    Riz contradicts herself so many times during this interview. The one that stands out is trans people have to wait up to 10 years for treatment but it is lifesaving care for kids. If people are managing to go 10 years without treatment and not dying I think they will be just fine. Puberty is not a disease, and there is no wrong puberty and no one recreates the opposite sexes puberty from opposite sex hormones. No medication or surgery exists that can hack nature, sorry children. The adults need to come back into the room and assure these children and young adults that reality is just fine and nothing to be scared of.

    • @nakedenby
      @nakedenby Год назад

      There's no contradiction there. As you probably know full well, gender affirming care covers a broad range of interventions from simple assessment and counselling, thru' puberty blockers (if appropriate) to cross sex hormones and surgery (if appropriate). A waiting time of 10 years is quite typical for actual treatment, regardless of age.
      Who said puberty was a disease? Well actually precocious puberty IS regarded as something requiring blockers to delay onset but anyway, if after lengthy assessment a child and their clinicians confirm that transition is the route to follow then delaying puberty is a perfectly reasonable thing to do and the majority of the world's medical and scientific experts agree. Kathleen Stock's personal experience might have shaped her own views but the evidence completely contradicts her supposition about affirming care being available in her childhood. In fact her entire position is at odds with the mainstream medical consensus.
      It's clear from your post that children are merely an excuse and you simply don't believe transitioning is possible. Essentially denying the existence of any trans people. Your framing implies you have a limited understanding of gender. That isn't necessarily your fault, and so long as those remain only your personal opinions then your entitlement to hold those beliefs should be respected.
      Where the line gets crossed is when an already very vulnerable minority is disrespected, abused and discriminated against. Likewise, where deliberately false or misleading information is disseminated to further the political aims of those who just don't like the idea of trans people, or are weaponising them for wider political agendas. The majority of people trying to obstruct affirming care for children are transphobes who don't think transgender people should exist. They are transparently trying to disguise their disgust as 'concern' for children, in the same way as TERFs disguise theirs as 'concern' for women.

    When trans people and their advocates talk of "constant harassment", they often mean "people are not blindly agreeing" with them, or following their own self-view. Interviewers really should look into these claims of "constant harassment", asking for examples, evidence, rather than allowing that to be an unquestioned narrative. There is a reason why many trans people had a high level of suicide and self harm; there are mental issues and a high degree of flawed perception involved, and previously this was widely recognised, and gender dysphoria was treated primarily through psychology and counselling. Not chemicals, surgery, and encouragement to believe something that is scientifically incorrect.

    I've worked with and got on marvellously well with a transexual. There was certainly no "hate" and I was happy to go along with her name change, pronoun change, appearance change. But had I been put on the spot I would logically, scientifically, biologically have to say that when all said and done, this was a man living as a woman. Which is okay until it infringes other people's rights, dignity and freedoms.
    The mantra "If you disagree with me, that means you must hate me" is totally unfair and inaccurate.
    The mental health industry has in some ways fuelled the falsehood that feelings trump reality. Our feelings matter, but they are still just feelings. When they clash with reality, reality wins.
    If a bloke wants to change his appearance and look like how society perceives a woman might look, change from Pete to Janet, thats fine. I will defend their right to do that all day long. But don't force others to accept and buy into the fallacy that a man can actually BECOME a woman. It ain't true and no amount of emotion or internal conflict will make it so.

    I think it’s very interesting that the very first line of defense is “trans people k*ll themselves”… that is true, yes, but it should not keep us from discussing topics that we disagree on. For instance, white men k*ll themselves more than any other group and it doesn’t stop anyone from voicing their distain… we are not even speaking from a place of distain, just a desire for fairness in womens sports and privacy.

Deeper down it's confuse and disorientate the masses, usher in totalitarian rule while these people have been manipulated to believe it's what they want. And maybe some of them are too far gone, they don't even realise they're fighting for their own enslavement.
