    You don't use the pan under the air fryer rack when air frying fries. You only use the pan if you are cooking fatty, oily, or marinated ingredients. Secondly, you are supposed to turn the basket 180° halfway through cooking cycle for even browning and crispiness. It's says both of those things right in the manual. Not trying to be mean, but you really should thoroughly read the instructions before reviewing a product. I use my Ninja SP101 all the time and don't burn things like you did. I cook everything from filet mignon to frozen jalapeno poppers in mine and they come out perfect every time.

    First, I enjoy your thorough reviews and recipes, and that is the reason I subscribed to your channel. Secondly, I bought this toaster oven a few weeks ago and I have used it to cook bacon, pan sausage, biscuits, toast, frozen fries, salmon fillets, and tater tots, all successfully. I have had to adjust some cooking times & temps, a bit, but I love it. Also, I want to mention that the light automatically turns on at 30 seconds before the timer stops, which is a nice feature, as well. Thanks, again, for your thorough, real, and funny reviews! Looking forward to the next…..

    I have the Dual Heat Ninja Foodi Oven. Have you done a review on that model SP302? It worked great for toasting and baking. But....anytime I cook any kind of meat it will leak the grease out the back and onto the counter. Not sure how it does this, maybe it pulls the grease splatter into the fan somehow? It does this in the cooking position (not flipped up) even after I clean the grease off of the sear plate. I agree with another comment on how horrible they are to clean. Baked on grease is impossible to remove. Love your reviews, I am currently watching your other reviews to find a replacement model.

  • @marcospecoli7519
    @marcospecoli7519 Год назад +1

    I'm not sure whether you got inconsistent air frying results due to leaving the pan in the toaster oven with the frying tray. The convention effect needs air to freely circulate around the space, it may have been too crammed in the oven to properly circulate the air. Did you try air frying with just the frying tray in the unit? If so, did you get better / more consistent results?

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  Год назад +1

      Great point. However, the tray is the one that came with the unit. At the end of the day, this is a great toaster, but not a great air fryer. Cheers. Marc

      Yes it does. It's great forte is that it is faster than bigger ovens in heating up and also a LOT more economical. With rising inflation and energy prices, all types of air friers are now selling like hot cakes in the UK (sales up 300%) and this shines compared to other air friers in that it can handle bigger meals and also do toast and is also a conventional oven. I hardly use my big oven now but obviously the ninja cannot handle a full sized Christmas turkey!

    I purchased this Ninja Foodi because of it's excellent reviews. Watched RUclips videos and was impressed by its apparent toasting ability. It doesn't toast with a darn. I returned the first one because of its poor toasting. Second one is even worse. This morning (first attempt at toasting) took two full rounds at darkest setting to toast 3 slices of bread unevenly. A total ripoff! I really don't care what else it can do if it doesn't make good toast.
