"I'll explain, using my own body...for science." 😅
I want to see Dan's peaches and worship them forever.
Mention Dan and peaches and the gays come running
@@happily_blueSurely you meant... gUys. 😅
my preferred peach-eating setup is over the sink, but with a tiny bowl held in my non-peach hand to catch any drips that escape my blurp. (the sink is for safety in case I miss.) then once I’ve finished the peach, I lick the juice drops out of the tiny bowl. it’s like a little bonus treat, and a great note to end on.
"Blurping ain't easy." 😂😂 Dan, you really are one of my favorite humans!
I love What's Eating Dan. So very informative. And entertaining. Thanks Dan.
And very approachable! Don't forget approachable! I love the fact that he admits to eating peaches over the sink like the rest of us do. They taste best that way anyway!
Dan, I am so happy watching you be you. So inspiring and utterly lovable. Thank you.🥰
one of my favourite easy things to do during peach season is this: take a whole peach and pull the pit out. fill the empty space inside with caramel. wrap the whole peach in a thin layer of pie dough and bake the whole thing until the pie dough is gbd. It's even better than it sounds, and it's a perfect single-serving dessert. The amount of crust I would make for a single crust pie usually is enough for 4-6 peaches.
what does "gbd" mean?
@@confusingdalek709 my guess is 'golden browned', given the context
@@confusingdalek709 golden brown and delicious :)
Ok, I watch a lot of your content while I'm working because it's both informative and soothing material. The way that "blurping in my blance" made me laugh out loud while working in a quiet studio was pretty uncalled for though, hahaha. That took me out, lol.
Love peaches and Dan! I am baking, canning, eating fresh, and freezing peaches all summer long.
I love these Dan episodes. Love.
I love how excited Dan gets about food! very contagious. i want peaches now :O
Ripe, juicy Peaches and Mangoes = Happy Dawn! Blurping right here with you over the sink, Dan! ❤❤❤
Congratulations to you and the team on the IACP Digital Media Award! 👏🏽
I live in Colorado, and the peaches from the western slope, aka western Colorado, near Grand Junction are my favorite. I can never get enough. So far this season, I've eaten a half dozen with more to come. Thanks, Dan, great video.
Yes!! They’re the best IMO
Grand Junction is a magical place and the wine is exemplary!
The best! I'm in MN and a local grocer orders truck loads from Talbot's every year. They all have special peach colors shirts for a couple weeks. I just ate one over the sink and want another.
Moved to Colorado from SoCal recently. I thought I’d be missing out on all the fresh, local fruits and produce, but the Western Slope peaches were honestly just as good as I could get from any Cali farmers markets.
I passed through GJ and had no idea about the peaches until I happened upon the farmers market and learned ….how delicious!!
Ok - Dan is a natural! Love his videos! Please keep them coming, Dan!!
Sounds delicious! And, for the first time in seven years, the squirrels left us some peaches -- which ripened fully on the tree. So, I made this last night.
I must not have used enough butter though. There was no juice to drain after it was baked AND about a third of the tart stuck to the pan when we flipped it. So, it tasted good, but was a bit ugly.
Two additions: I added 1/2 cup of minced candied ginger between the crust and the peaches - which was delicious. I put heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a cocktail shaker with the spring from a Hawthorne strainer to make whipped cream for the top. (I'd never tried that method before and it worked quite well!)
I'm going to make the peach tarte tatin again using more butter and a double layer of peaches in hopes of getting enough juice to reduce it with bourbon as suggested. My sweetie wants to take some of the tarte and mix it into premium vanilla ice cream. I'm going for the whipping cream again. 😁
P.S. I learned a lot in this video! For example, nectarines are my favorite fruit, but I had no idea they were in the peach family.
This is one of my favorite episodes! After a poor season here in the South, a perfectly ripe peach sounds so good!
I’m so sorry you’ve had a poor season, we’ve definitely had a better than usual one here in Virginia. I hope your next season is better!
For years now I've been making a fermented peach sauce whenever peaches are in season. It's the perfect sweet and sour sauce, great in stir fries.
Oh my gosh, peaches. Thank you for the rhapsody, fellow worshipper!
It’s been a great season here in Virginia, and we’re still getting them. Bliss.
If you haven’t tried New Jersey peaches, I highly recommend them. The ones I’ve had weren’t as big as the North Carolina peaches we get here, but they are intense.
Oh, and peaches are hands-down my favorite fruit
Peach is my favorite fruit!
I watched this as research to make my elderly mom the world's best peach pie for Thanksgiving. Ikr? I'm a good egg.
I live in Sacramento California and the ripe peaches I pick from my tree each summer are the best, no other fruit can compare! I would love to see an ATK peach ice cream recipe one day, hint, hint. Love your episodes Dan, you are one funny guy.
I too love peaches!!! Just made a cobbler the other day with fresh peaches!!! Thanks for demonstrating the technique to enjoying this absolutely wonderful and delicious fruit!!! Love love love your videos!!!
I don’t know if you have good writers or Dan is purely amazing but he is so funny!! I love watching him in this series.
When I was growing up, peaches had a fuzzy skin. We had to wash them under cold running water to rub off the fuzz before we could eat them. Our peach tree always produced the biggest and juiciest peaches you could ever want to eat. I don't know what happened to the fuzzy skin variety of peaches, but I never see them anymore. That's too bad. They tasted much better than peaches today. Thanks for the video Dan. I'm always enlightened in a very good way after watching you.
Dan: so utterly charming. A fount of knowledge, delivered so effortlessly.
Your ‘What’s eating Dan’ episodes are my go to for a 360° view of a food. I’ll be making both the tomato and peach salad and the tartan today with beautiful Shenandoah Valley peaches. Think I’ll trade out the burrata tho for local feta. Thanks Dan!
My ultimate peach experience was 50 years ago in Texas. I was in basic training at the Air Force base outside San Antonio. I developed an earache and so was sent to sick bay. When I arrived, there was a huge stainless steel bin full of softball-sized peaches at peak ripeness, dripping with juice. I ate four of them and looked forward to a new bin the next day. That bin never came. Lesson: pig out today, tomorrow is too late. I've never since had a peach that came close to those.
I’ve always loved you, Dan. And now that I know we have the same favorite fruit, I am a forever fan, and I elect myself as president of the Dan Fan Club! Lol.
Blurper with proper blance here, I love that someone else has identified this!! Peaches and Mangos are my favorite fruits, bar none. I also love removing the peels and eating just the peach. A delicious peach pie can’t be beat. But that tart tatine… that may be the peach perfection I need in my life.
Peaches are my favorite too ❤
Mmmmm….. peaches! My favorite too! My mouth was watering as I watched this video. No joke. The aroma, the juice. They are amazing.
This is my first time listening to What’s eating Dan. I learned a lot and plan on following his suggestions for delicious Shrimp.
Have you tried Palisade peaches? From the western slope of Colorado. They can get monstrous & are so good! I'm in the Denver area, so eastern slope side, but we'd go every Labor Day weekend to visit friends in Grand Junction & load up. Then we'd get to canning & freezing. Spiced peaches are yum 😋 I like peaches by themselves, with cream or cottage cheese & also in homemade jam, which is my preferred method now of preserving them. You can get them at Farmer's Markets & roadside stands in my area starting soon (our peach season is late summer). Oh, & I'd prefer a descented skunk over a trash panda (though they can be quite cute too).
Peaches were my favorite fruit growing up, and then I discovered mangoes (sorry peaches!).
The recipes look so delicious. I can’t wait to try them. Thanks for sharing, Dan!
My favorite fruits are nectarines/peaches, mango and guanábana.
Yes, having grown up with mangoes, mangoes are my favourites. But peaches/nectarine are my favourite non tropical fruit
One very important thing missing from this video is, tips for picking good peaches when buying.
My favorite fruit, too! I’m drooling! Dan, you’re entertaining and informative! Awesome video! Peaches 🍑 all day! POJ!
What Dan said plus peach Clafoutis. My favorite fruit as well and I'm a sink dweller. Eating Jersey's right now.
My husband lives for peach season. He is so picky he only will buy them at one produce store and they have to be from Colorado. He goes through at least 60 of them testing, squeezing, and smelling them before he picks each for his bag. Some are ready in 1 day and some in 4 days..that's the longest he has them in the house. I use to buy a whole lug of them and freeze them to use during winter, but no, that will not do. He only eats them fresh during the peach window. To watch him eat a peach, you'd think it was heaven come to earth. I am so glad he can find such simple pleasure in something he loves so much.
Peaches are my favorite fruit, as well. Peach cake from a NYC bakery! Yum! Both recipes sound so tasty. The “blurp ” is a hard technique to master, but once perfected, it soon becomes apparent that there is no other way. The tip on the angle of the bend is crucial. Not just for new shoes, but also white shirts! Note to self: Stop wearing white shirts to freestyle eat a peach!
I love peaches so much I start salivating when the orchard says the first peaches are ready. The first peach of the seaon is like a beautiful dream.
Peaches are my favourite. Always have been, always will. Taste, texture and abundant juice! What's not to love?
What's Eating Dan?... So much fun and amazing lessons / tips. Peaches, oh yes Dan - my favorite; heading out to a pick your own farm tomorrow in VA Beach. I plan to try your peaches & burrata salad tomorrow, maybe a Peach cobbler. Thanks so much, you are SO Funny!
When I was a kid, I used to feed my horse huge yellow Freestone Elberta peaches from our orchard. Juice would fly everywhere.
Dan: so utterly charming. A fount of knowledge, delivered so effortlessly.. I love these Dan episodes. Love..
Dan, you make my day every day. Brilliant and hysterical!
I wait all year for peach season. Hands down my favorite fruit.
Charming episode. The recipes look so delicious! (Apples are my fave, but peaches are less available and more expensive).
Persimmons! I think they're my favorite fruit. The fuyu variety are incredible.
You need to try these varieties of persimmons:
Chocolate
Coffee Cake
Saijo
Sugar and Spice
A perfect peach is hands down my favorite fruit!
I always love your videos! Hilarious and informative. Thanks Dan. yes peaches are my favorite
I love you Dan

Great details humorous delivery !
The wordplay had me giggling uncontrollably. Amazing work as always! ❤
I love peaches. Thank you for the knowledge ❤
My heart balances between peaches and mango as a favorite...
that salad looks AMAZING. i want to try it.
I also love peaches, but most citrus tie for my favorites. Oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit. Amazing aromas.
Wonderfully written.
I always enjoy watching Dan. You are very entertaining and super knowledgeable.
Dan, I absolutely adore you! Fantastic video!
Silly is as silly does!! Best peach I've had was at a farmers market near SLO...I wore it back to Pismo beach on my shirt and couldn't have been happier! So sweet and that was 30 years ago! Thx!
Add some Serrano or jalapeño peppers, cilantro and diced onion. Peach salsa. So good!!🔥🌞
My favorite is apricot, but the season is like two seconds long. Peaches, plums. So much yes.
Thanks you goofy nerd. Happy summer. Keep ‘em coming, these videos are gold. 👍
Here in Baltimore there is a traditional peach cake that is not so much a cake as it is an indulgent sweet bread soaking up the peach juices. Yum.
The perfect love letter to Peaches. ❤
Your videos are great, I think you strike a very good balance between practice and theory, as well as entertainment.
I'd love to see you make a video on Apples
Dan you're hilarious 😂 and yes peaches🍑 are a favorite of mine, Yum! 😋
Boiled peanuts and peaches? I feel like Dan is southern at heart ♥
Summer peaches are easily my number one favorite fruit.
This made my day. thanks for being silly and informative Dan
The tart looks delicious!
Peaches are close, but my favorites are sweet cherries and a really good watermelon.
Peaches are my favorite fruit and now I’m wanting some. These recipes look so good.
I'm a peach lover too. They, along with raspberries and pomegranates, are my favorite fruit! You can tell I like acidity in my fruit. My favorite are from my Grandpa's backyard in Utah. Ripe and sun warmed, straight off the tree, or bottled by my Grandma when they really come on so fast it's hard to keep up. Nostalgia and beauty all at once!
Peaches have always been my favorite fruit! Your video was very entertaining and informative. Thank you!
You crack me up. I love this series.
I love the unexpected comedy throughout this whole video!
Also, PLIERS!? I learn something new and violent everyday.
I love, love, love peaches!!
Peaches are really the only thing that makes summer bearable.
great humor, good cooking
Thank you!
Loves me some peach! Certainly ONE of my favorites…
Yes Dan, the yellow peach is also my favorite fruit.
Peaches are my absolute favorite fruit!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
yes, it looks delicious. I make a raspberry peach cobbler. Have a good one.
YES! Peaches are my favorite fruit, without a doubt. So acidic they will make my teeth hurt for days, and still, I cannot pass them up. My favorite way is also blurping...I usually lean over the sink. 😄 I recently found an ATK gallett/tar recipe with a simple crust , peaches, and blackberries that I am preparing to try...so excited! I am hoping that cooking them will tone down the peach's acidity. These recipes also look fantastic-more peach dishes in my near future!
You’re a treasure! Informative and entertaining.
That intro approached perfection. Killin it my guy.
Thank you for teaching me a lot about peaches! Mangos next?
Peaches are my favorite! Had about 4 bushel this year on our trees! 😊
My absolute favorite fruit, pie, daiquiri, etc.
My go to this summer is Tajin on peaches. Delicious!
