
      @Dispatern Год назад +2

Hello! I started two weeks ago. I didn't use Hydrogen Peroxide yet. I first wanted to try the effects of baking soda only.
      What I've been doing:
      TOOTHPASTE
I brush my teeth twice a day with the toothpaste that I've mentioned in my comment above.
      BAKING SODA
About two or three times a week I dip my toothbrush in baking soda and gently brush my teeth with it (not as long as regular teeth brushing, just until my teeth are covered with the soda from all sides). Then I rinse twice with water. You can also add some baking soda to water to make a mouthwash.
      OBSERVATIONS
I noticed that baking soda really makes the teeth whiter. But the effect is diminished a bit once I drink my daily 3 cups of strong black coffee. 😅
      CHARCOAL
I've used it before to gently (!) brush my teeth with it, then rinse properly or brush with regular toothpaste. I haven't used it in the past weeks as it shouldn't be used too frequently. Charcoal powder can damage the teeth enamel when used too often.
      COCONUT OIL (unrefined, organic)
I haven't used it in the past weeks but I will definitely use it more often. As I've mentioned in my comment above I like to only swish it around for a minute and then spit it out.

      UPDATE October, 11th:
My teeth haven't changed much since my last comment.
      TOOTHBRUSH:
I bought a better toothbrush that has lots of bristles, a flexible head and is of medium hardness. I love it because I can properly reach every tooth and also the backside of them.
FLOSSING: I try to floss regularly.
      GREEN TEA:
I drink organic green tea as it helps to harden your teeth and keep bacteria in check. Sage (Salvia officinalis) tea is also great for keeping bacteria in check.
      BAKING SODA:
I still use baking soda about three times a week. What I do: I lightly dip my toothbrush in the baking soda and lightly apply the baking soda to my teeth (especially to the "problem zones" like the back of the teeth and parts which the toothbrush doesn't reach well). I'm not really applying too much pressure because I don't want to damage my teeth enamel. Once applied (takes 10 seconds) I take a sip of water and swish around and spit it out.
      MOUTHWASH:
I'm not keen on mouthwash because of the chemicals in there. I use a regular over the counter mouthwash but I don't use it every day. Today I read about a mouthwash that's supposed to be really good for halitosis (bad smell). I don't actually have that problem but maybe that mouthwash will help me with my other teeth problems. I read people's opinions on that mouthwash and they were very convincing so I think it's worth a try.
      CHARCOAL:
I haven't used the charcoal in the past few weeks. It shouldn't be used often anyway because it's very harsh and can damage the tooth enamel when used too often. I will keep not using it for now.
      COCONUT OIL:
I use it daily for my skin but I kind of forgot to use it on my teeth lately. I think brushing, flossing, 3x weekly baking soda and occasional mouth wash is quite much already. I will also skip it for now.
      TASTELESS BUBBLEGUM:
There's a bubblegum by a Turkish company that doesn't contain any sugar or sugar substitutes. It's basically tasteless. I read that chewing more than we tend to do nowadays helps to strengthen the jaw muscles. And chewing gum after a meal gets rid of food that's stuck in the teeth. I'll order it or buy it in a Turkish supermarket.
