It was a small goal, at first. Something to pass the time. The Gyms had been beaten mostly out of boredom, just to further validate his status as the current champion. But then he started to hear rumors. Rumors of an insanely strong trainer. Someone who had done it all before him. Someone who had done it better. Someone who, like himself, had never lost once. So he prepped his supplies and had his partners healed and then set off on the journey, seeking a good fight. The mountain was harsh and rugged, as expected. There was much terrain that needed to be overcome. But the place was barren. Not a single soul to be found, barring the local wildlife. He was starting to feel a tad discouraged. While the mountain was supposed to be sectioned off from the public and the unskilled, he had expected that there would be more trainers for him to combat against. As time passed as he ascended, his thoughts briefly mulled on the possibility that his desired opponent just simply wasn't here. Then, after reaching the top, he heard a footstep in the snow behind him. "......" He had come for a challenge. He had come for a good fight. He had come unprepared. It was a young man, somewhat older than him. Or at least that's what it looked like. He wasn't sure whether it was the cold in the air around him or his emotions running rampant, but he had a nonstop chill going down his spine from the moment he had laid eyes on him. Something was off. Something wasn't right. The boy looked human, moved just like everyone else, but every fiber of his being was telling him to run from him while he still had the chance to. Something screamed "monster". But he had come for a challenge. Monster or not, this was why he was here. It was time to see if he could beat the legend at his own game. To see if he really deserved the title of "champion". Nervously, with his hands shaking, he reached for his partner's ball. "....." The legend smiled, as if knowing his intentions. The legend reached for his own partner's ball. His hopeless fight for survival began.
@@lovelyprincesssarah Thank you, this is basically something I wrote up many many years ago when typing out a video description of Trainer Red remix I extended. It's become a bit of a tradition for me to copypasta it whenever something epic like this is created involving Red. My favorite part about it is the last line. It doesn't say which side is having the hopeless fight and I intended it that way. It's implied Red is stomping Gold but since our personal encounters varied as players, I figured I'd keep it vague on purpose since some of us faced our past-self-turned-world's-strongest-trainer overlevelled unintentionally. I don't usually get anyone commenting on that, sadly.....
I will never forget my 8 year old brain trying to process meeting Red back in Gold on Gameboy Color. Easily one of my best experiences in my life especially since I had countless hours in Blue.
I will never forget thinking the game was over as a kid, just exploring the final cave... and then you get to a different floor... you step forwards into a straight path, you know something is at the end of it... A new pokemon, Mewtwo, a trainer? Back then there was no real internet, it was all a mystery. You then see him... a trainer that looks like a player in the distance... you think you might speak with him, to see what he has to say... Then you click and he turns around... ..... The music plays, the battle starts, and you are facing Red who starts with Lv81 Pikachu! And your jaw drops down. The single best moment in all of pokemon and one of the reasons Gen 2 is my fave gen forever.
"Pokémon Master Red wants to battle!" with be the phrase that ends the core series. I swear, in-universe people hear Johto Champion Battle playing softly and threateningly whenever they get near Red.....
I remember my first time facing red so well. And to my mind back then this is exactly how his theme hit me. The final challenge, the best of the best. Absolutely love the remix here, simply wonderful work!
Absolutely amazing 🤤 The chills fighting one of the best trainers of all time is completely insane and this masterpiece takes me back all those years... All the way up to the top of Mt. Silver where there was just this one guy. He turned to me, short of words and the battle started.
They have a lot of decent villains in the newer games. Tough battles and such. Cynthia would be my number two. But RED on top of mount silver. Throwing out pokemon that are easily 10-15 levels higher than you. That was THE fight and will always be THE fight of the entire pokemon series to me.

Late, but this was incredibly done!

Ah yes a potentially world ending pokemon trainer
When the genre suddenly changes to "Survival Horror"
Wow this theme gives me goosebumps, thanks for making this epic rendition of an already masterpeice of a music.
Absolutely amazing 🤤
