The clean and simple look, and the proper-looking vehicle modes , are why I decided to get these. I dont want Swindle as a humvee, or an SUV.. The reason I didnt get Warbotron is because of the alt-modes. I want contemporary military vehicles, not fanciful, futuristic designs. I just hope the combined mode looks okay, since I'm committed to buying them all now! The Hasbro Combiner Wars combaticons actually look very cool, but I'm gonna wait and see if WeiJiang do oversized versions..
first off...great review....i love this thing and cant wait for mine to arrive...second...i just want to say that im American...and i LOVE light piping....i wish more Transformers had it....
He's nice looking, but in jeep mode way to big. They should have toned down the size a little and where he clips into the foot should have been higher/thicker so the leg mode would match their Brawler. Just my opinion.
Maybe a third party company or Shapeways will give us a shoulder cannon mount. That or if you're so inclined you could make one out of plasticard. I'm actually watching and waiting on this set and the Zeta toys version before I invest in a $500 set of combiners.
Not sure where your getting that the USA doesnt like light piping...i personally love it. Though we cant control hasbro lol Another great review Ben! Keep it up!
What I personally want is an idealised interpretation of what the characters would look like - imagine the back of box art from the middle 1980's - looking to cartooy (i.e. lacking detail) is disappointing to me - so I like MP Artfire but I dislike MP Inferno simply because MP Inferno is so very plain. Perhaps even Starsaber is just a wee bit to plain too. When I put a 3rd party item or a Mp next to something that is going for a quality car mode then it can stand out like a sore thumb - so much so that I'd say you may have to select what you buy for inaccuracy to the real world vehicle modes make them jell with each other. MP Lambor is a good example of something that likely would have looked way nicer with a toy accurate deco on the same body design - in particular the weapons.
G.I joe figures are way to big for these guys. This would prob scale better with the human alliance figures, or the spike figure that comes with mp prime

Have you tried seeing what scale of figures can fit into the jeep mode?

90 Lancaster I somewhat agree, that's why I get the reprolabels. they can actually make a lot of difference
How do modern (or 80s) GiJoe figures scale with him?

God he makes that mp-11 screamer look 😕
Power to the 3rd party
light piping is much cheaper it stays
