This lesson was huge. I went into this not knowing any of the techniques, and after about an hour of going through and rewinding here and there, I can play about 70% of it already and I know I'll get the rest (and the speed) soon enough. Love the teaching style, you're helping people achieve their dreams. Keep it up!

You the man! I've been playing out for years (fingerstyle & flatpicking) for years. Never could quite pull off percussive guitar. Your tutorial gave me the extra help I needed. Adding this to my "arsenal" ... Thanks much.

I have been playing around one year now, mostly when I come home after work. This first part was what threw me of so many times. I never knew how the slapping sound was produced and so went and ignored it whenever it showed up in tabs. Without it, so many arrangements feel real flat. Thank you so so much for explaining this to me! Your channel is amazing through and through! :) Greetings from Germany.

Dude, this is some of the best overall guitar instruction I've ever seen, and is easily the most comprehensive, understandable and consise instruction on percussive slapping in particular. I've been playing some of these wrong for years, it turns out. I will glady contribute to the channel as soon as I'm on my feet. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Subbed
Edit: also, that riff in drop D at the end was not lame at all, but was, in fact, badass

I have been scouring the Internet looking for videos on percussive tap technique. I am frustrated at how initially difficult I am finding this. But I am determined to get it down. Initially, I was trying to do too much too fast. I rewatched this video and the kind gentleman doing it said something that stuck with me “be patient” , "learn one technique at a time“ …How simple, and encouraging at the same time. I am so eager to adapt this technique that I am rushing through it and it’s hurting my progress. I will slow down and work on one technique at a time, knowing that I am advancing towards my goal in the process in a practical and truly helpful manner. Thank you sir, for being able to relate to the frustrations that side track many of us that simple little cue to “be patient” and learn one technique at a time” is something that will resonate with me. Thank you again, sir.
