bonus facts from a transformer fan
the diner is labelled "Al's park" which is likely a play on Allspark, the life giving relic of transformers which debuted in the 2007 movie
the Diner's main sign resembles the 'Ancient Autobot' writing which debuted in the 80s cartoon
and the hang ten symbol on their chests, while this is a bit of a stretch, a couple characters do the hangten with their hands when doing the 'universal greeting' in transformers
I wonder if the choice not to mention that the hell portal look like a vagina was because it was so obvious, they didn't want to mention it, or another reason.

I would say "Pen Head" is among the first group Rick and Jerry summon. Beth comments on the pens at the bar. Still a reference to "Pin Head" though.
Also, the "sofa wine" could be a reference to s5e1. Morty goes through so much and causes Jessica to become a time god, he may have wanted to avoid that again and stashed wine in the sofa. (We haven't seen Jessica since episode 1...)
When the car burns the changeformers you can hear one of them shout "oh the changeformety!" like the commentary on the Hindenburg disaster "oh the humanity!" Expect they're changeformers not humans. Amazing :D
When the changeformers are being burned alive by the car, one of them says “oh the changeformity”, referencing radio reporter Herb Morrison’s famous words on watching the Hindenburg disaster (also involving fire).
I had never realized how if you make those flags on the mailbox way bigger they look like axes. I was shocked that Bruce didn't get dismembered, because I legitimately thought they were axes for the first few seconds of that scene
i believe that the "marlin" piercing was a callback to the inhabitants of the waiting room at the conclusion of the film Beetlejuice.

You never actually see Rick with a portal gun here nor does he use one to leave Hell or go home at the end. Meaning he has something in the garage that lets him leave but he has to get back on his own.

The part where Jerry overhears the guys at the urinal is definitely a reference to Galaxy quest, where jason overhears the guys dressed like klingons saying he is a total loser
see that's exactly the sort of moment where, yeah it can work completely as a specific reference from that movie (and appreciated by fans that know it), but that's still a 100% believable and organic moment were it to happen had Galaxy Quest never even existed. Obviously at some point in the story Jerry was going to learn the truth, and the bathroom's really the only likely place he could do that, hearing but not being heard.
@@kevinw712 I think it was intentional since they have "beryllium zeppelin" written on the stall door and galaxy quest has a whole subplot about them needing a beryllium sphere.
Every time I hear Zach Hadel get recognition, I feel an immeasurable amount of pleasure.
The first thing that came to mind about the demons when I learnt that take pleasure from pain and cringiness was that they reminded me of the Addams Family. My father said otherwise, but when Rick references them as being like the Addams Family, I just scream "Boo Ya! I was right!"

the cars lasers being red yellow blue and green might be a reference to star wars light sabers coming in the colors red yellow blue and green. though lightsabers also come in purple but maybe they did not include that because its the rarest lightsaber color in cannon. ever since Disney dumped the expanded universe mace windu is pretty much the only one with a purple light saber. yellow is also rare but not nearly as rare since the jedi temple guards used it and an entire section of the jedi temple used it. though at the time of the clone wars that section of the jedi temple was very very small which is the reason they are hardly ever seen.

9:00 you missed that the "hi-IQ" drink is actually a reference to Hi-C fruit drinks. if you compare the logo. there were other Hi-C references, like in the episode with the dragon, ot had Hi-C drinks in its hoard. that logo on the wall might even go further as to not just be a reference to Hi-C, but to Hi-C Ecto Cooler
I think "Hail Satin" is a reference to Foo Fighters latest album that has the same name. The fact that it also says "I like fleece" just reinforces that idea to me
