I loved the cuts between Rick and the President when they were making the plans about the turkey, just trying to outdo each other 😂 it shows how far the President has come since his first encounter with Rick, he’s a lot smarter now which I also love 👏🏽
Yes! Turkeys sleep in trees. In South Jersey we have a lot of them. And it's weird hearing them up in the trees at night.
Ben Franklin thought the Turkey should be the national animal instead of the Bald Eagle.
Oh yeah I read that letter (to be fair it was less an appraisal of turkeys and more a scathing review of eagles, he just said the turkey would be better to ridicule bald eagles) it was cool

Writers perfectly critiqued Congress in this episode.
Even being an American who’s not from the US this episode perfectly exemplified how wild everything they do there looks from the outside
Congress uniting on anything in the modern age? And doing so for pay raises? Nah, not really good critiques. Congress doesn't give a shit about their pay, they get their money from lobbiests.

Before you get to the Easter egg episode, I caught a clever one that may get overlooked: when you see Congress, one of the women to the right of center is one of the stock traders that Morty worked with in Rest and Ricklaxation (“three lockers down” moment). I love that they left that subtle dig at how Wall Street always seems to end up running the country.

This whole episode is just a big euphemism of PTSD in the solider side plot
PTSD might as well stand for Pardoned Turkey Stress Disorder. This episode was truly awesome on all fronts.

could always come back, the citadel of ricks ALSO got demolished in that episode but we’ve seen it rebuilt and up and running again

This was definitely not how I expected this episode to go
Premise seemed nice rick posing as a turkey for pardon, then it went downhill quickly. Bird battles with added one liners, humans with turkey heads that are conveniently sized to fit the plot fighting for some thanksgiving origin. Maybe France left a robot in the statue of liberty and buys NY so congress can keep the money or something. Fly fishing Rick would be disappointed.

Turkeys were actually very close to becoming the symbol of America before the bald eagle was chosen
They probably went with the eagle as it can fly farther n therefore is a better symbol of how big n great america is?

Cool to see the president adapting to ricks shenanigans. I can see comparisons to evil Morty who seemingly knows how to deal with and not even be detected or known by our Rick. But that one anime short could debunk that.
