  • YES! We push those piston pounders from there frozen holes. And goodness sake what a chore that was. We will also explore if this engine can get away with a refurbishment or if it will need a rebuild.

For a one-hour video, it moved right along. And fun to watch!

Engines are like people....when they sit, their joints freeze up. (At least mine do) 😅😅 Some good, some bad....it seems like an engine can't ever be all good news. (Can't seem to have that kind of luck) Good job tearing it down! Thanks for sharing! 😎

Pro tip: when you punch out a piston (stuck or not), don't catch it with your toes. Even the small and light aluminium pistons from my 302 hurt quite a lot. That's why I was smart enough to do it only twice!

Its like doing surgery. But now luckily it can be rebuilt and isn't a total lost cause.

Man that thing must have had a lot of condensation in it to do that to that one piston and the rings.

Also thinking the fire retardant may have been sprayed down the carb as well when the fire fighters put it out years ago……..that wouldn’t help anything haha🙃

@@SwedeMachine yeah, that stuff is really corrosive and I bet that's a big reason why it was so bad.

as i have snow outside, i guess by 'frozen' you mean rusted ;), frozen might have been easier to remove
