I got mine today. Really nice, solid toys! Have a good weight to them, and have an all over matte finish. I like how the weapon sockets are universal, so Swindle and Brawl's guns can simultaneously attach to Swindle's turret. My only wish is that they had made Swindle a little smaller. Compared to Brawl, he's a little out of scale, especially in vehicle mode. Not a deal-breaker, but would've been nice. Oh, and $90 is a shade on the expensive side... Cant wait to get the rest of the team!
Wow so far very clean transformation and yes I love that things hide so well and Swindle looks more G1 then anything before even Brawl looks good as well I hope they not goof with the last three and the combined mode because this could be the best Bruticus yet.
Hazem Abdeen I always thought Swindle should be the same size as the Autobot cars. But I think the rest of the team will size nicely. And, when all is said and done what matters is each person's preference. Some people may prefer these, and some may prefer another not Combaticon set.
3rd. UT did War Lord (Predaking), it was their first release and it shows. But there was also clear improvement as it went along. They also did Ordin, the only 3rd Party Abominus so far. It isn't perfect, but fairly good overall.
I love the way these guys turned out! And your reviews on both of them are stellar. While I was watching, I noticed there's what appears to be a slot on the outside of both arms. Can that be used to mount his big blaster?
I'm impressed that someone actually made a modernized Swindle based on the G1 cartoon with a Jeep alt mode. Not some Hummer (Fansproject) or made up crap (Generations & Combiner Wars), nor some repaint of Alternators/Binaltech Hound.
cadsux I happened to like the Humvee version even the dune buggy version from CW was meh. so I guess you're so stuck in the past that you won't watch the gen 1 reboot cartoon coming next year?
Eric Atkisson The "Gen 1 reboot cartoon" is pure speculation based on placeholder images at a convention. If they meant anything we would have been told so.
I'm not stuck in the past. What's with the assumption? I've been collecting since G1, Hasbro/Takara & 3rd Party offerings. I have the FP & Warbotron versions too, but a Jeep/cartoon based version is something new. Besides, there's no excuse for modern series/movies and products to be "crap", given the modern tech.
For the leg mode, it looks like you fold away the front grill like you do for robot mode and use the gap between the elbows as the ankle plug. sorry if this is a repeat comment
The engineering for this (not) Swindle is gorgeous, but he looks so generic. He's still really cool, kinda fits the G1 cartoon styling though so that's nice!
I'm surprised Hasbro & Takara didn't sue the 3rd party companies. Not that I'm complaining mind you, just shocked that it didn't happen. Can't they technically win if they do sue?
I'm no expert on copyright law but I believe they get away with it since this is a different medium. Blizzard doesn't hold the rights to names in the realm of transforming robot toys.
From what I understand, since more or less all of these 3P companies are based in China, it's almost impossible to effectively litigate them. It would cost Hasbro/Takara more money than they would stand to gain to bring suit to any of them. Since they largely probably view these as a secondary market, and not direct infringement on their primary toy lines, why would they bother?
Probably the best Swindle to be ever created. The transformation makes it look like a trainwreck but it comes together very nicely.
Sweet Jesus, that transformation oozes genius. Even if I don't get the whole Bruticus, I'm really wanting this Swindle.

I been thinking the Autobots would probably pay me a fortune for this beauty
Both are looking good. If the combined mode is solid this will be my Bruteicus.
Very cartoon accurate! Brawl is too! Considering getting this set. Hopefully the combined mode is good. Great review!
I hope Vortex and Blastoff are also clean in their transformation, if that would be the case then I'm in!

I definitely want to get this version of MP-Inspired Combaticons by Unique Toys!
Comparison with other MP figures: www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/unique-toys-ragnaros-combaticons-bruticus.1107500/page-55#post-14753710
I think they scale pretty well with the MP figures.

peaugh Thanks for adding this comparison.
Sounds like this might be Unique Toys' 1st combiner, can't wait to see how the whole thing turns out.

Third party companies name their toys like a person nicknaming their Pokemon does after googling "ancient gods you've never heard of"

Amazing! Looks like the Swindle from Transformers G1! Jeep Willys as alternative mode!

i hope they make a Protectobot set.
Man, that looks good.
So clean, very nice.
Always wondered why the cartoon Swindle looked so different from the G1 toy. I know the robot is small compared to his comrades.
The Alternators/Binaltech Hound & Swindle also had "feet as seats".
cadsux The back seats were actually in the back of the calves and not the feet.

Wait a second... Aren't all those names from WOW? don't Blizard have the IP for those?
I mean, these 3rd party toys are already using the looks of licensed characters without permission.
That Leetri Guy and yet Hasbro/Takara don't seem to mind, do they?
I'm surprised Hasbro & Takara didn't sue the 3rd party companies. Not that I'm complaining mind you, just shocked that it didn't happen. Can't they technically win if they do sue?

when will you be doing zeta toys a.k.a bruticus?
comparing him to Hello Kitty and Doreamon would be more accurate, I will display them with them of course, they are the same season and tv show
These are blowing the Zeta figs out of the water so far.
liked to have seen a comparison with starscream mp
Inb4 one of the combaticons' name is (Majordomo) Executus
Very simple formers also not to expensive.
You didn't do a mp-10 comparison
Matt Tronimus I posted a comment that shows them with various MP figures, including MP-10
animated was the last time swindle wasnt a combimer
5th :D, great review Peaugh
The unique toys limbs are very sleek.
wow....
Are you giving this to bobby to review??
These are 50 dollar bots, maybe 60... UT asks way to much for them :(
Man, I'm trying to pass on these guys. These look too good.
that purple hood...yuk!
