Yeah, minecraft is definitely one of the few things which I experience nostalgia over. For me, as it does for many others, the game represents that whole part of our childhood, not just the game itself which I think just goes to show how influential Minecraft has become.

i want to iterate that, the only difference i see the game now is, aside from how much it has changed, in a graphical sense. back then when i first played it, i had a terrible laptop. nowadays i can enjoy it on some high-end hardware with the default enhanced shaderpack. oh, and everything in minecraft itself cranked up, for graphics that is.
i mean this like reimagining the game as an adult as compared to as a kid.

Fun fact about music in The End:
When you enter the End dimension, once you reach within a certain radius of the Ender Dragon existing, a different track actually plays called ‘boss.ogg’. This track continues to play until the dragon is defeated. Not until the dragon is killed do you hear the track ‘The End’, which will play in place of ‘boss’ when you’re anywhere in the End from there onwards. Unless you respawn the dragon, at which point ‘boss’ will play again when within proximity to the dragon. If you enter the End without going near the center of the main End island, ‘The End’ track will play, but will be slowly cut off with ‘boss’ once you approach the Ender Dragon.
I found your channel a few years ago from that very first video about Volume Alpha, and I’m glad you were able to make a sequel to it. Looking forward to maybe one about the 2018 Aquatic soundtrack ;)

My favorite track from album Beta, titled “alpha,” has always had a deep place in my heart. It takes the simple parts of Minecraft music and expands to broad orchestral sweeps of sound. I had always assumes that because of the tracks specific, orchestral nature, the developers had never used the song in the actual game. Up until recently I had played every part of Minecraft except for one thing: beating the whole game, in survival, with no cheats or anything. So imagine my surprise and delight to find that this is the exact track that plays during the credits of the game. Still gives me chills 😊.

I absolutely love how most of the soundtrack in Minecraft is mostly synth, piano, and other noises, but then you get to Alpha which has all of the above AND orchestral music in it. It's as if you reached the end of this epic adventure, but it sounds like it's telling you to keep moving and come back again for more journeys, which are all completely different.

I think I should point something out with The End, being my favourite track in Volume Beta; that _buildup,_ that builds for several minutes as the echoes of the Volume Alpha remixes play through, the synths, and the _noise._ Eventually, it builds so much that any tune is impossible to hear; you have to turn down the volume it's so loud. But it's not meaningless noise, I feel that it represents a culmination of Volume Alpha and the player's Minecraft journey - all in 15-20 seconds of synths on top of melodies on top of more synths on top of more noise.
And what happens after this section where the song practically screams at you? One bass note, as the noise disperses into the void. The subtle melodies and sounds that follow all have this reverb to them more than before, which I feel represents the player's one remaining journey - to the outer End islands: so far away, so distant, and at such an incomprehensible scale. The indiscernible noises heard at the End, unknowable, and extremely distant.
It portrays a scale that I can't justify critically, but it's there, and makes The End easily the most grandiose, impressive, and detailed piece in the whole album.

I haven’t played minecraft for years now, but I still regularly listen to volume beta. It’s genuinely one of my favourite albums. Taswell is a motivational speech in musical form. Dreiton has so much personal emotional significance attached to it. Aria Math, Haunt Muskie, Dead Voxel, Blind Spots, Warmth, Wait, Kyoto, this abundance of music touches my core - irrespective of its connection to the game that defined much of my late childhood and adolescence.
A close friend of mine re-introduced me to this music, starting with Taswell (which is easily a top 5 song). We’ve since shared so many experiences accompanied by this soundtrack.
It’s incredible to think that these songs used to be the backdrop to a game about creating shared experiences. Now we’ve carried them into life outside of the game, where they serve the same role.
    Thank you for this video.

I just watched this video right after watching the first video, and.. ALL of these songs sound so different, like im like "yes this is the best/most nostalgic song" but it just keeps changing. All of the music tracks just, they are super different all give a different feeling, but they still at the end feel the same. Like before this if u would have asked me how many songs are in minecraft i would say like 11 or something but no, there are hundreds. but every single one just gives that feeling of minecraft, i think its just beyond words, its like a feeling that doesnt have a name, its more than nostalgia. I just cant explain it very well. These songs may be old, but they will never get old in our hearts. Daniel Rosenfeld is a genius, He has litterly created a new feeling, like if u would say "Nostalgia" that doesnt necessarily have a specific meaning, but say "Minecraft Nostalgia" and that has a whole new meaning. I dont really know what to say anymore. Minecraft Nostalgia is a mix of feelings, its a combination of pure sadness but also pure hapiness. You really start to think in a different way when listening to Daniel Rosenfeld minecraft tracks. And one unique thing about this music is that its just gets sadder when u listen to it when your not playing minecraft. It just reminds u of all the times youve had, even if u havnt played minecraft for a long time or never expierienced playing it together with friends it still makes u cry. And i know this text is a bit janky and i cant explain it well and its overal not a good text it still came from the heart...

I love Minecraft's soundtrack, it is beautiful, but my favorite is Dreiton. For me, I think it tells the story.
That crackling and "rain" sound is quite resemblant to that of the ender dragon's death sound, and the beginning of the player's final step toward becoming a master of the game. It's sort of a bittersweet moment for the player, as they make their way back to the overworld, and see all of what they have created. They beat the game, but there is so much left for them to do. The synths at the beginning remind me completely of how I feel after beating the game.
But then the pan-drums start to the player, just like the player placing blocks, and realizing that there is so much more to do. That little "Dun-dun-doon-DUN" with the drums is like the player finding the momentum and energy to create as the music picks up, and more and more instruments are added to the song before abruptly quitting, then coming back even more robust than before. The drums become more methodical, as the player becomes more and more skilled.
You hear a clang of an anvil, a piano, and even the dragon dying again for a brief bit of time, just as the player comes to appreciate the game even more. You hear bits of Ki, an old song, and the player is now very well acquainted with the game.
I've played Minecraft for over 10 years now, and it still feels quite emotional, and this song perfectly encompasses those feelings.
Eventually, everything builds up and falls into a quiet, calm section with nothing but drums, a piano, and a guitar. The player realizes how much the game has shaped their life, as they look back on their many hours with the game. Watching Stampy with their friends, reading through the original handbooks, building alone or with friends.
As the music fades out, with the bits of momentum from the drums becoming more sporadic as they finally fade out, the player presses "Save and quit to the title," for the very last time.

I don't think I really appreciated Minecraft music until recently. And by recently, I mean the last two years, when mine and seemingly everyone else's interest in Minecraft was rekindled. A little Minecraft server was the only way I was able to have interaction with my friends over quarantine. When school started up again, I needed something to fill the silence while the difficulties of online learning were crushing me from all angles. So I made a playlist filled with all the Minecraft soundtrack that I could find. It was nostalgic, it was comforting. Beta was my favorite, especially Alpha, which I would listen to every night for months so that I could fall asleep peacefully. I still use my playlist to study and each time, it feels like a friend coaching me, supporting me, and telling me that it's all going to be alright. I loved this video because I don't think I've found anyone saying what I've felt for years now.

When you experience loss, do not feel like you did not spend enough time with the person you lost, feel and remember that was the amount of time you were meant to be. Thank you, Meraki, for this amazing video! And thank you, C418, for this amazing soundtrack!

I'll never forget when I accidentally forgot the title menu open after just lauching the game but had to do something else, and all of the sudden, as i came back to my room after doing what i had to do, Moog City 2 started playing.
and the feeling of an adventure waiting for me, almost calling for me, as i looked back to the screen and saw the panorama of 1.15(the buzzy bees update), just overwhelmed me and i didn't even press play(it was bedrock), I just sat there looking at the title screen listening to that slow rising theme, reverbing through the trees, and then the lower part came and I was just left with the feeling of nostalgia every minecraft music has, so i pressed play and opened my survival world, and Moog City 1 started playing, sortta giving me an answer to the second one, without the airy bg, the more crispy and "beaty" notes, telling me "this is it, this is the adventure that was waiting for you, this world is your canvas and here for you to explore"

As SOON as that line was finished I began to cry. I lost all of my old Minecraft worlds when my PS4 got corrupted. I lost the first world I ever made, the first block I ever placed. There's a dog in a house about 500 blocks off spawn who has been sitting there for 3 years now.

I like to think that the soundtrack is also meant to be listened to in order. It starts off ambitious gives you the end. A criminally underrated song in it entirety with a almost overwhelming onsomble mid way through then cuts to more organic sounds and record scratches. Then blends into chirp. An arguably strange track to say the least. The theme is followed until eleven. Each song being almost a simplified version of the encounters and experiences you've had throughout the game. Eleven changes that theme completely. More record scratching, followed by a grand yet eloquent piano that plays throughout the whole track. Ward picks back up with the cartoonish simplified theme that switches pace a few times. Each switch changing the mood from one to another. This is continued until intro. Each song getting more and more complex and intricate as it goes on. Far finishes with more of the static we've been greeted with throughout the sound track but with more organic noises. Intro is where the complexity peaks in my mind. It starts out smooth and slightly familiar but fades in a vocal hum that progresses throughout the song along with its synth that becomes more and more integrated into the foreground allowing you to be invoked with a sense of remembrance of times once had in the game. All of this builds to a powerful yet soothing peak that coaxes the listener into a sense of joy in remembrance. All then fading off into a abrubt record scratch and then Ki plays once again. This time having a different perceived tone. Instead of feeling wonderous and excited the listener feels a sense of nostalgia for the memories made prior and ready to start anew. Instead of Intro being an "intro" song to the game, its a intro song into a new unexplored world to players who have conquered the game and are ready to start new once more. A restart button in music form that coaxes a returning player into a sense of excitement and happiness. A little bit of a stretch but its all making sense to me right now and I'm higher then hell.

Aria Math, and many other songs talked about in this video, remind me of me and my friends. Of past friends, present friends. Of who I used to be and no longer want to be, and who I am now and who I’ll be in the future. I’m terrified and excited, and im so glad I’ll have my friends with me for it. It also reminds of my current friends, their chaotic nature that’s still so loving and caring. Im so happy to have them in my lives. Im so happy that im still here, still able to be who I want to be and who I really am. Still able to call them on discord and just talk, and play games together. I realize Minecraft has been a core part of all my friendships, of who I am now, and I’ll be forever grateful.

Dude, your voice and charisma catch me to the soul! Thanks for the great video, everything about it is great and i love it! We all expirienced minecraft differenty in some ways but nearly the same! Just being curious young guy, filled with hopes and dreams, wanting to get to the top of the world, and this game gave it to us in a lot of ways! I still remember my first few items crafted, the excitment of collecting wood and doing them, the first mud house, the first night spend around skeletons and spiders, first creeper blowing my house, first time in a cave deep in the dark with only few torches and mobs around me, first time playing multiplayer and the excitement of doing stuff together with your bro, first try to make silly jokes with your friends house or chests , ahh the nostalgia is really , really strong.. Well done Video, with the needed respect for the artist behind this incredible music! Thanks!
Not sure if you already noticed or someone mentioned it to you, but in many places, where you play the music more prominent in the video, one can hear Audio Glitches, as if the buffer rate for your audio card was set too low, when recording/capturing the C418 tracks. First glitch is at 0:10, further very clearly audible at 5:30, many glitches throughout the whole video, but mostly audible when you are not speaking. And your mic track seems to be not affected by it.
Hope this is fixable and you still have the separate audio parts and the project file to maybe re-render the video with the glitches in the C418 tracks fixed ?!
    Cheers
    Daniel

You do a great job wit these documentary like vids and I encourage you to continue making videos like this. The music in the background fit well with your voice and calmed me down watching this vid. My personal favorites of this album are dreiton, intro, alpha ,ballad of the cats, Dead voxel, concrete halls, mutation. And beginning 2. My favorite was alpha because it was used as a celebration and felt like the music of life where there are ups and downs. Dreitons pandrums and rather makes creative mode memorable. And mutation was the best intro when you open up that minecraft homescreen. Intro always made a new beginning fun.
