  • I got a delivery! Finally picked up the last Beaufort from the Hell or Highwater collection, so here's my thoughts on that!

    This review just put a big smile on my face, you describe it so vividly. I love this scent, it's challenging for sure, but I love it.

    Your Beafort reviews drew me to this channel-good stuff.
    Vi et Armis is quite elegant which I find surprising but it's superb.

    Brilliant review mate. I'll be buying my first two bottles from this house at the weekend. Can't decide since I love them all. Definitely Couer de Noir, then either this or Iron Duke or Rake and Ruin.

    I love Beaufort. I have 3/5 of the range, samples of the others. Will complete the set. Found your channel searching for this fragrance. Nice one!

    I told you this was a beautiful chaos ages ago on one of your other beaufort videos 😂 I thought you'd enjoy it.
    I love this juice! Excited to hear your thoughts on this one.
    Hope all is well with you and yours 🙏

      Absolutely! You turned me on to this one for sure, I had kind of overlooked it for so long! Your right though, true beauty and beast!

    Really appreciate you reviewing the bombastic and wildly creative stuff this house puts out. It is not a frequently reviewed house.
    I am lying down in a room with exposed brick and stone in a historic building in Quebec City where I am currently visiting for a few days. I'm wearing 1740 Marquis du Sade by Histoires de Parfums. A fragrance that is smoky, dirty, vulgar and rich with character. It smells like Old Quebec City feels. Old stone buildings. Horses. The smoke from fires and the sweat of people. Well worn leather. That is what I get from it. I am transported back in time. That's what made me think of Beaufort London. Their fragrances are more challenging but their philosophy is the same. Visceral, stark and at times brutal encapsulations of centuries past. Gunpowder and opium. Wooden ships at sea. Historic England.
    I'd love to hear some of your other recommendations in this category (moody, dark, historic). Cheers from Canada.

    Great review - I'm adding it to my list for next time I'm ordering samples 😁
    Tonnerre didn't really take my fancy, but I remember thinking Coeur De Noir was quite beautiful.
    Also, Incase youve not tried - a frag I think you might like is Rook by Rook perfumes

      It's definitely worth sampling at least! I think if you liked Couer De Noir though, you'll be more into this one. I think they're quite similar honestly, maybe this one is like it's big, beefier brother! I'll definitely check out the Rook, there's a couple from there I want to try so I'll make sure it's on the list! Thanks!

    I love this fragrance 😂 My boyfriend described its scent as the darkest crappiest dump, filled with dust and filth, dark and old never cleaned woods, glasses filled with crap and crust that let pass just a dim light and a guy sitting in the darkest corner of the bar drinking whiskey and smoking a cigar 😂😂😂 Needless to say that he forbid me to go inside his room wearing this 😂😂

    Birch tar is not in the notes Ben. Only birch.. 🤷🏻‍♂️ amazing review. I need to get this. Will the Iron Duke be reviewed?

    • @TalkingScents
      @TalkingScents  4 года назад +2

      It's 100% birch tar, you can't mistake that smell, for sure! I have a ton of birch tar on my shelf behind my head and it's one of my favourite raw ingredients, so I'm pretty comfortable calling that one 😁 I only have a sample of Iron Duke, but I'll definitely review it, I remember enjoying it, but I've only ever worn it once. I'll have to get it out this week, thanks for reminding me! And probably making me spend more money 😂 have you tried it? What do you think of it?

    • @kasper9582
      @kasper9582 4 года назад

      Talking Scents Yeah, you cant mistake the Birch tar. Just strange when Beaufort and fragrantica haven’t got it on their list. I haven’t got Iron Duke yet, but its in the mail for me(blind buy i know). Could you make maybe a “sea/sailor” list? Working as sailor it could be fun to see. The sunny beach haven’t got much to do with it, as most marine fragrances is. Maybe thats why i have to get all the Beauforts.

    My friend got a sample of this some time ago...To me, it smelled like smoked sausage and lots of birch tar! Of course, it was more than that, but this is what I got at the first sniff :)

    • @TalkingScents
      @TalkingScents  4 года назад

      Haha yeah, it's definitely got that barbeque meat vibe in there. Raw birch tar actually smells like barbeque sauce, which is really weird!

    Coeur de noir scared the fuck outta me 😂 I've revisit the brand. Do they do samples?

    • @TalkingScents
      @TalkingScents  4 года назад +1

      Haha they're all a bit scary to be fair 😂 they do a discovery set which looks awesome and comes in a cool little leather pouch but it's not cheap sadly. Bloom perfumery do just your standard 1ml samples though 👌

    With a name like 'force and arms', I'm thinking it could be perfect for the military. Like for a tank driver. 🎖️ I don't know why, but the Nintendo game 'Iron Tank' suddenly came to mind.
