I know just a bit about engine repairs and, at my age now (63), not likely to start undertaking things like this. But I enjoy watching pros like you doing this.

Thank you my friend
Great craftsmanship
Thanks my friend
Awesome!
I forgot if you covered in an earlier installment, is there a reason why you didn't use a rubber (silicone?) FelPro gasket there?
I use what the owner supplied. Keeping this one old school....lol
Yea buddy!!
Getting there!
Seems like a heavier application of rtv between the block and the girdle is needed to avoid leaks?
Yeah, there is no gasket there
1/8 or 3/16 is enough clearance? I've heard u want between 3/8 to half in 1/8 seems pretty slim
I depends on if it's a bottom intake or has a plate under it
@@PetesGarage oh ok the girdle plate that's the clearance for it with one?
I never see a windage tray installed when a girdle is installed, why is that?
The girdle kind of acts like a windage tray. Adding one would be too much
because it's hard to fit unless you put in the effort to make it work. This particular girdle does absolutely nothing to affect windage. I used a different type of girdle system on a twin turbo 493 and cut apart and modified a Milodon windage tray.
Ok Pete I would like you to rebuild my engine. I have a running 1969 AMX with a 390 and now a Tremec 5 speed. I have watched your videos and feel you are the right person for the job. If your interested please comment here and I will provide my email and we can discuss it? I really would be happy for you to help me with this project.
My phone number is at the end of all my videos if you'd like to text me
