Actually growing peaches is work. They're seemingly susceptible to every fungus, infection, blight, insect, etc and then you have to try to keep the animals from eating them.
I treasure every last peach that survives

Oh boy, you can say that again. Fungus seems to get my peach tree every summer, despite all kinds of effort to keep it from happening. The squirrels don't seem to mind spotted peaches though, so I let them have mine. There's always another chance next year.

My favourite year-round is the apple, and my favourite fruit is the peach-nectarine. A ripe, juicy nectarine compensates for a cloudy day. :-)

No better summer fruit? No way, Jack. Perfectly ripe mango is the exquisite summer fruit flavor experience for my taste sensibilities, hands down. Lusciously juicy and succulent, having a burst of refreshing tropical flavors: sweet and tangy, with tropical and floral undertones.

Can't wait for my Grandpa's peaches to come on. He has a few trees in his back yard and has since before I was born. Nothing like a fresh peach warm right off the tree!

just cut the half with the pit again and repeat. You should be able to grab the pit in the smaller slice a lot easier. I should know I eat a lot of peaches.

I tried this trick and it doesn’t always work. The pit can still stick in the peach and you still have to pry it out with a knife or your fingers.

They're the same. So much so that trees that produce one will randomly start producing the other. The two are genetically identical, save for the gene that determines the smoothenss. The skin might be a little different, but it's what's on the inside that counts.

@AustynSN wow didn't know that, but for some reason, I like nectarines. Even if you take the skin of peaches, I still don't like them and even dislike both if they are cooked. Funny how they are related but different.
