Great video and examples of how wider leg fits can look smart and versatile. Personally, I've always loved slim jeans and trousers, but this year I too have finally had enough. Suddenly, I'm uncomfortable in them, physically and mentally. Thus, after a very long time I've re-introduced wider jeans and trousers to the rotation. More drape and comfort, while still avoiding dreaded bagginess and stacking by cuffing or hemming. It can be done. And it's good to be back.

Firstly, Welcome back to the comfort club, its good to see you back. There's nothing inherintly wrong with slimmer fits (skinny maybe there is lol), but they start to feel a bit restrictive. I like how you said mentally, because thats what it was for me. I felt like I was just the same-same as everyone else, and it wasn't comfortable either mentally or physically. And now, I feel comfortable, and like me. Classic cuts for life.

It’s funny when u refer the relaxed fit to a “modern look,” because some of those photos just look like my high school yearbooks of the 90s

Hahaha yes it is quite funny. Fashion is cyclical! I think a relaxed fit is more universally fashionable. Not too slim, not too baggy.

I’ve thought about this a lot. I’ve landed on a straight leg too. Not wide not slim. Just straight. I figured middle of the road will keep my pants in style for longer. I think similar to what you are looking for too. Doing this, I’ve had a pair of samurai jeans for 6 years, and a custom pair on tan jeans for 10. They weathered the slim fit scene! With that said, I have a pair of black slim fit jeans I’m keeping. I like the trim look it gives with a pair of cvo’s. Love all the insight in this video!

Exactly the same boat. And yes it took a bit of thinking of my end too! It's just the perfect balance of all the things IMHO. And that's what I want, I don't want a pair of pants I can "only wear to x thing" lol 😂😂 I like wearing them. Samurai jeans man!! I need to try them. Hoping to visit Japan and go to the source one-day

@@jessupsays have you heard much about where Ralph Lauren chinos are made? I love so much RL and RRL stuff but how/where it’s made is always danced around. That’s why I think Informale is making a good sales pitch. Good quality, good cut, and made in Australia. I like that!
And if you go, I really liked stopping at Denimio in Tokyo. But once in Japan you are spoiled for choice. I highly recommend buying selvedge and anything indigo dyed if you go!

I hadn't actually heard. They're probably Vietnam, maybe Turkey or even Portugal (just where people mostly go). None of which are terrible, but the risk is they're China (The product page says 'Imported') so chances are they are. And that never feels good.
You're so right about Informale, they hit all the right notes AND They're made locally to me. Its ideal really. Mate... Denimio :O Absolute goals! Ive got a bit off the site. Apprecaite the recommendation!

Great channel - keep up the good work.
Quick one; you’ve reviewed the Berg & Berg Arthur jeans before. I’ve bought these in indigo, mid-wash, light-wash, black and ecru (probably a bit excessive, I know). Would you consider their new wider Arthuro version? I like the idea of the fuller cut, but don’t think they would go so well with my tailoring. Also, I had hoped that I had denim sorted for the foreseeable after splashing out on the above mentioned jeans.

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement.
Not excessive, sounds intelligent! Assuming they fit you and you find them comfortable. I wouldn't change , for me the Arthur is a great regular fit, it's not extreme, it also would be in my pile of good fit jeans I own. But I've covered them more than rubato haha 😂
The new ones look interesting but I think that unless you're dying for a looser leg I wouldn't bother.

No disrespect but you just seem to be waffling on about any fit and those images from the past styles are so wrong. I lived through the 70s 80s and 90s and none of those pictures are accurate

None taken. You didn't answer the question? Are you saying you learned nothing because the images weren't accurate? They were clearly fun. I do waffle, but what did you want to learn that you didn't
