Definitely a crazy fragance, not for blind buy, hate it or love it, daring and complex, one of the most unique fragances in the market.
I have 1805 tonnerre and I have to tell you it's definitely the most challenging fragrance in my collection. I've had it for almost a year and I've never given it a full wear. It's that intimidating!

Picked up a sample, and WOW it can not be said enough how strong and bold this is! And I say this with all the love in the world, it smells like my father’s old leather jacket that he used to keep cigarettes and loose tobacco in. It’s nostalgic almost. Possibly too mature for me, but something I will age into I think. Not giving up on it yet, its scent is addicting…And as bold as it is, I’m considering trying to layer it with something…suggestions?
I blind bought this, Bloody hell it's insane, it's like the inside of a pirate ship after a battle, will never wear it but I will keep it just for shits n giggles, Iron Duke is my fav!
As a whiskey drinker your description of this fragrance reminds me of heavily peated whiskeys like Ardberg, Laphroaig etc. If you don't drink I suggest the next time you attend a party and they serve these libations you should take a whiff 😊
Love the peat in Ardbeg. My favorite single malt.
I’d like to consider myself super girly, but I absolutely love smokey and deep scents. Your review made this sound so out there that I HAD to try it. Well, I’m soooo in love with it! It may not go with my mom of two, messy bun, leggings and crewneck daily attire, but I don’t even care! This is me in a bottle! Thank you for your review; I would of otherwise never discovered this house!

It was my SOTD.
I just received an 8ml lipstick decant from Maxaroma. If you can get through the first ten minutes, magic happens. It becomes a smoky, amber bomb with some green notes in the background. It’s full bottle worthy for me. The opening is super, super strong.
This is a holy grail scent for me. Everything about it is perfect.

I own 1805 Tonnerre frim the same house and yes it is really a hard fragrance to wear. It is smokey, gun powdery with a hence of watery notes underneath. I like it as a work of art and i wear it to myself sometimes, but i cant say i can wear it publicly

I think this is one of those love it or hate it houses. I love everything from the house! To me it is like a darker, richer, line like Orto Parisi. Agreed with the dark, gothic comparison you made. There are rainy weekends in the winter I wear this for days straight. In house and out of the house. I am considerably larger than yourself (I am 6'4" 300+ lbs) but I proudly go 3-5 sprays on everything but 1805 Tonnerre (2 because I think this one is Calone heavy...and not my favorite scent). All-in-all love your review and love Beaufort!
MaxAroma is great. You do have to snatch up when you can.
I like the ones you mention, I would like to add Profumo Roma's Arso. I like that one too.
I like VeA better than the gunpowder Tonnerre. I think Tonnerre is the one that is achingly dry.
I think a reference point is a perfect terminology for this piece.

This fragrance sounds amazing
One of the best niche fregrance houses around!! Sort of t-Rex from zoologist but more violent and “alcoholilc/spicy”! Try also the other ones like iron duke or coeur de noir!! Tonnerre is the most daring!! Awesome!!

I love unusual fragrances. I am very tempted getting it :)
I bought this when Twisted Lily was still open. Its so cool, dark, smokey, boozy, but later it just becomes smoke. Only spray once. I use it to make floral jammy fragrances more cooler. I wish it has a warmer Amber note, it's a very cold fragrance. Like a wide open black marble Monastery/museum, cold black steel comes to mind.
