Thats exactly what I was wondering first think, I was like is that a passive hihat but it's bouncing up and down maybe there is a cable hooked up. I saw Jack irons name inverted well you get my drift
Sending my love to Chad, who looks really happy to be there and perform, as well as Josh who's doing an amazing job filling great shoes and has to deal with constant comparison to John Frusciante =)
Frusciante did not attend the ceremony. Smith said "We asked him, he said, 'I'm just not really comfortable with that, but good luck and thanks for inviting me.' He's the kind of guy, I think, that once he's finished with something he's just on to the next phase of his life. The Chili Peppers are not really on his radar right now."
i think he never liked this kinda attention even while he was in the chili peppers :) ofc during that time he didnt have a choice and had to attend these events
Frusciante wasn't there cause he doesn't like being on live stage and seen by the piblic or big crowds, i think he always just did it for the music and he hated getting the attention but we will alwys love what he cotributed to the chili peppers
+sakima sahara-khan lol, your so wrong. Watch the Live at La Cigale concert and tell me John doesn't feed off of the crowd's energy. The intro to Can't Stop will pretty much contradict your statement. He even said it in an interview which is definitely on RUclips somewhere. I will not bother digging it up. Do your research on an artist before you make a bold claim like that.
+Luke Maggioli Sorry Live at Alcatraz, time stamp 2:05 . then try telling me he doesn't like being on live stage or seen by public/big crowds... cmon now.
@@lukemaggioli he doesn't, he's said it in countless interviews, he couldn't handle the fame and decided he'd be happier recording solo stuff in a more secluded area
@@lukemaggioli i think you guys talk about 2 different things. frusciante clearly stated many times that he had big issues with fame and publicity. on the other hand there were times where he said he loved playing for an audience. during a concert of his solo work, he even says that his music did not feel complete until he performed it for an audience. as you said its also clear when you watch his live performances that there is a strong energy bond between him and the audience. i think if being in the chili peppers involved nothing but making music and performing it on stage, he might not even have left the band. sadly there are many more public events one has to attend when being a member of a big band like this.
dig this chad has been a bro for years !!~ when his mom and dad divorced he left the crib and was my neighbor for about a half a yr we bothe went to maple elementary , and his mama and him went home and I saw him 6 yrs later he was a drum teacher for Pontiac Music and Sound .. he was playing with a great Detroit band c
It would pretty hard for Josh to have any illusions over what's what. It's a completely different situation from when, say, Navarro joined in Johns place. Josh has known those guys for almost 20 years, he started working with John on his solo stuff almost 10 years ago. Josh was a calculated and collaborative choice from the entire previous line up. The guy was a pepper before he was a pepper and was handed the reins by Frusciante himself. It's beautiful :)
Did anyone catch right when they finished “give it away” Anthony sang “ will you still love me tomorrow?” Softly .. I feel this is a tribute to John who covered this on stadium tour
John will always be "my" RHCP guitarist just like to my dad, Connery will always be 'his' James Bond. John was the guitarist when I started following the band and I have been in awe of his play many times. That said If we were going to lose John, it's lucky we got someone who rocks like Josh does. And here's truly hoping that to a new generation of Chili's fans, Josh will always be 'their' RHCP guitarist
You're forgeting Dave. Why he is so underrated at the Chili Peppers? He made with them one of their best albums. I prefer imagine John, Dave and Hillel...
Whether Josh is a copy or not is beside the point. He played with John, and he's been touring with the Chili Peppers for 5 years now. Dave was kicked because his style was too different. He's a good guitarist, but he was replaced for a reason. I think that Josh is similar to John in some ways, but not so much that it hinders the band's ever-changing style. He's an excellent guitarist, and even if his skills aren't on par with John's, he's the best man for the job. I even like his voice better
I've noticed that he has a tendency to use simple rock beats, but then I realized that he has to. He has a Flea running around adding chaos, and someone has to keep the beat.
RHCP always had this amazing energy, they play like its their last concert. And at the end being joined by other rock stars its like they are saying "fuck it, lets make this shit a huge rock party"
So happy for them. Other than the Rolling Stones and a small other few bands I don't believe a band has adapted and been in touch with so many generations. They are truly adaptive and one of a kind and definitely deserve to be in the hall of fame no doubt about it. They have stood the test of time.
I think Green Heaven is the best song on the first album. Well at least I have noticed they have in the latest shows used a xtra drummer or something? and one guy on synthesizer.
Damn! I think my face fell off!!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing this. I think any music should be for EVERYONE not just people who pay for cable or satellite. PEACE!
im only 14 and rhcp is easily my favorite band ive listened to them since i was 5 and i bought Stadium Arcadium on the first day it was available and i rode my bike to walmart to buy an itunes gift card and downloaded Im With You and listened through it 3 times staight What im sayin is rhcp is amazing and all who dont like them and only like modern day music where someone can plug their voice into a computer and change it can just go away
I went to see chillis this summer , im in my early twenties , and i dont rly dig the new album but any songs they played off it the teenage crowd were diggin it and singin the lyrics so as long as someones diggin im happy. Maybe theyll expand on the sound they have now, in the next album ( almost said the second album ) and it will finally click with older fans (not considering myself an older fan). I think just give it more time and the funkjuice will shine through, it always shines through.
"Higher Ground" was composed by Stevie Wonder 10 years before RHCP even existed. Stevie recorded the entire song all by himself. Have some respect like RHCP themselves have for funk History and easy on sucking up to Frusciante, he would hate it.
Why was the other short term guitarist (not Josh, I mean the guy that appeared in 'Breaking the Girl') inducted and not also Dave?? Any way, thanks for uploading as it was not shown in Australia, or at least not free to air.
Ok Josh is a lot better than I am (funny sentence, considering my name is Josh) but I still don't think he's a good fit for rhcp. Where are the furious, beautiful solos? His solos are neither furious, nor beautiful:s I think he should focus on that a little bit. Just my humble opinion.
Billy Joel Armstrong of Green Day really contributed so much to the final performance of "Higher Ground" with his unidirectional strumming on an unamplified acoustic guitar. So glad that I have had John and Flea's highly textured, groovy guitar sounds to enjoy over the years, free from mass distortion and overdrive that makes a poor guitarist's playing seem moderate to the generic "rock" fans. I hope everyone knows that this band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is so much more than just a rock band.
And Josh is a professionnal musician for years,he began his career in 1998.He has a style and he doesn't try to incorporate Frusciante,he only adapts his style to the band. And he knows what he does. You can believe me, he worked with the bests : Beck, Gnarls Barkley,Christina Aguillera, and even Frusciante(and Frusciante said himself that he finds that Josh is a great artist),and a lot of others. He has got a real reputation in the profession. If now you don't believe me; you are really obstinate .

and suddenly all the band is left-handed
it's because the uploader needed to flip it for copyright purposes

All but Slash...

It feels weird to see Chad playing left handed
This how good they are, they all played left handed ... just amazing ...
Hahaha
I knew someone would say that
I dont unverstand it because they are not mirrored wtf
😂😂😂😂
And Flea had his Jimi Hendrix tattoo moved from his left arm to his right arm. Incredible

Good god I love Josh's backing vocals.
It is so awesome to see these guys performing so flawlessly after all these years and so happy everyone is healthy and happy. Congratulations guys ❤❤❤

BEST.BAND.EVER. Enough said. This music and these people are the best, they gave us so much.... Thanks for sharing this moment!
If you just wait 100 more years, you'll probably see that amazing performance happen in heaven.
the higher ground jam is epic
I just love that they went from wearing shirts while holding their speech, and now they are shirtless to rock. Those shirts just had to go! :D
Oops, sorry! But this is not Hillel's brother! This is Cliff Martinez, who drummed on the first Red Hot record!
Chad Smith is definitely the best drummer they had :)
2021 here ... john is back!!! . but why i feel just , ok and bit sad for josh ?
Did anyone else here Anthony sing that little part of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow at the end of Give It Away? John used to sing that.
no those were the two previous drummers in RHCP back in the early 80's so they are honouring them by letting them play with them one last time.

one of the best bassist in music history, great band!

É o vaxcao?
VASCO
They are so grateful and honoured, they are really giving it their all here. This is why they are the best band in the world.
you cant compare josh and john! they are completely different artists and josh gives the peppers also an amazing new sound as fruiscante did!

Fun fact: stage presence is almost as important as technical skill

I think he's a nice fit into RHCP, the whole Jazzy undertone seems to work really well to me, especially with the funk of the rest of the band
